Did Mike Golic... (1 Viewer)

PT is i wasnt the fastest guy around. I got Beat. Lloyd Slinkark beat me a few times. In high school we both ran a 10.2 in the 100 meter but he won by a foot or so.. i was faster from the start he was a better runner. I never got a 40 time because there wasnt one thrn but that was my thing
Ok so I was mistakenly thinking meters instead of yards. But that still doesnt explain the age discrepancy and considering that a 9.5 would be in the top 70 for 100 yard dashes ever recorded, I think that would qualify as world class speed, no?
I agree. I thought i set a record in 1989 and they said no. I sprinted a few more meets and i was done. the point WAS if i got a HUGE paycheck i can run....
Still too many holes in your story but I'm done with it.Haynesworth is paid to collapse pockets, penetrate backfields, pressure QBs, occupy offensive lineman, and make tackles. Not run shuttle runs of distances that he will rarely have to do in games. And I'm not so much defending him as I am calling out the BS that I see flying everywhere.
Do you want my take?? its the public view

Uh, fellas? Can we keep our eye on the ball here? What I have gathered from this thread so far:

1. Haynesworth has not yet successfully completed the conditioning drill that an unprepared 47-year old did (more or less) successfully complete.

2. For all of you Haynesworth apologists--this is 300 meter SHUTTLE. It's not a sprint. It is bursts of exertion, followed by rest. Sound like a conditioning drill that might be compatible with playing the position of, oh, I don't know--DEFENSIVE TACKLE?

3. This is clearly a power play between Shanahan ("I'm the coach, and we'll do things my way...") and Haynesworth ("I'll do what I damn well want to do when I want to do it...").

Overall--good for Shanahan. I don't like the guy at all, but Haynesworth took a lot of money from this team and is acting like a total ####. I would hold his feet to the fire, too.

For those of you sticking up for Albert, ask yourself this--why do Haynesworth's teammates think that he is pretty much a piece of ####? (for reference, see London Fletcher)

True IMO he wont make it.

Sounds like Golic really didn't make it...

and I believe Haynesworth just barely missed the time the other day.

Not that he's really earned it, but I'm giving Albert the benefit of the doubt... I know what a sore knee is like.

Golic...lol Seriously, it really dont matter tho about his time, and it has nothing to do with nothing.

Haynesworth...is a nfl player, he should of made it no excuses. If you really think his knee is bad, ur just nieve...its all a joke this situation, just trade him, cut him, or let him play already.

Well look it up.9.5 isnt a record in my state. Indiana. If you want to run bring it on im 41 but if i streach i can run
When you run these sprints, do you tend to have your blue ox running next to you?

it's just a power struggle between haynesworth and shanahan. haynesworth could pass the test and shanahan could just as easily not make him take it
Not sure if you've heard or not, but Haynesworth has not been able to pass the test thus far. Shanny could let him not take it, but clearly he's not in any position to be on the practice field.
Maybe I read something from crush304's post other than what he meant... but I interpreted his statement to mean the power struggle is from Shanahan making Haynesworth take it... while Haynesworth is not trying to pass so he doesn't have to practice.Which brings up the point that "not having passed the test" and "not being able to pass the test" are not necessarily the same thing. Haynesworth might be able to pass it, but might not have actually wanted to or tried to. To see what I mean, look at how ESPN characterized his failed 6 test attempts so far:

The two-time All-Pro defensive tackle did not attempt the Washington Redskins conditioning test Tuesday. He won't be allowed to practice until he passes it.

Haynesworth tried to take the test Monday morning, but he pulled up after three back-and-forth sprints because he felt some irritation in his left knee.

Haynesworth failed the test on the first day of training camp Thursday after taking an extended bathroom break in the middle of it. He failed again Friday when he didn't post a sufficient time, then didn't take it Saturday or Sunday because of soreness in his left knee.
So out of 6 "attempts", 3 times he didn't even try to take it. Once he did 25% of it and stopped. Once he completed it but wasn't fast enough. And once he stopped in the middle of it to go to the bathroom!?!?Now I can't say definitively that Haynesworth is failing the test on purpose, using it to become such a headache for the Redskins that they give him the trade he wants. But the way events are playing out, that certainly does seem in the realm of possibility. Which I think is what crush304 was saying.

Tried to look it up and only found Indiana records for meters not yards. Care to provide a link to the Indiana 100 YARD record book?
State meet records Click on Progression of records for "yards"*Note: Beginning in 1980, all running events were conducted at metric distances. Records established prior to that year in non-metric events have been converted to their metric equivalents and are listed in the above chart. When these converted times are bettered in future state finals, the record holder for the English distance event will be maintained in the chart below under the Progression of Records category with the English event and record time. Events that are no longer contested at the state track and field meet also are listed below.

:confused:How is it good for Shanahan that the team might end up wasting all the money they spent on Haynesworth?
