Good pressure by the Denver D does not equal a choke by Brady. Everyone knew the teams were very well matched. Thanks for playing though.

I find it EXTREMELY funny, that a Pats fan started one of the Manning choke threads, but when someone starts talking about a Brady choke after a bad win, the Pats fans

Who's crying? I think Al Wilson kicked a lot of Patriot butt tonight.

I'm gonna say yes just because he drew the Disrespect card last week.
Good point. While I didn't expect him to carry the Pats past the Broncos, IMO the blame goes to the defense. But keep in mind, Denver is the 2nd best team in the NFL.

Of course Indy fans are elated right now.

Over 50% passing, 341 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT - not the stats of a choke. :bag: 2 INTs, looks more like a choke. The fumbles were huge as well.

I'm no Pats fan, but...When did we decide that "choke" just means "lose a big game"? Choke used to mean something. It used to matter. Now it's used way too often.Brady played poorly, and he lost a game his team was an underdog in. End of story. If you want to call that a choke, there's a ton of chokers every weekend. If you want to call Manning a choker, even when he doesn't deserve it, I guess you can. But Brady was 10-0 until tonight... I doubt he suddenly clenched up in the big game in attempt #11.Yeesh.

If the defense played better, the fumbles, Vinieteri didn't miss the FG and they didn't have so many BS calls go against them, they wouldn't have had to air it out so much tonight. It's a team loss - Brady didn't choke.

I'm not sad about tonight's game - but I'm not particularly elated. But, lots of Colts fans will be elated tonight because Pats fans have been all over the Colts message boards for the last 2 years.

I love this thread! How did Brady choke.Troy Brown & Kevin Faulk & Ellis Hobbs give DEN 21 pointsIf it wasn't for the three FUM you'd have 10 points!!!Jackasses

Interesting that when the Colts get beat by a better team while on the road, Manning is a choker. When the Pats get beat by a better team while on the road, its a team loss and everyone shoulders the blame.

Yeah those two wide open TDs he missed and INT returned to the 1 had nothing to do with it.

I think that those Super Bowl rings that Brady wears are answer enough to that rediculous question. Sometimes the other team just plays better, has home field advantage, has a better gameplan, etc...The better team won tonight, nobody, least of all Tom Brady, choked.

Now I'm just asking - Can anyone insult Brady who has defended Manning, or defend Brady who has insulted Peyton?

As a Pats fan, I always wondered why people thought Manning choked. He was always just beaten by an excellent defense. Brady did choke on a half-dozen easy throws, but it was caused by an excellent Denver pass rush that got to him early and rattled him. However, you can't point to Brady as the single reason they lost. Fumble killed that team dead.GG

Knowledge you are a complete idiot.Actually calling you and idiot is an insult to idiotsThe three fumbles sealed NE fate.If you can't see that there's no hope.DEN won and the game is over but wait till PITT OR INDY get a hold of this pitiful team both will eat DEN alive.I'm done with you (sub human)!!!

Bottom line is that the PATS are the defending 2-time champsEvery NE fan and his mom thinks Brady is god - so yes he chokedThrew a horrific int which was the turning point of the game - the loss is on his shoulders since every win is either because of him, belicheck or a combination of both

If only more Pats fans thought like you did.

I like to insult them both.... but in the past couple of years it has been easier to insult Manning.

Do you prefer worms or small fish on your line?

I've posted in these kind of Patriots/Indy threads for the last couple years, and I think this might be the first response I've ever had. No one likes to acknowledge a Pats fan who is not also a raving lunatic tool. :D

Answer the question?

Brady didn't choke, he just ran into a buzzsaw.Denver was the second best team in the nation, possibly the best. Denver was 7-3 against winning teams. Denver was 8-0 at home. Denver was 2nd in the league in turnover differential. Denver was coming off a bye in a week where teams with the bye have an 80% winning rate. Denver was favored by Vegas.New England wasn't SUPPOSED to win this game. The line had no business being 3.5 points in the first place. If any other team had been coming into Denver playing like New England was, the line would have been 7, 8, 9 points. Tom Brady lost to a superior team, which isn't a choke, it's simply a reality of the NFL.I agree with the point that has been raised- Tom Brady is as much of a choker as Manning. In other words, not at all. He simply loses to better teams. Remember, this is the first time Tom Brady hasn't been one of the top-2 seeds in the NFL.

Manning lost on the road against teams that were favored against him. When you lose to a team that is predicted to beat you, I don't see how that is choking exactly. Then again, maybe the idea that Manning will choke factors into the Vegas line.

:goodposting: How can it be called choking when the guy has a history of performing in big time games?

Brady lost on the road to a higher seeded team coming off a bye. He most certainly didn't choke. Did he play as well as most expected? Did he play as well as he's capable of playing? But he didn't "choke."Congrats to the Broncos fans, and Pats fans, wear your colors with pride, you've still won 3 SBs in the last five seasons.

Either team is scary (as are the Stillers, if they play their best game). The bottom line is that each and every team has weaknesses. If you can exploit them, you stand a darn good chance of winning. I was more impressed tonight with NE's defense to be honest. But you MUST give Denver's special teams and defense their due. They caused TO's vs. a very stingy and tight NE team. That concerns me, and the Colts better have their stuff wired tight and be ready for it!
