He's f#$#ed and will miss the games. I don't think he's even appealed the suspension.Does anybody know if there is a hearing or what the deal is or what possible outcome may be? OR is he f#$#ed and will miss the games?
Yes he appealed. LinkMarshall's attorney perspective: LinkHe's f#$#ed and will miss the games. I don't think he's even appealed the suspension.Does anybody know if there is a hearing or what the deal is or what possible outcome may be? OR is he f#$#ed and will miss the games?
I'm sure the Broncos are taking care of that. He will miss 2 games max.I understood that the Bronco's had Therapy lined up for him to meet the conditions for reducing the suspension to two games, but I haven't heard anymore after that... All that's been said is he is appealing... Is Marshal doing what he's supposed to in the meantime to get it reduced to 2 games?
The other thing- is I read he has a DUI trial during the season? Possible more suspension? Whats the deal there? Homers please clarify!
From what I can gather, it will not affect his suspension. If I can find the link, I'll post it.What about this potential midseason DUI problem? Anyone seeing that going anywhere?
BOINGRotoworld reporting...Denver - The team believes Brandon Marshall's 2-3 game suspension could be reduced to one. His appeal will be heard this week.
Or the league could be looking for payback for the embarassment of the Henry appeal...He has the same lawyer that won Henry's appeal so he could win.

exactly what I was thinking after that mess last season.Counting on the 2 weeks, assuming he has the counseling lined up (or god forbid done already)...Will be "boing" to quote another post here
if it gets dropped down to 1. NO WAY it goes away all together. BTW - hedging the early games off for BM w/ Mushin (covering for Smith's timeout). Later cost for some reason ADP wise vs. Royal / DJax believe it or not (in mine anyway). Less painful for me w/ BM as WR3 behind Braylon and Calvin.

Godell should learn from this and the next time he needs to suspend a guy just tack on an additional game or two, so when the lawyer comes in to get it reduced, the reduction will end up being what Goodell wanted in the first place anyway. While Marshall is a great talent, I still don't think he gets it. I would really like him to undergo counseling to get his head on straight so he can stay out of trouble in the future, but it doesn't look like he wants to get any help. So, even though he may win the short term battle by having his suspension reduced, it appears only a matter of time before the guy does something stupid again to get into further trouble a la Pacman. I guess time will tell.

What basis do you have to make that outrageous claim? Do you know Brandon Marshall personally? Are you his neighbor? Are you his shrink? Ther are patient confidentiality laws if you are. All the news here in Colorado is that he is already complying with the counseling, and Marshall himself has said that he is convinced that the suspension won't be any more than 2 games. This tells me that he is confident that he will or has already complied with the mandatory counseling. I don't know where you get your information or form your opinions, but it is not the same as my point of view.Unfortunately, the appeal will be heard by the same Hitler wannabe dictator commissioner that gave the suspension in the first place. The NFL needs to do something about this problem before it ruins the league. ok fine, but that's a whole different scenario with different ramifications ((the pats were penalized, btw).Henr'y drug test would never have gone through the nfl. I agree that the league has been pretty consistent and level-headed with drug testing, and has actually shown a remarkable willingness to consider extenuating circumstances - especially potentially faulty testing procedures - as justification for reducing or even eliminating punishments. My sarcastic response was simply to point out that the league's overall discipline policy is definitely subject to criticism, which means that Goodell's nomination for sainthood ought to be deferred.ok fine, but that's a whole different scenario with different ramifications ((the pats were penalized, btw).Henr'y drug test would never have gone through the nfl. I don't live in Colorado and have never heard anywhere, including on this board, that Marshall was already getting some counseling. The only information I had is that he had the opportunity to get the suspension reduced from 3 to 2 games if he underwent counseling, and that he was challenging the suspension (a suspension which the vast majority on this board believe to be a more lenient punishment than he was otherwise expected to get). Thus, my comment that he was not taking any ownership over his behavioral problems and availing himself of the oppotunity to get some help to correct them. If you have some links that I and others who don't live in Colorado can look at to confirm that he is indeed undergoing counseling they would be very helpful to see since that will definitely be a positive in his favor as he challenges the suspension. Broncos Arrange Counseling Services For WR Marshall
Mike Klis, Denver Post - [Full Article]
The Denver Broncos have reportedly already arranged for counseling services for wide receiver Brandon Marshall, in advance of the Commissioner's Office likely suspending Marshall for three games for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy. Marshall's suspension will reportedly be reduced from three to two games if Marshall participates in counseling.

i underlined the part above because it's not true.i bolded the other part because you're insane. My biggest problem is that he's done a lot of stupid, serious things over the past couple of years and seems to be completely unrepentant about all of it. He's a ticking time bomb, the foot has to come down. If I were Goodell I'd tell him one more trip from the cops and he's gone for the year.
I actually applaud the way Goodell has been running things. What basis do you have to make that outrageous claim? Do you know Brandon Marshall personally? Are you his neighbor? Are you his shrink? This guy just doesn't get it. Trying to get out of a very lenient suspension and showing no remorse.
The good thing is that he's learned he can get away with anything due to the commish being a softy so he'll probably keep beating woman and eventually get arrested and put in prison where he belongs.
Maybe Commish Softy gave him a joke of a suspension to allow Marshall slack so he'll screw up majorly in the future which will allow the NFL to suspend him for a couple years.
this isn't middle school. The NFL commissioners office has integrity.Or the league could be looking for payback for the embarassment of the Henry appeal...He has the same lawyer that won Henry's appeal so he could win.
Goodell is starting to seem a bit too Spitzerish.I'm glad he's taken a harder line. Some of the players' behavior was getting out of hand. But the pendulum might have swung too far.“If you read the policy it says you have to have one prior incident coupled with the commissioner finding that in fact there was misconduct in violation of the policy. And there’s no way for this commissioner to have made that decision if he was dealing in a fair and even-handed manner.”
I've had the police to my house zero times. The Denver police have Marshall's address programmed into their GPS's.This guy just doesn't get it. Trying to get out of a very lenient suspension and showing no remorse.

Doesn't take a genius to realize he's a nut job.
And yes, you will dominate with that group of WR's, until Marshall screws up badly and gets a few years in the clink. Well i guess you'll still have solid WR's with the J's, but marshall won't be part of that group long term unless you play in prison FF leagues.

LOL. yeah punish greater than the undeserved crime so then when a lawyer appeals a relatively baseless suspension, you can get it down to a greater charge. I love that that's the "lesson" here. The "lesson" is that what pro athl;etes say all the time IS true. That there are people (women, ex-gfs, skanks, and just dudes in a bar- see charles barkley) who target NFL players and play off the fact that they have public images.Godell should learn from this and the next time he needs to suspend a guy just tack on an additional game or two, so when the lawyer comes in to get it reduced, the reduction will end up being what Goodell wanted in the first place anyway.
