DID I GET ROBBED? CAN I ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK? (1 Viewer)

I am the only new member in this ten man league I joined last week. Before the draft we went over the scoring system. I was happy to draft Jamal Charles with the 7th pick. A few days after the draft I learned something wasnt explain to me. It was a pass per completion league and big play bonus league. Needles to say its a quarterback league Brady scored 112 points, brees 82 points and rodgers 65 points. Had I known that Qbs wold be rewarded so heavily for having 300 yaqrd games I would have drafted Brady or Rivers in 1st round or I would have not drafted at all. We spent 15 mintes going over the points and ppc or bonuses passing yards was not mentioned. Am I wrong to ask for my money back?

Who's your QB1? Who's your QB2? There should still have been decent options after the top three or four QBs were selected.

Needles to say.

If this is an online league all the rules should be posted for you to view. If it isn't an online league then they should be printed out. If the scoring rules weren't explained fully to you and there was no print out or online place to view them, then you have a beef. You say you spent 15 minutes going over points? Was this at the draft? If you're just finding out the leagues scoring system at the draft then it's your bad.

There was no written rules the points was verbally said. And I never heard of a ppc rules so I didnt ask the question. But if youre in a league that quarterbacks on average score 3 times as much as other leagues it should be made known. My qbs are Stafford and Big Ben but thats not the point its that vital information wasnt made known to me.

No matter the scoring system, the difference between the top QB in the league vs the tenth best QB isn't going to be enough to "Rob" you, and the difference will be made up by Charles and anyone else you might have smartly drafted.

I have never been in a league where you only have a chance to win if you draft top in the top three or four.

Stop whining and enjoy your fantasy football season for Christ's sake.

You can ask for your money back, and they can laugh at you. I'm willing to wager that somewhere within this story there is an exclusion of a fact or two.

You didnt read the rules or ask question and you want your money back? There is always one.....
You cant read the rules if they werent there to read. When going over the scoring system that was kept in the dark. What if I had a league that gave Te triple points and defenses triple points but failed to mention it. And you dont grab a Te and D until the 9th and 10th round. Would you fill cheated?

Your QBS are fine, I wouldn't start up too much drama there. Stafford is looking golden and Ben just had a bad game.

I have a league where the rules are established, but they meet 30 minutes before the draft (it is in-person) to discuss any scoring change suggestions. In 2010, a couple of guys (myslef included) wanted to radically change things, and of course, since we were about to draft no one wanted to (makes sense). So this year, I made a suggestion via email on a Monday and it got little discussion going. I went away on vacation, printed my cheatsheet out, and found out just as we started the draft (I was the only guy on the phone), that they changed it from .25 PPR to .5 PPR...not a big deal, but when a WR in this league gets 6 catches for 55 yards, he used to get 3.5 points...now he ends up with 5...again not a huge deal, but when you are talking a league where 110 points almost guaranteed victory, each point adds up quickly.

Are you guys serious? Why would I lie to screen names in random places on the planet. I was invited to be in a league I showed up, we went over the rules and drafted in person. later i was given the website after all the teams was entered into the computer. Then i realize that this was a mickey mouse league and that info wasnt made known to me. Quarterbacks scoring 3 times as much as I'm use to. I'm not hiding anything I feel like I got stuck up or trick.

Before I join any league or pay an entry fee I ask for ALL the rules. Every league I'm in has them listed on the website. If there were no written rules you should have done your due diligence to get ALL of the facts.

I understand your beef but consider it a lesson learned.

I'd say you just gotta take it like a man. I recently joined a league and thought I was clear on the starting lineups. I proceeded to make a trade for another RB to give me 2 starting RB's. I gave up a pretty decent LB and a 2012 2nd round pick. But to my dismay, after making the trade, you only start 1 RB in this league. So now I have a good RB sitting on my bench going to waste and I traded away valuable draft picks. I could have used that LB and draft pick to trade for a WR instead since we start 4 WR's. Ya live and ya learn.

Actually, I'm calling BS on this whole thing.

You say everyone knew this strange QB scoring rule but you, and yet with the seventh pick you chose Charles instead of Brady or Rivers. If your story was true, Brady and Rivers would have been long gone by the time you picked seventh.

You just made this whole story up to complain about your first round pick.

Nice :fishing:

If all TE's get triple points that doesnt mean you draft TEs earlier. Just like if all QBs get those bonus points you described doesnt mean you draft QBs earlier.

If you ask for the money back then offer to run the team till they can find a replacement or run it all season but if you finish in the money then you do not get any winnings. They could disperse that money to the other money winners or bump you from the playoffs and have the paying team with the next best record go into the playoffs.

So it is hosted on a website! Like I said before, your bad for not going to the website to read the rules before the draft. Anyone serious about competing in fantasy football will learn the rules prior to creating a cheatsheet and draft strategy. It's your mistake for not going to the website and doing this well before any draft.

I'm fine with my pick in the league that I thought I was drafting in.Turns out its a different league. Rivers and Brady was on the board. The bottom line I never heard of 300yard bonus, 350 bonus, ppc and I would have taken a quarterback more proven then a second year qb and a qb on a run happy team. Has anyone else heard of such rules? I never heard of qbs scoring 112 and my other league he scored 40.

Website wasnt given out until the draft was over. When the rules was being discuss I ask question about return yards, defense scoring? Alot of info was put out that was pretty standard the bonus part and ppc wasnt given out. If you only get half the truth you was lied to.

you learned a valuable lesson - not quit complaining, suck it up, make some shrewd trades and free agent pickups and try to win the league

you're a schmuck to ask for your $$ back because everyone was at the same disadvantage as you right?

suck it up, play hard, play to win - lesson learned

You're wrong you draft according to how scoring works. Yo want to score the most points. You dont draft San Fran defense 1st overall because you live in California. Your draft is usually determined by scoring rules.

what were the first 7 picks? obviously some other owners took RBs if Brady and Rivers were on the Board at 7. If that's the case you're not behind the curve.

I'm trying to find a sliver of hope here bro?

How much is the league?

How did you hear about it? Are these friends?

Was Bernie Madoff present? Sorry, bad joke buddy.

 If tight ends are rewarded triple points and other positions are not, you better prioritize tight ends more than you normally would.

I'm sorry, your posts just aren't making me take your side. You should have looked out for yourself and done your due diligence. You don't sound like the type to cover all your bases. Your horrible grammar isn't helping that perception.

Why would you ever join a money league with no written rules? Even in leagues with written rules, there is usually one 'problem' per year. I can't imagine what it would be like if the rules were just verbal.

Youre probably right. I was the only new member and thats my beef that when the rules was explained that was left out and to me I have to ask why. And to the clown who's attacking my screen name. I served my country for 10 years as Combat Medic including one year tour in Baghdad. I'm asking a question, is it just to ask for my money back? so I appreciate all of your input but keep your insults I have no reason to lie or event a story. Vital information wasnt given to me in whole and is it my fault or theirs? Thats all.

Typical lack of accountability.

If I join a league, I request a copy of the leauge's rules/scoring WELL before the damn draft. To not do so is asinine.

This is on you for not preparing properly.

You should postpone your bellyaching until after watching Stafford tear up the Chiefs defense this weekend. Between that and Big Ben coming back to form on your bench I'm guessing by Monday you'll be giddy about your QB's.

Again idiot I dont want or need you to take my side I'm just asking for your opinion. I'm not at work at a job interview I'm in my underwear typing on a net book. Who cares about my grammar.

125. A friend. Not close friend but a friend. Don't wanna damage our friendship so I probably make my complaint known and move on with the league. No Madoff was not there lol.

Then quit complaining. I would have drafted Steve Smith and Mike Tolbert too if I knew they were going to blow up week 1.

I'm not complaining I'm asking a question. My issue is not because someone did well. It's that this league have freakish scoring rules that waskept from me. How many points did Brady score in your league? Okay take that and times it by 3. thats what he scored in mine.
