don't mean to pile on but i won't even consider joining a new league until I have had a chance to read the rules. No written rules that can be sent to me or can't point me to where they are on the web.. i am not in. Hope the league fees are not too high and consider this a lesson learned. Good Luck!Typical lack of accountability. If I join a league, I request a copy of the leauge's rules/scoring WELL before the damn draft. To not do so is asinine. This is on you for not preparing properly.
You must have missed the day when they taught you how to multiply by 3.nothing is guaranteed I agree, thats why this idiot with a 4th grade education have his investments spread out. Until they start giving away gas for free and giving away free homes my companies will be around. And you're right english was never my favorite subject it was math. This is sad. Not only do you not get it in fantasy football, but it's looking like you don't necessarily get it in life, either.Good luck, with that outlook. You're lucky that you're already self-employed. If you were entering the work-force now with this attitude, you wouldn't do very well.Well lucky for me I will never be on that side of a job interview. Honesty, work ethicand dependability is what I require out of my employees. I can carless if they type on a blog using " 4th grade grammar " or if they say yall or yous. I was or I were does it really matter in this setting. Language changing rather yall like it or not.To answer your question then: No. It is not just to ask for a refund. You screwed up. You didn't ask questions. You didn't do the due diligence. From everything you have posted, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you were informed and simply forgot. It's not about toughness. I sure as hell lack that. It's not about judging you or your grammar. It's the simply fact that an inability to effectively make your point takes away from the point itself. And it's "your" toughness. I have not called you anything. I have simply pointed out that your inability to type coherently is damaging the points you make. You can do what you like with that advice, but it will help you be more successful in life outside the internet as well, especially since it isn't just typos and apostrophes you miss, but verb tenses as well. Learning when to use "was" and "were" will help you in real life contacts with other people as well. I know for sure that fi I were to be interviewing someone and they used the phrase "If you was..." I would immediately drop them to the bottom of my hiring list.Again I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking is it just to ask for a refund. I'm not asking you to judge my grammar. I dont take these post serious as you. And I don't care what you think of me or my grammar so draw whatever beliefs you want and call me what ever you like. One thing I know for sure is that this is make believe land and this is where the geeks can be tough. So enjoy you're toughness in make believe land.I don't think you get it. People apply weight to your words based on personality, appearance, whether you seem like you understand the subject you're discussing...on an internet forum all they see is what you type. And what you type says, "Hey. I want sympathy for not knowing my league's scoring, but I can't even type decent English at a 4th grade level, so maybe you should be questioning whether or not my claims are true. Maybe I WAS told the scoring but I wasn't paying attention, or I forgot. After all...you've seen I lack the ability to express myself at a high level in English, so maybe I just don't have the greatest memory either."What you type and how you type it reflects upon you. It affects your credibility. It effects a response in others regarding the content of your posts. That's reality, and it doesn't matter at what point in life you do it, you should think highly enough of yourself to care about how the things you say and the ways you say them affect your image - especially if you're asking for sympathy from people.Listen I dont care if you dont like that I'm not using periods and apostrophes. If this was a paper and you was my professor or a report and you was my boss that will be different. Youre not my professor or my boss because I'm out of school and self employed so move on and get a life and stop reading random post for grammatical errors. When you're expecting us to believe that you did all you could to learn the rules of the league you joined, but were lied to and bamboozled, but can't type an entire sentence correctly...it doesn't help you out, and it effects my opinion. Because my opinion here isn't about right or wrong. Its about whether I believe that you did do everything in your power to do the intelligent thing and learn the rules before drafting. And I don't. Your posts don't help.Again idiot I dont want or need you to take my side I'm just asking for your opinion. I'm not at work at a job interview I'm in my underwear typing on a net book. Who cares about my grammar.I'm sorry, your posts just aren't making me take your side. You should have looked out for yourself and done your due diligence. You don't sound like the type to cover all your bases. Your horrible grammar isn't helping that perception.
ETA: It could be that you have an amazing, or even eidetic memory...but nobody would know that because of how you represent yourself with your typing.
No refund. This is entirely on you.
Not to mention your first point. If that's all you look for in employees, then I'm going to assume that its unskilled labor. Those jobs are never guaranteed to stick around, and neither is the job you have: supervising them, I assume.
Sounds like you found the balance. There are going to be people who make assumptions. They shouldn't, but they do. We can pray for a better day, but you found a way to adapt and survive. That tells me more about you than does your grammar. Good on you.Thank you. To be honest My professions as a Army Medic, Land Lord and Retail Owner doesn't require me to be perfect in my grammar so yes it may be lacking. I'm not hear to argue with people about their prejudices. The product that I sale I was one of only 4 people that offered it and out the 4 although my prices was the lowest and my marketing fees the highest I sold less than all my competition. I notice that I got alot of calls that didn't panned out alot of no shows. I'm a black male and on the phone you can tell. I hired a white female to answer the phones and make appointments. My business tripled in 2 months and I'm opening my second store in March. Did it tripled because she spoke the King's English or because she was a white female? So yeah I'm use to the assumptions and prejudices and it doesn't bother me. The only color that matters to me is green.Very true. And they do so just as easily using the King's English.I've discovered over my lifetime that you are better off limiting assumptions about poor grammar to questions of education rather than intelligence, competence, ethics or morality.Nobody accused him of lying. I'm pretty sure he thinks that the likelihood of this person clearly presenting all the facts is proportional to his ability to communicate in English. Or that the likelihood that he did his due diligence is proportional to that.
Someone can tell a misleading or incomplete story without intending to do so and without lying.
Nobody thinks he's lying about where Brady was drafted, right? The idea is that Brady should've gone higher given what we are hearing.
But it's your mind. Assume away.
Ditto that! That's lame. But it's good to see you have thick skin about it and are focused on your goal. Nobody more annoying on the internet than grammar nazis who additionally pass judgment on those they're correcting. These people tend to be inadequate where it counts. As others have said, you should keep your team. And dedicate yourself to winning this league. Imagine the satisfaction after this. And thank you for serving.Thank you. To be honest My professions as a Army Medic, Land Lord and Retail Owner doesn't require me to be perfect in my grammar so yes it may be lacking. If you weren't making comments about his grammar, then I think you can safely ignore that post because it doesn't have anything to do with you. On the other hand, a couple of people have quite deliberately taken shots at him about his grammar and gone further by calling into question his competence or truthfulness based on his grammatical fluency. True story. 2 people offering the same product. one sales his product for a thousand the other for 800. The one that sale his product for 1000 is White. The one that sale his product for 800 is black. The one that is white sales 3 times as much as the one that is black. Although both business have similar locations and the black owner spends 3 times as much on advertising. Black owner insert White front person business triple in sales. I dont live in some little hick town big city, bright lights. Explain that for me? I said "you was" instead of "you were" so I can't be trusted I must have bad memory and lack the knowledge on how to research and inquire about a fantasy draft. Youre a racist rather you want to believe it or not. Just like the people that rather give a white man 1000 for the same product that I'm offering for 800. Why would my sales triple in 2 months? This covers it nicely. The only thing I would add is, in taking your lumps, go for the throat and win the money despite the improper / incomplete apprisal of the rules. I dumped a $$ league 2 years ago b/c of similar BS w/rules that weren't properly covered, written or even followed. Make smart moves, take the money, then say Ciao! and find better fantasy homes next year. The live draft w/friends, beers and WTFBBQ! is sometimes worth the BS but eventually it will hit a breaking point. Yours just happened in week one, that's all.My thanks for your service, too.'domvin said:Back in 1996, I was naive as hell. I came back fresh as a college grad, and received an inviteinto the league I had wanted to join for a few years. This was before the Internet explosion andthese were all "buddies"Similarly, rules were read at the draft. nothing was being run on-line like it is today.I had prepped as most guys do, grab rbs! So I did, and fell flat on my face that year.I learned all kinds of rulings and parameters during the season, that were not covered at the draft. My point in explaining this is that:When it comes to money, some guys just don't give a rat's behind. Desperate guys do desperate things.Secondly, you're the new guy. Not all folks are gonna bend over backwards to explain every intricate detailThey stated it, so in their minds, it was covered.Entry fee was $250.00. So in my case, it hurt, a lot. I did not have a real job, but man, Iwanted in that league so bad, bc that's all we talked about at Flag football, softball, golf, everything was the FF League. So, I'd finish by stating:You may have to take your lumps this year. But anything involving money, and not having a scoring system or constitution online and available before the draft would have raised a red flag for me.I'd bring it up to your friend as well, but pushing it is gonna be sour grapes at this point. Casually mention it, and move on.Similar to others, I think Stafford is going to be a gem for you. Your very own lack of knowledge of the rules may have helped you draft your team?Lastly, Thank You for serving and fighting for our freedom. Good Luck to your season bro.125. A friend. Not close friend but a friend. Don't wanna damage our friendship so I probably make my complaint known and move on with the league. No Madoff was not there lol.I'm trying to find a sliver of hope here bro?How much is the league? How did you hear about it? Are these friends? Was Bernie Madoff present? Sorry, bad joke buddy.

If you're seriously accusing Conn of being a racist based on him criticizing your grammar, you're way off base. And how does whether he's articulate or not make any real difference if the product and service he provides are just as good as the competitor's for $200 less?I'd argue that it doesn't. But the perception does, because some people won't believe the product and service are as good because of his communication skills. So then we come to the real question. Should he change to conform to an irrational perception or should those with an irrational perceptions conform to reality? What if both guys are black? And one speaks articulately while the other does not? And the first one is the more expensive one still? Take some responsibility for your actions instead of blaming it on your race, because it reflects poorly on the rest of us. I'd take my business to the guy who spoke well because I would assume that he had a better product. I could be wrong. EDIT: and I would hope he would do the same for me if he needed an operating system, because I hope that I represent myself and my company well with my actions and words.Your sales tripled because the person on your phone knew how to speak articulately.
