PATH is my favorite. What a fantastic shot. That looks like a path I'd enjoy taking.jdoggydogg said:I haven't had many chances to take interesting pics over the last few months. But last weekend I visited Armstrong Woods - which is only 30 minutes away from me in Northern Cali. It's spectacular. The pics aren't easy to capture with my 8 MP point and shoot because on any given day the forest is super shady while the sky above is very bright.
Anyway, these were pretty decent:
Steam
Fallen
Moss
Columns
Path
Ferns
Split
Roots

My point and shoot does better with closeups than scenery. But I was happy with these:WavesThanks man, what an awesome place, seems like every pic me and the Mrs. took was a postcard. I was amazed my digital took such cool shots, I was pretty impressed with my little Samsung. That is stunning.![]()

It's funny that you have this pic too........the wife and I have been to Maui 3 times out of the past 5 years. I have one almost identical to this one. The only difference is the clouds above the sailboat that I took. I took my pic from a luau in Lahaina, just south of where you took yours.Great pic!
Nice capture.

Very overcast. Though the details on an overcast day are almost always better. You don't get the washed out look. The Flying Turtle said:Great pic. Too bad it wasn't a little brighter dayHellToupee said:my fave
Beautiful.

Nice work on the b&W
I like Lighthouse, nice bird fly-by.The last two are close, but the centering of the main object distracts from the overall image, IMO.Just found this thread. I'm starting to get more and more into photography. I would love some input on the following pictures.
Nassau Lighthouse
Lazy Day on the Beach
James Bond Beach
Thanks for the help snogger. I googled the rule of thirds and then started playing in photoshop. There is a big difference in cropping the main object away from the center.I like Lighthouse, nice bird fly-by.The last two are close, but the centering of the main object distracts from the overall image, IMO.Just found this thread. I'd suggest reading up on the "rule of thirds" as it really would have helped on those two shots.

Obviously that is the closest to the original and my favorite, but I wanted to try a few different things.A

I like your industrial works.
