I miss all three of those places.

I am not a dad, so obviously ill equipped to dole out advise for this high level event.  I guess making pizza or burgers or wings or mozzarella sticks or fried pickles at home together would be out of the question.

Not a dad, but my dog and I got an ever so rare night at the house without the ol' lady. I went to the store and picked 2 nice, thick Prime ribeyes, about a little over a pound each. Fired up the Kettle, and the dog and I both had a steak and nothing else (well, and beer, of course). 

Dinner with the wife is often similar, except she'll fuss if there's no grilled asparagus, corn or salad. And the dog doesn't get his own steak.

FWIW, I take my son to hibachi 2x a month just the two of us, sometimes more... He loves it. He's only 3.5 though.
