you misspelled ###You can eat my ###. How was that grammar?Rivers and Brady WERE on the boardRivers and Brady was on the board. When the rules WERE explained:smoo:my beef that when the rules was explained that was left out and to me I have to ask why.

When you're expecting us to believe that you did all you could to learn the rules of the league you joined, but were lied to and bamboozled, but can't type an entire sentence correctly...it doesn't help you out, and it effects my opinion. Because my opinion here isn't about right or wrong. Its about whether I believe that you did do everything in your power to do the intelligent thing and learn the rules before drafting. And I don't. Your posts don't help.Again idiot I dont want or need you to take my side I'm just asking for your opinion. I'm not at work at a job interview I'm in my underwear typing on a net book. Who cares about my grammar.I'm sorry, your posts just aren't making me take your side. You should have looked out for yourself and done your due diligence. You don't sound like the type to cover all your bases. Your horrible grammar isn't helping that perception.
What I'm trying to explain is that with different scoring comes a different rank system. My league is a QB league which means that if I have a Qb throw for 250 yards 2 td and a pick (42pts) he would score more than Ray Rice 160 yards rushing and 2 tds (33pts). So every starting qb is better than any rb. The scoring rules makes rbs less important and reliable and high performing qbs more important. Had I known the rules I would have drafted a qb 1st round. So when Charles rips it I can expect 30 to 35 points. When Brady or Rivers throw for 300 yards they get 50 points. Had I know this I would have went with the points.I just don't see what your beef is. If you drafted Rivers, you would have scored the same amount of points as pretty much any other QB outside of Brady, Henne, Brees and Newton. I highly doubt you would have drafted Henne or Newton, so your only complaint is that you could have drafted Brady but "Didn't know the rules". That seems like a petty little complaint to me, and certainly no reason to ask for your money back, or even complain to other league mates.
Rules were verbally read and pass per completion and bonus passing yards was left off.You drafted without reading the scoring and are complaining about the ramifications?![]()

Conn is very right here. How can a guy who can't type a coherent sentence honestly expect people to believe he did what he could to know the rules? Although ConnSkins - you want "affect" in this case, not effect. Also, your last sentence should be "it's". So if you're going to make the "your grammar is an indicator of other things about you" argument, make sure yours is perfect. (Laws of Karma would say that there is now a typo in my post that I won't catch, but whatever...)ArmyVet - you really sound like you messed up the due diligence. I have a league like this - where the rules were read out loud - as well; but the league is still tracked on a site, there are written copies of the rules, and the site shows the scoring system. If I left out scoring completely when I told my league about the rules, I would still expect everyone to know them because THEY ARE VISIBLE ON THE SITE (among other places). When you're expecting us to believe that you did all you could to learn the rules of the league you joined, but were lied to and bamboozled, but can't type an entire sentence correctly...it doesn't help you out, and it effects my opinion. Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that every post has to be a grammatical perfection before you post it.Just an FYI Armyvet, the way that you're responding to people is going to earn you a time out pretty quickly on these boards. I'm guilty of getting heated myself, but they're fairly strict around here in most cases. Calling people an idiot and telling them to eat your ### is a quick ticket to a timeout.

I don't think you get it. Damn. Nice catches. It's just required by the laws of the Internet that if you criticize someone's spelling or grammar, you will no doubt make a mistake yourself.
Sorry, I think this is on you. I would never start drafting, or even prepare to draft, until I had full scoring rules in hand. It's conceivable if you were the only newby that they did not go out of their way to educate the other participants on scoring specifics they were well aware of. Don't sit back and wait for someone to hold your hand. Ask for full scoring first, and then prepare your draft for that scoring. Sounds like you were winging it, and that's on you.Rules were verbally read and pass per completion and bonus passing yards was left off.You drafted without reading the scoring and are complaining about the ramifications?![]()
Oh yeah I could have asked for a print out but to be honest I didnt know something this big could be left out. It probably was an innocent mistake on their part beer was on the menu. Learn and move on but can you imagine the shock when i realize that 1 player scored 112 points in my other league 120 points equals a win. My main argument is that something so unique should have been the first thing explained not the one thing left out.Conn is very right here. Back in 1996, I was naive as hell. I came back fresh as a college grad, and received an inviteinto the league I had wanted to join for a few years. This was before the Internet explosion andthese were all "buddies"Similarly, rules were read at the draft. nothing was being run on-line like it is today.I had prepped as most guys do, grab rbs! So I did, and fell flat on my face that year.I learned all kinds of rulings and parameters during the season, that were not covered at the draft. My point in explaining this is that:When it comes to money, some guys just don't give a rat's behind. Desperate guys do desperate things.Secondly, you're the new guy. Not all folks are gonna bend over backwards to explain every intricate detailThey stated it, so in their minds, it was covered.Entry fee was $250.00. So in my case, it hurt, a lot. I did not have a real job, but man, Iwanted in that league so bad, bc that's all we talked about at Flag football, softball, golf, everything was the FF League. So, I'd finish by stating:You may have to take your lumps this year. But anything involving money, and not having a scoring system or constitution online and available before the draft would have raised a red flag for me.I'd bring it up to your friend as well, but pushing it is gonna be sour grapes at this point. Casually mention it, and move on.Similar to others, I think Stafford is going to be a gem for you. Your very own lack of knowledge of the rules may have helped you draft your team?Lastly, Thank You for serving and fighting for our freedom. Good Luck to your season bro.125. A friend. Not close friend but a friend. Don't wanna damage our friendship so I probably make my complaint known and move on with the league. No Madoff was not there lol.I'm trying to find a sliver of hope here bro?How much is the league? How did you hear about it? Are these friends? Was Bernie Madoff present? Sorry, bad joke buddy.

This isn't necessarily true. If it was a start 2 QB league with that scoring, what you're saying would be true. If QB scoring is that extravagant but you still only start one, then ALL QBs scores are inflated making them no more valuable than they are in any other league. This week, fourteen (14!) QBs threw for over 300 yards, with such notable names in there as Rex Grossman, Chad Henne, Kevin Kolb and Kyle Orton. Yes you had your usual suspects of Brady, Rivers, Brees, Romo, Rodgers, etc. throwing for over 300 yards, but if you can use a QB that was either drafted very late or not at all and get approximately the same score from them, they are no more valuable. So, loading up at RB and WR early in the draft and grabbing a 2nd tier QB is probably a much better strategy in this league anyway. If you aren't familiar with Joe Bryant's principle of Value Based Drafting (VBD), I highly recommend you read it.http://www.footballguys.com/05vbdrevisited.htmAlso, the first thing you should ask as a new member to a league is "Are there any scoring tweaks that are unique to this league I should be aware of?" If they answer no and don't tell, you it's on them. Should they have told you about this scoring rule? Sure. Should you have asked if there were any bonuses etc.? Absolutely! What I'm trying to explain is that with different scoring comes a different rank system. My league is a QB league which means that if I have a Qb throw for 250 yards 2 td and a pick (42pts) he would score more than Ray Rice 160 yards rushing and 2 tds (33pts). You're wrong you draft according to how scoring works. Yo want to score the most points. You dont draft San Fran defense 1st overall because you live in California. Your draft is usually determined by scoring rules.
You guys never heard of VBD obviously. If sacks were worth 100 pts each doesnt mean Id draft a defense first. If tight ends are rewarded triple points and other positions are not, you better prioritize tight ends more than you normally would.
Why would I lie? The rules wasnt giving out completely. In my opinion the biggest scoring rule was left out. The question is it just to ask for a refund? All the other stuff since I cant type a sentence I can't remember. Since I don't use periods on a blog im not intelligent enough to ask about the rules. Are you serious I can guarantee you that you will never say that to a person face to face. Have fun internet Gansta.I'm not calling anybody names. In fact, it was you who called me an idiot. To answer your question then: No. It is not just to ask for a refund. You screwed up. You didn't ask questions. You didn't do the due diligence. From everything you have posted, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you were informed and simply forgot. It's not about toughness. I sure as hell lack that. It's not about judging you or your grammar. It's the simply fact that an inability to effectively make your point takes away from the point itself. And it's "your" toughness. I have not called you anything. I have simply pointed out that your inability to type coherently is damaging the points you make. You can do what you like with that advice, but it will help you be more successful in life outside the internet as well, especially since it isn't just typos and apostrophes you miss, but verb tenses as well. Learning when to use "was" and "were" will help you in real life contacts with other people as well. I know for sure that fi I were to be interviewing someone and they used the phrase "If you was..." I would immediately drop them to the bottom of my hiring list.Again I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking is it just to ask for a refund. I'm not asking you to judge my grammar. Youre not my professor or my boss because I'm out of school and self employed so move on and get a life and stop reading random post for grammatical errors.
ETA: It could be that you have an amazing, or even eidetic memory...but nobody would know that because of how you represent yourself with your typing.
:whooshThanks for the heads up. I didn't know that every post has to be a grammatical perfection before you post it.Just an FYI Armyvet, the way that you're responding to people is going to earn you a time out pretty quickly on these boards. I'm guilty of getting heated myself, but they're fairly strict around here in most cases. Calling people an idiot and telling them to eat your ### is a quick ticket to a timeout.
fixed.Always look at the league settings before giving money to join the league.Always look at the league settings before the draft..
Unless of course the tight ends getting triple points can be flexed - in which case having a TE flex instead of a WR would be valuable.
I obviously agree with shadyridr here 100%.Never heard of VBD please explain? If you're saying that they will cancel out what if there's only 4 defenses that get over 50 sacks a year and the rest get 30 or fewer? Then you will draft a defense first. You're wrong you draft according to how scoring works. Yo want to score the most points. What scoring system did you base your original rankings on if you didn't know the scoring system in advance?
My point here is that you apparently didn't do any "homework" prior to the draft - either in regards to rankings, projections, etc. nor did you even inquire about the scoring system until the day of the draft (and wouldn't have had time to adjust/produce rankings at that point). In that regard, no, IMHO you have no basis on which to ask for your money back. For all we know the other 9 guys are only involved in this league and presume (just as wrongly as you did) that the scoring system they use is actually the norm.i wouldn't have joined if the rules was not in writingthere are no written rules?
It's linked in my post (#74) above.Never heard of VBD please explain? If you're saying that they will cancel out what if there's only 4 defenses that get over 50 sacks a year and the rest get 30 or fewer? Then you will draft a defense first.
Well lucky for me I will never be on that side of a job interview. Honesty, work ethicand dependability is what I require out of my employees. I can carless if they type on a blog using " 4th grade grammar " or if they say yall or yous. I was or I were does it really matter in this setting. Language changing rather yall like it or not.To answer your question then: No. I dont take these post serious as you. And I don't care what you think of me or my grammar so draw whatever beliefs you want and call me what ever you like. One thing I know for sure is that this is make believe land and this is where the geeks can be tough. So enjoy you're toughness in make believe land.I don't think you get it. People apply weight to your words based on personality, appearance, whether you seem like you understand the subject you're discussing...on an internet forum all they see is what you type. And what you type says, "Hey. I want sympathy for not knowing my league's scoring, but I can't even type decent English at a 4th grade level, so maybe you should be questioning whether or not my claims are true. Maybe I WAS told the scoring but I wasn't paying attention, or I forgot. After all...you've seen I lack the ability to express myself at a high level in English, so maybe I just don't have the greatest memory either."What you type and how you type it reflects upon you. Obviously but Scoring system is still important. If you have 3 or 4 tight ends ranked in tier 1 and then you project a huge gap between the next tier, then a scoring system that is weighted heavily towards tight ends will (should) impact your strategy. You may draft a tight end one round earlier than you would in a normal scoring system to ensure that you get a guy in the top tier. You're wrong you draft according to how scoring works. This is sad. Not only do you not get it in fantasy football, but it's looking like you don't necessarily get it in life, either.Good luck, with that outlook. You're lucky that you're already self-employed. Thank you thats what I've been trying to explain that because of the scoring rule that I didn't know it threw everything out of wack. Can you tell me what Brady scored in you league he scored 112 in mine. My other league 40 points big difference. You'd want to prioritize tiers more importantly, not necessarily the position overall. If the Brady/Brees/Rodgers/Vick tier (example only) had a 20ppg avg and the next tier an average of 16ppg, that's a 4ppg difference. But if the rules heavily favour QBs (let's say triple their points), then that 4 becomes a 12ppg, which is huge, and you definitely want to make sure you take a top tier QB.As for the OP, I don't know. You could certainly try to withdraw, though there's not much you can do if they refuse to hand you back the entry fee beyond sucking it up.
nothing is guaranteed I agree, thats why this idiot with a 4th grade education have his investments spread out. Until they start giving away gas for free and giving away free homes my companies will be around. And you're right english was never my favorite subject it was math. This is sad. Not to mention your first point. If that's all you look for in employees, then I'm going to assume that its unskilled labor. Those jobs are never guaranteed to stick around, and neither is the job you have: supervising them, I assume.
