Same here, he is the owner too. Worked together for 18 years. I have worked there longer than any other employee.Yes. He's a friend but doesn't hurt to kiss a little ### either.
He has everything he wants, so I went with the Starbucks card as he likes coffee and they are right up the street from our office. What did you do?Yes. He's a friend but doesn't hurt to kiss a little ### either.
At my wife's work they all pitch in and give a gift as a group. What's the "yes from group" option mean?
Well he did that, ie gave the company a bonus. Doesn't mean I can't show him appreciation on a lower scale.I assume the boss makes more money so it should be the other way around.
Yeah. Pretty much.I assume the boss makes more money so it should be the other way around.
Good enough.Well he did that, ie gave the company a bonus. Doesn't mean I can't show him appreciation on a lower scale.I assume the boss makes more money so it should be the other way around.

Just showing appreciation. I didn't went I got a turkey for a bonus at another company, I was like 26, knew the manager got 20k. It pissed me off plus it is not worth the hassle of keeping up with a defrosting piece of bacteria filled poultry all day that you have no place to put.I opted instead to donate money to a poor family that my company was collecting money for to buy them and their children gifts.
I gave 25% of my bonus. Wasnt a lot by any means but i was happy to do it.
Otherwise what the heck would i buy for a millionaire?

Rules are rules.Big no-no where I work. To bad because my boss is awesome. But it is strictly forbidden and we get the warning email ahead of time every year.
Would be my policy if i ever own a business.Rules are rules.Big no-no where I work. To bad because my boss is awesome. But it is strictly forbidden and we get the warning email ahead of time every year.![]()
I get that, I am 2nd in command so....plus I recommend what the company gives to all.I gave everyone on my team something, but never thought of giving anything to my boss. I always plan on passing down, not up?
Sort of along these lines. We do a group dirty Santa exchange.Big no-no where I work. To bad because my boss is awesome. But it is strictly forbidden and we get the warning email ahead of time every year.
You expected "no I hate the SOB!" to get 71%?Wow, I would have thought the poll results would be reversed.
This. I gave gift cards to stores I know my direct reports frequent. It was really easy since we're in IT and they're all huge gaming nerds. Most got Playstation Store cards, a card to a local board game store, or Amazon.com cards for the rest. Didn't get my boss anything.I gave everyone on my team something, but never thought of giving anything to my boss. I always plan on passing down, not up?
