***Divisonal Round Playoff Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Just curious as to whether anyone else noticed that on the first 4th down attempt by the Colts, that after the play was over and San Diego had stopped them, that a San Diego player removed his helmet in celebration as he was running from the end zoneto the sideline! As a Browns fans we all remember the game against the Chiefs a few years back where D. Rudd removed his helmet after a missed field goal by the Chiefs thus receiving a 15yd penalty and letting KC go on to beat us!I replayed the play and couldn't beleive that there wasn't a flag!!Did they change the rule or did the refs just miss the call
Rudd took his helmet off while the play was still going. He thought Trent Green (?) was down and took it off. But Green didn't go down and scrambled for more yardage. It wasn't a FG attempt.eta: the penalty allowed KC one untimed play and the yardage put them in FG position. They made the kick and won.

I think they let some things go. If you notice on the Dallas Clark catch for the 1st down as they were driving on the 2nd to last drive, he caught the ball for a 1st and threw the ball down. The rest of the year, that is a flag for delay of game and it wasn't called there.

They stopped calling that as much mid season. But I have no idea what that has to do with the post FG helmet removal and how it was different from the Rudd example.

Now comes the week-long violin fest of excuses for the Chargers about how banged up they are in order to soften the loss against the Patriots. Boo-hoo.
Post like this are more annoying that any excuses that could be thrown out.
But didn't you already hear it starting Joe? They are already giving excuses about next week when this Colts game is barely in the record books.
Link? You may have been reading what you were wanting to read. See, the only ones in this thread talking about the Patriots are Patriots fans. The rest of us are talking about THIS GAME. The only mention of injuries has been applauding the Chargers for winning this game despite their key injuries, not making excuses about next week's game that hasn't even been played yet. :goodposting:
I was referring to Dierdorf and Greg's post-game assesment. They were already talking about "a banged up Chargers squad" going to New England.

Surprised at the lack of respect the Chargers are getting here. This is a very good team who played their best football the 2nd half of the season. I cannot wait for the game next week, should be a very good one. If nothing else, it should be pretty physical.
I do like the way the Chargers play football. I just don't think they match up very well with NE. Especially as beat up as they are now.
...and this one.

The guy was just stating his opinion.....not making excuses. You are reading way too much into things.

You mean the one that was posted almost an hour after you made your "excuses" comment?

I don't get this complaint of yours. Are the chargers not banged up?

No surprise that Stat is already barking about next week in an effort to deflect attention from the fact that he thought the Colts would win in a cakewalk today.Nice try Stat...

That wasn't it. After the the last incomplete it was more of a "who farted" look.
I can see that. Definitely a tough incompletion and a tough way to end your season. Clark had the same look I think.J
Yeah, sometimes Hi Def isn't better.

nicely done by Rivershe's looking much better than last week
:goodposting: :lmao: :hot:
I guess you were expecting me to have the same opinion of his play every game forever?I said that in the first half, BTW.
Rivers is now 27-8 as a starting NFL QB, 2-1 in the playoffs. Glad to see you've come around in game 35.
How would you know how I feel about Rivers until last week? Never mentioned him on here until then.I was actually a big Rivers fan until middle of this year. So I've been on his side for about 25 of those 35 games.

Dude, you were comparing Rivers to Ryan Leaf last week.

Just trying to keep the attention on what I've been saying for about 7 weeks now. No one is going to beat the Patriots this season, and that's that.

Seven weeks??I've been trying to tell people since week #2 that loss SD had in NE wasn't the big deal everyone was trying to make it out to be... they really are that much better than anyone else. I've never seen a team play as well as NE has played this year when you consider all the teams they beat and I've never seen a QB play like Brady this season.
