I'm more of a Devin The Dude guy
Never heard of him until now but I'm guessing location and age has something to do with that.
It has everything to do with it...I grew up in the late 80s/early 90s when hip hop reigned supreme so I don't listen a lot of the new stuff and have a slight east coast bias. Devin has been doing his thing since the early 90s on Rap-a-lot with Scarface and continues to put out quality. Probably one of the biggest MCs to make it from Houston and has a catalog chock full of goodness. If you're a fan of hip hop and don't know Devin, you're definitely sleeping: Go take a nap and get back to me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devin_the_Dude

I'm a wall street guy in the oil/gas business and have a neck tattoo and a sleeve....nothing that makeup can't cover for pitches.
Doesn't your neck makeup stain your wig?
 skin color/beige bandage tape stuff works for neck as it barely sticks out of collar. Point is that you can have ink and make in the corporate world you just have to play your hand accordingly and not show said ink when there's slow minded :nerd: that will judge you b/c of a personal :style: choice.
Am I slow minded because I judge you as somebody that is impractical? Getting something that you have to wear makeup or a bandage on just seems silly to me.

it's a black thing, you wouldn't understand

I enjoyed seeing Vino Elan get kicked off X-Factor this week. When you start tattooing your head and face like that, people are going to assume bad judgment at the low end, and that you are an axe murderer at the high end. Zero upside to something like this. Hopefully some of America's youth learned a lesson here.

I am a huge fan of tats in general. But let's face it: when you get a head or neck tat, you're proclaiming to the world that you don't care about making more than minimum wage.

Exactly this.

Tattoos are for posers and look at me types
do you dress with a certain style ? do you style your hair a certain way? Do you drive a certain type of car or truck ?do you have a house or apt with things that convey your taste or who you are as a person? In essence we are all posers at one time or another...tattoos are just a way of conveying your personality...what you love or believe in...what you think is interesting visually...so ya ,you`re right

I got busted at WSOP event by a guy with a huge neck tat, it said "One Life". Actually thought it was pretty cool and the guy was a nice guy.

so in the corporate world.....people who may make judgements based on others personal style/choice are slow minded nerds?.....

I personally don't care. But there are many people that I have to interact with that would look upon your neck tattoo as poor business decision. If you made that kind of poor decision for yourself then why would you make a good one for anything else, would be their point of contention.

I just kind of had a problem with him basically judging people because they are judging people for style/choice....kind of hypocritical IMO.....just because someone may make judgements on someone else because of their personal style/choice, does not make that person a slow minded nerd.....sometimes those judgements/decisions have to be made even if you are the most open minded person in the world....

That's the point son...those folks won't see it

So you're judging him for judging others for judging him. That's deplorable.

I've worked on Wall Street for >20 years and I can't remember ever seeing any employees with neck tats. I've interviewed hundreds of people and never recommended anyone who had visible tats for the next round. Of course, there were very few interviewees who chose to interview with visible tats. Getting a neck tat is a lifestyle choice that indicates bad judgement IMO.

I used to play basketball with a co-worker who was also an olympic silver medalist who had an olympic symbol tattooed on his shoulder blade. That's where you get a tattoo if you want a grown up job.

nope....not judging him....said I was the one with the problem....felt his statement was hypocritical....not judging him as a person.....

i have a buddy who gets all of my tattoos for me. So far I have a tattoo of a severed rat's head lying in a pool of blood and one of a bald guy throwing up in a toilet.

Funny that this thread got bumped. A couple of weeks ago my sister in law told me a tale of a neck tattoo.

She's an elementary school teacher in a school whose area includes some at-risk youth. One of them was acting out vociferously in class so she called the boy's mother in for a chat. Mom rolls in.... with a life size photo-realistic boner tattooed across her neck. But that's not all. Being expelled from said boner is a prodigious, Peter North sized load spelling the kid's name out in splooge.

Right hand to God, this is not an urban legend, she saw it with her own eyes not more than 3-4 weeks ago.

That's actually kinda beautiful. See, the spooge created the boy. That was the seed that started it all. It's fitting that it spelled out his name. Absolutely beautiful.

I want to see it so badly.

Seriously though, I want to know how hard the tattoo artist tried to talk her out of that. Also, at what point she said "to hell with it, I don't ever want a job anyway."

If I stick out my chin and flex my neck muscles I can make it look sort of like a hard penis.

I also kinda look like your avatar

I had a federal investigator come to my office today to interview me for a neighbor that wants a security clearance.

She had a script neck tattoo of someone's name and some sort off finger tattoo as well. I'm not gonna lie... I took her less seriously because of those things. They just don't signal "authority", but rather "poor judgement".
