Holmes did post 15 in PPR leagues btw...very much in line with what his trend has been...and all QBs throw for less than 200 yds this week and no TDs, Big Ben will be the #1 QB

Greetings everyone,I was watching the game downstairs, wanted to take it all in before I posted. I certinly am never above eating some well deserved crow but I do have a question for the SP if you would be so kind. What did the weather have to do with Big Ben absorbing 8 sacks tonight? That OL should be fired. If a RB can be benched for fumbling, what do you do with this OL? Did Big Ben hold the ball too long? Why couldn't they run on Cleveland?I didn't see 1 pass, not 1 punt, not 1 FG attempt either where "wind" made a dang bit of difference. Are you all going to tell me that if this game was played in my home city of Miami that the outcome would have been much different?Just curious...oh and please pass the crow, thanks.![]()
then you haven't watched many steeler games...disclaimer:I'm a diehard steeler fan since the early 70'sp00h said:ugh, hope you guys sat your steelers. ummmmm...yummy!!!Actually Ben threw it quite a few times downfield. Holmes was groped about every time. Ron Winters was on top of the action all night...poor guy, how did he draw this game out of the hat?The weather changed the game plan. Do you recall any ANY(!) throws downfield? Rob Ryan used the wind to his advantage & gameplanned short ball.Greetings everyone,I was watching the game downstairs, wanted to take it all in before I posted. Did the wind prevent them from blocking? And no seperation by the WRs either...where did the wind play a factor? Seriously...Redd lined up to kick a 42 yd FG...he nailed the thing right down the middle with room to spare...where was this heavy wind?Greetings everyone,I was watching the game downstairs, wanted to take it all in before I posted. really unbelievable, even for MOP
i dunno man. Even with the season they've had, this game is a low point of the decade IMO. I'm not a steelers fan but follow the NFL very closely, and I seriously haven't seen them play this terribly. Even in all their terrible losses this year, they've put some points up, and have competed till the last play. This game, they were dominated from 1st to last play. By an extremely mediocre team. I can't recall a worse game from the powerhouse org that is the steelers in my lifetime, seriously. Their OC needs to be fired tonite, just terrible play calling. And their execution, on both D and O has never been this bad. WOW...then you haven't watched many steeler games...disclaimer:I'm a diehard steeler fan since the early 70'sp00h said:ugh, hope you guys sat your steelers. Fraternal twinsIs MOP related to LHUCKS?
Um...ever try to run into the wind? And no seperation by the WRs either...where did the wind play a factor?
Did the wind change so that Pitt was going into it each time they took the field? I posted about the FG and the response was the wind was at their back...its OK...more crow please, thanks.Um...ever try to run into the wind? And no seperation by the WRs either...where did the wind play a factor?

When you are afraid the ball will sail on you; you hold it longer as you need higher % target. When you hold it longer, you get sacked.Greetings everyone,I was watching the game downstairs, wanted to take it all in before I posted. did u play him over AP?EdwardCat said:I'm amazed he got 53 yards behind that line tonight. That said, you can't count on him going forward. Any back who can't produce against one of the worst run defenses in the league is simply a non-factor.Mendy with a pisspoor showing....jesh!
Actually, I think both of you might have forgotten the Quinn throw to Massaquoi in the first quarter, where the ball sailed well out of bounds at about the PITT 5 yard line (it was about a 30 yard throw). The ball definitely sailed in the wind.Any throw that was in the air more than 1-2 seconds lost its "oomph" and had difficulty getting to the correct spot. Quinn had a couple like that. However, I agree that the gameplan was more influenced than any throw. Very few routes were of the deep variety, and when Pittsburgh did throw >20 yards downfield Big Ben put a lot of mustard on it.The weather changed the game plan. Do you recall any ANY(!) throws downfield? Rob Ryan used the wind to his advantage & gameplanned short ball.Greetings everyone,I was watching the game downstairs, wanted to take it all in before I posted. MOP, I love that you had the balls to come on here and post your thoughts, right or wrong, at least you had an opinion, but I think that Miami heat has thinned your blood a bit too much. The Steelers fantasy performance was poor tonight for several reasons, but the fact that it was #######G freezing certainly contributed to the poor passing game. I don't have the stats, but I would guess that more times than not, when the wind chill is close to zero the performace of both team's passing games takes a pretty severe hit.Did the wind change so that Pitt was going into it each time they took the field? The marlins...What name do you give to a guy that "eats crows" while simultaneously making excuses?
A. Classy
B. Stud
C. Winner
D. Loser
From the first post.Ministry of Pain said:I expect a score of about 21-17 at this point, maybe not fireworks but does anyone really see a 7-0 score tonight? If you have Ben and your choices are him or something like Matt Hasselbeck...I'm not sure I would want to plug in Matt even with the weather. Plus a short week, maybe the defenses are not well prepared, both teams have big injuries at key positions on their defense. I think some folks are going to be upset if they sit everyone. Why can't Holmes have a nice night tonight with Ward banged up and possible limited?
+1 - maybe not "happy", but certainly fine with it.I was happy with what Heath Miller gave my squad.![]()
The on field reporter even said that the wind was effecting one end of the field much more than the other. Also, I dont recall seeing too many passes throw over 15+ yards myself....so ya, I think the wind was a factor.Did the wind prevent them from blocking? This. It's hard to know which throws were the wind, especially when you're talking Brady Quinn, but I also saw several intermediate passes from Quinn and Ben that looked awkward. No matter what, the conditions were influencing the play-calling on offense + the Browns definitely took advantage of the conditions to go man coverage and get after Ben.Actually, I think both of you might have forgotten the Quinn throw to Massaquoi in the first quarter, where the ball sailed well out of bounds at about the PITT 5 yard line (it was about a 30 yard throw). We really laughing at MOP in here? He gave an observation, he was dead wrong, and he ate his crow. Lets move on. I dont see many people stating he was wrong before the game started. Geez.

I bench Heath last minute for Finley. Thought it was genius at halftime...now not so sure.+1 - maybe not "happy", but certainly fine with it.I was happy with what Heath Miller gave my squad.![]()
Huh? His fashion choices? That's what you care about?Maybe Tomlin needs to quit worrying about his fashion statement and get better at coaching. Seriously, it was super cold and he's prancing around with his coat unzipped like a 14 year old. What a dork.
Fixed.Millen also advocating that Mangini should get more time. Comical. GeniusMillen saying the field is in good shape and that is why Hines Ward wants to play even with the gimpy hammy.

MoP, I love to read yer stuff, but you didnt even come CLOSE to eating any crow. I thought you would man up, but you still insist it wasnt the weather. Just admit you were flat out wrong and save some credibilty, but it's likely too late for that now. Very weak showing here. You were wrong, but you still haven't admitted to that fact.![]()
I listened to ESPN all day and announcer after announcer echo'd what I said last night. The weather was not the biggest reason why Pitt lost last night. One of them said if you put the Bills jerseys on them it would have seemed right. I did come in and said pass the crow. I hope owners were able to make the right calls but Ben getting sacked 8 times...Herm Edwards was quoted by Scott Van Pelt that he was running wild in the studio when Pitt threw the ball on 3rd and 1...if the conditions were as bad as the "Ice Bowl" I don't think they would have tried to get cute and throw on 3rd down. Pitt attempted 40 passes last night...32+8 sacks...it was not the weather why they lost but I tried to be polite and said pass the crow. What I failed in more was the fact that Pitt is the suxor right now...they have lost to KC, Oak, and now Cleveland...if you guys say it was the weather, have at it.MoP, I love to read yer stuff, but you didnt even come CLOSE to eating any crow.
