And do you think Ditka (or Chicago) cares if he's taken seriously. He's as genuine as the day is long.NO NFL rookie TE will ever touch his rookie receiving numbers and no coach will ever 'own' a city like Ditka (and the Bears) captivated Chicago back in that magical '85 season.

Seriously?Hell, Gates went for 81-964-13 in his second year, after not playing football since high school. If he'd been playing through college, would you really be surprised if he had topped Ditka's numbers his rookie year?
As for "owning" a city, that was 20+ years ago. Like I said, who outside of Chicago really cares?

Maybe Irvin would make more sense if he could just contain his yelling and emotional discussions. Tone of voice and body language has just as much to do with the delivery of a message than what comes out of your mouth.

I don't understand a word of Spanish, but the sports guys on Telemundo make more sense to me than Michael Irvin.
Don't think that's gonna impress Ditka too much considering he has a SB ring as coach, one as a player and a HOF ring for being considered among best ever at his position.

I don't know what you're talking about... Ditka won three championships: one as a player, one as an assistant coach and one as a head coach. Only one of two people to do it. Furthermore, he's in the Hall of Fame. So I conclude, Ditka >> Belichick

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Ditka was a champion as player, asst. coach and head coach - something Belichick will never achieve. And he got into the Hall of Fame a helluva lot quicker than Belichick will.

Lets be honest - Ditka won the Superbowl in '85 because the Patriots were overpowered in every aspect (and no Steve Grogan was an atrocious move), and that defense was already stacked with talent when he got there, its not like he coached up a bunch of players. He had Sweetness and Mike Singletary, and those guys were just the notable Hall of Famers! I don't remember the number but that team also had a sick number of Pro-bowlers, something like 7+. The Patriots annually have 1 or 2, and still manage to win Superbowls because of the Belichick/Brady combo.
