Did Marshall Faulk really say that? (1 Viewer)

he is NOT retired, feels great, knees are good, and that he would go back to the Rams if they take him but regardless he's coming back to the NFL?

YEPI wanted to aavoid a triple Honda, because that's big news I thought.Anyone think the Rams would take him back? (Homers check in, blablabla)

I don't really see the big deal. he was never retired in the first place. He has said all along that he wanted to play next year if his knee allowed it.

I guess I just figured his knee wouldn't. I'tll be nice seein (one of) the greatest of our generation come back for one more season if he can indeed play 100%.

Marshall and Priest should form their own team. Invite Eddie George and Thurman Thomas too. Jerry Rice and Cris Carter can be the wideouts.

Testaverde could be the QB

I was thinking Marino
or Joe Montana, Steve Young or John Elway but Vinny T?
I think he meant Vinny not from a talent standpoint, but from a recently retired/just came back point of view.

I have much love for Marshall but its just another case of former NFL players still stuck in the past thinking their time hasn't come yet. He really has nothing left to prove, hes proved that hes one of the best RB, he has a Ring and hes got a gig on NFL network and other places im sure. He is 33 year olds with knee problems.

If anything i can see him coming back to the rams as a coach, his football IQ has to be 2 million :D

Gotcha.. Although, I saw Cris Carter and Thurman Thomas on that list who have both been out of league for like 6 years and thought this guy might be a huge University of Miami fan, maybe a big time Jets fan or a fellow italian

I mentioned Carter and Thomas because both of them played 1 year after they retired (or should have retired). Carter, Thomas, George, Rice, Faulk, Holmes = guys who didn't know when to quit.

Cons:

- He turns 34 in February

- Doesn't he have some sort of degenerative knee issue

- He plays RB (34 y/o RB's don't fare so well in the NFL)

- He's obviously taken too many bong hits while on IR

- Would be returning to a team with a bad O-line

Pros:

- Hall of Famer

- Has access to some quality wacky weed

hopefully martz leaves a roster spot for him in 2007...
I doubt he'd wanna play for the Lions

am I wrong to think that Martz will be a head coach elsewhere next year?
not at all.... I could see (just not likely with the ford family) Millen is asked to leave ... and is asked to take Marenelli with him; his third head coach.... i like Rod fine... but if you were to put martz and him on the table and say "pick 1" who is your choice?? marrtz moves up, then no replacement needed otherwise... clean and cheap...

Team him up with Brett Favre- another great future HOF'er who would keep playing past his prime simply for love of the game.

He had 2 knee surgeries a few months ago. Let's see if he makes it through training camp first.

Yes. Those of you who keep thinking he is head coach material must not remember what he did to the Rams.
yes, they have been awesome without him....
