I'm sure the DNC was pulling for large turnouts since the higher the turnout was in a state the more likely Clinton was to win.

I also get why everyone's upset and agree 100% the DNC was trying to have its cake and eat it too by allowing Sanders to run as a Dem (to head off a 3rd party campaign) and then treating him as an outsider.  (The same can be said for Sanders in reverse of course.)

The other side of the coin is that being deeply tied to the party apparatus, placing loyalists in key positions, and generally bending the party to your will are great skills for a political leader to have.  It was a bit ham-handed and tone-deaf in this case (especially with private communications being released), but at its heart it's a feature, not a bug.

Not really buying the Russian connection. 

I know, it supposedly helps Hillary to put it out there, and I suppose anything's possible- but I'm just not really big on these types of conspiracy theories whether they come from the left or the right. 

 
It's a mistake at this point for DWS to speak in any capacity. It might have made sense before she was pressured to resign. Now, unfortunately, she's become poison. She should not be on that stage.

It's the Schultz getting int he way, helping Trump clip. I linked it because of the 60 Minutes interview...Clinton saying she has no idea...those words came flying out of her mouth, what a huge bold faced LIE...LIES LIES LIES

This is just going to get worse and worse as they get closer to November. There is nothing shiny about Clinton or anything surrounding her campaign. Only her more staunch supporters can even pretend to be excited right now. 

If Hilary didn't know, she really shouldn't be President. She can't abide by simple FBI email guidelines, Russia may have compromised her server and they're diving into DNC emails, she is incompetent.

It is hard to tell her what to do since she holds all the cards right now.  Why do you think HRC is kissing her ####?  She can ruin HRC in one minute.

Even a late minute switch, which would look bad in and of itself, would look a ton better and serve as a hedge against just trotting her out on stage with all that's going on with the WikiLeaks emails. I'm kind of shocked she's still going to appear, pretty brazen on the part of the DNC. On a juvenile level she'll get "Crying Jordan'ed" if Bernie supporters boo her on national TV, and at worst it's ammo for the other side and takes away from displaying party unity.

New DNC boss also bashed Sanders in leaked emails




Just two months ago, on May 22, Brazile fired a message to DNC communications director Luis Miranda after Sanders endorsed Wasserman Schultz’ primary opponent, and Miranda forwarded Brazile the text of Wasserman Schultz’ statement.

“I saw it this am. How stupid. Don't know how to respond to Bernie anymore,” Brazile wrote.

In another email released by WikiLeaks, Brazile declined a Washington Post interview request two months ago because she was worried what she might say about Sanders’ campaign.

I've been saying it for a long, long time.  An independent could win this election.  I'm not saying they will, as the right candidate might not emerge.  But with both parties in shambles atm, a 3rd party could win, if the person was influential enough.  I know it's late...but it's possible.

Johnson is at 13% now and needs to be at 15% to be in the debates. He could win if he makes the debates.

Win? No. Now if he could win enogh states to keep the electoral college out of reach of the others then we can all get the establishment moderate republican everyone wanted awhile back.

Russia is the prime suspect, it's not a conspiracy as much it is Russia trying to control world affairs.  Why would that be different from anything else they've done for centuries?

As despicable as Clinton is, has she suggested something as insane as abandoning ####### NATO?!?! That is so frightening in itself, that we should abandon our allies, and who benefits the most from that??

I despise Clinton but she can go ahead and turn the White House into her own personal ATM for all I care if the alternative is a pro-Russia authoritarian nutbag who will tell our allies to go to hell and let Putin run roughshod over Europe.

This is really what I am hoping for right now - get to 15%, get him in the debate to keep both Trump and Clinton on their toes.

He really should be doing more grassroots stuff, or spending as much as he can to keep himself in the news so that he gets the 15%.

 
Invoking the Russians with no evidence is Wag the Dog worthy misdirection... but ultimately no one buys it but the most strident die hards...

I do get a laugh out of seeing how the Dems laughed and looked down their nose at Melania's lifted words.... how quickly would they sign for that level of scandal

Yep.  That is more than enough reason for some to name Johnson when they are polled, even if they have no intention of actually voting for him.

 
I'm not voting for Trump, but I do find it interesting he's been harping on the system is rigged for quite a long time.

When the breach of the DNC servers first happened, Russia was suspected.  This was weeks ago, before any DNC Chairman emails were released.

 Anyone not giving it some consideration is an ignorant, strident Hillary hater unwilling to move their obtuse world views.  No one is saying the RNC used Russian as an attack dog here, wake up. 

 
Party Politics and these political machines in general are the worst. Does anyone doubt for a second that there aren't RNC members with similar emails about trying to stop Trump or later for Kasich just to pull out already and give Cruz a fighting chance, etc. It is about the machine, not the candidate. Trump and Bernie represented major disruptions to the status quo. I think there is debate to be made whether that disruption is positive or negative to the general public, but it certainly is a negative for the high level party members.

In theory, all you need is one electoral vote for someone besides Clinton or Trump. The House gets to choose from the top 3.

Utah is usually a pretty wacky state. They would be open to picking a non-Clinton/Trump candidate. Plus you've got Maine and Nebraska, which allocate electors by district. So, in theory you would just need to focus all of your attention on one area, and win the elector from that district.

You've also got the possibility of a Faithless Elector going rogue and picking Gary Johnson or whoever.

 
People acting aghast at the DNC supporting candidates one way or another: the DNC isn't some independent agency. By definition, people within that organization are going to support Democrats. Sometimes one over another. Oh, the outrage!

I already posted that people don't like to have candidates decided before the votes are cast. So if you're a democrat who supported someone other than Hillary, I hear ya. If you're not, get out of town with the "oh my gosh" moment.

He's entertaining....sure...but he'll be a horrible president. 

(And note, although I'm HRC, I'm not in love with her).

the reason they put this stuff out there is A LOT of people buy it.   Or at least a significant enough portion of the population buys it to obfuscate the story.   Because the story is damaging, they don't want to talk about it.  They want people to talk about something, anything else.

Real answer:  It doesn't

DNC Answer: Russia hacked us to make us look bad, and to influence American politics - thus, you can clearly not drink the wine in front of Trump
