DHB DUI (1 Viewer)

Wonder how this will play with the new regime.
This might explain why he has never reached his full potential... MADD says the average drunk driver drives 80 times drunk prior to their first arrest.
I think you are being a little harsh. You can say he hasn't lived up to his draft stock, but he has shown improvement in each of his first three seasons. He was also considered "raw" when he came into the league.Once getting a real QB in Palmer, DHB averaged 5.3 rec 77.3 ypg .43 TD over the second half of the season. If he averaged that over the entire season, you're looking at 85rec 1237 yds and 7TD which is a great season for a third year WR.

WR 1 MooreWR 2 FordWR 3 DUI Boy with stone hands
He doesn't have stone hands anymore. He still needs to improve his catching technique but he was waaayy better last season than he was in prior years. If he continues to improve he can become a very good player. No way would I simply discount him as you are.

No news here, seems like every few weeks an NFL player is getting a DUI. You'd think they could easily afford cabs.

You may be right--that he has a drinking problem--but I doubt that would limit his football potential. The league is full of Super Stars who were known to have drinking problems. I think alcohol affects football performance much less than pot because pot seems to make people lazy and unmotivated. I am not saying it is a good thing. But I don't think it has the same affect on work performance.

You know there's something with your priorities when the fist thought that came into my mind upon seeing the thread title was 'Good. Maybe Moore gets more targets.'

I'm pathetic.

If DHB's BAC was less than .10 he could plea it down to a 'wet reckless' charge instead of a DUI. Still not a good thing at all though.

As a Moore owner. I got that beat. I was thinking 'Good, maybe they'll cut him'.

Let me turn it around. Does abusing alcohol help him attain his full potential? He is drinking enough that he is getting pulled over by the cops. Is that type of poor judgment hurting his career? And then there are the hangovers, blackouts etc. These are not consistent with achieving ones full potential. Could this be an isolated incident and the first time he ever got drunk? Sure. But even then getting a DUI puts you in a higher risk category in terms of the extent to which your drinking is affecting your life. There are many NFL players who drink alcohol and don't get DUIs. And it is far more likely that he is say at least average drunk driver and has driven a lot more while drunk. Quite honestly he is very lucky he did not kill someone.

Here's your stone hands picking up 58 yards last year. He had 975 in total:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDQeuRGcY24
I'm a fan of DHB, but that wasn't a great catch. An elite WR would've jumped and caught it at its highest point, rather than letting it come down into his arms where the defender could make a play on it. DHB has excellent size and ridiculous speed, but his hands are merely average at this point and his route running still needs a lot more polish. The good news is that both of these facets are light years ahead of where they were his rookie year primarily due to his amazing work ethic and drive to succeed. The even better news is that there is actually still plenty of room for improvement for DHB, to even dare I say, elite WR levels, if he keeps his head on straight. The DUI is a small red flag, but at this point not a major one to me at least. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can keep up the upward progression in his performance. I believe he can.And BTW, this is from someone who had ZERO faith in DHB after his abysmal rookie year. He was ridiculously bad back then. Light years.

I think a young lady or two accused me of this in my college days...

id think the opposite. pot isnt that bad for your body. alcohol is terrible for your physique and body composition. id imagine it makes a lot of ppl lazy and unmotivated as well. ive never heard of a weed hangover. but tie one on and see how motivated you are to hit the gym, field, and study room the next day.

There is a reason that 0.08 was chosen. And if he had gotten into an accident where the other driver died, then legally he would be in a lot of trouble.

Does anyone have a list of nfl players arrested for DUIs? I'd be curious to see how many hall of famers are on the list.

Pretty sure Brett Favre struggled with it. Carl Eller. Big Ben (although in his case it may have led to OTHEr issues).

But, on a more serious note, I dont think we can tell how this is going to affect Bey until we see how training camp goes...obviously not a good sign though... get it together Darrius

Are you saying you think Favre and Roethlisberger got DUIs? Favre had a Vicodin problem that started by playing through injuries. He was also known as a partier early in his career, perhaps similar to Roethlisberger. But I'm not aware either of them got DUIs.
