Do you get sedated at the Dentist? Maybe some @Dentist help please (2 Viewers)

top right is an actual dentist?
I think so, really similar hair.   I have seen 4 dentists there and only the main and (possibly top right) are in the pic.   The other two are not, one was a 30 age guy and other a 30 aged bigger black hair female.

But it seems odd she would be stuck back there.

Said no one ever about a boat...If you didn't have the boat you could retire 3 months earlier...

well there is no question that is true.   Actually closer to 5 months because if i didn't take the vacation time to the boat I could make even more

I've had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, one with surgery because it was impacted plus an additional molar. Never felt very sore for long after any of them.

Does the dentist use a light above the chair or do they just use the gleam off Amanda's fivehead?
LOL....  have never had her...  They do have a TV w/headphones and I can tune into any direct tv  program or music hanging from the ceiling in each chair.

Took a trip to the dentist not long ago and asked for gas sedation.  I understand the effects.  I was disappointed in my last trip because not only was the nosepiece annoying, but I didn't feel a damned thing.  I feel like if the dentist is offering, and I'm paying, I should be able to get my buzz on while they do terrible things to my teeth.  Does anyone get a benzo prescription from their dentist or primary physician?  Sometimes I feel like to get some dental work done they need to treat me like I'm a wild animal because I'm about ready to jump out of the chair and start throwing elbows, which likely would be frowned upon.   @Dentist what are the settings you people set the tanks to?  Would it be weird if I next time asked them to turn the volume up?  Or ask for a benzo prescription?
The  last time I got sedated at the dentist office...

...I ended up being worked on by some clown with a bulbous nose...shoes and hands too big...

...garbled speech that made no sense, as it kept lowering and rising...

///fingers that flicked and bent in rhythm to the breathing walls///

...little elves handled the tools///as they machined the clocks to stay still///

///and the trees screaMED IN from the windows to flee....

...recommended.

@Dentist Why does the hygienist stab my gums with a sharp pick for 20 minutes then you come in and tell me they're bleeding because I don't floss?

I think that's a way of them measuring your gum tissue health.  I like it.  If feels like they are scratching gums that I never knew itched, until then.

Because in theory if you had ideal gum health, at a 6 month interval when they did the stabbing the gums wouldn't bleed much or sometimes at all.

The tough part about talking about and treating gum disease is that there is rarely pain or sensitivity associated with it

My dentist usually schedules a 6 month follow up, but he told me I could take a year. He vaguely implied that I didn't ever have to come back, I'd be dead before my teeth went bad.

Is this for a cleaning? People ask for nitrous for cleanings?
My wife does.  She hates the dentist and is scared to death of going.  She went for a cleaning two years ago for the first time in 17 years!
She took a Valium before going, asked for nitrous and I had to sit with her to keep her calm while they did the cleaning.

No issues.  No cavity, no decay and no lecture about flossing.  The dentist was amazed.
