Do you listen to Sirius NFL radio? (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any inside info regarding why Schein/Wilcots and T-Rock/Kirwin switched time slots?
They added an hour to the shows and deleted one show.
I get that (The Red Zone was useless anyway)... but why did they switch time slots?
Well I guess it is true The SIRIUS Blitz - New time!

Weekdays 11 am - 3 pm ET

Adam Schein & Solomon Wilcots take your calls and invite you to get involved in the conversation. NFL Hall of Famer John Madden delivers pre- and post-game analysis of the weekend action on Mondays & Fridays. Email your thoughts to afternoonblitz@sirius-radio.com.

I haven't even caught the switch because Howard has been too good with Eric the Midget press conferences, I have been listening to Howard nonstop

Adam Schein got a tv gig in NYC that conflicted with the Afternoon Blitz time slot. In order to keep Adam on board Sirius moved him to mid days and renamed the show "The Blitz". Their show will continue to be a 4 hour show 11am to 3pm with Moving the Chains following 3pm to 7pm.

That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks. :lmao: It's really nice to hear Tim and Pat in the afternoons, when I'm in my car most of the time.

I would have to say "Moving the Chains" with PK and Tim Ryan is the best. They offer expert analysis along with some great humor. There are very few analysts that have a talent for explaining complex football concepts to the casual fan. Excellent show and I highly recommend listening. :kicksrock:
PK is great to listen to. he knows so much about the NFL

I am pretty sure thats the role T-Rock plays :lmao: I love their show by far the best. This is by far the best time of the year to listen to Kirwan. The guy has insights into the business aspect of the game that you really can not hear anywhere else. I honestly have no idea how a true fan of the NFL can not have Sirius.

:lmao: Was never a Blitz (re:Shien) fan. And hated the fact that Rock and PK were on during the day. I bought a dozen books on CD to listen to because I was hating the prospect of putting up with him and "Solly" for an entire offseason. I'll have to put them away for a while now that these guys are on during drive time. Both these guys (Rock and PK) have color jobs during the season right? Wonder what they'll do then?

Ryan works on the #3 or #4 FOX broadcasting team. Kirwin works in the CBS studio, and writes for NFL.com.Their radio schedule is usually unaffected during the season, except if Ryan has travel issues.

Yeah, and it's not just football knowledge, like how players are scouted, or plays are called. He's great with football history/stories.Yesterday he talked about how Ron Wolf scooped up Favre...great stuff there. This isn't from Kirwan, but it's the same story he told. And he had the added insight of working with/for (?) Ron Wolf on the Jets, remembering how Wolf came back to NY to get some paperwork, and thinking about that when he found out Ron traded for Favre, as he (Favre) was discussed amongst the Jets front office staff prior to that.
That famous story Bob Harlan has told for years — the one about Ron Wolf, in his first action as the Green Bay Packers’ general manager in 1991, cementing his decision to trade for Brett Favre after seeing him throw in a pregame warmup — never happened.Wolf revealed today, shortly after Favre announced his retirement after 17 NFL seasons and 16 as the Packers’ starting quarterback, that he never saw Favre throw a pass on that day.The story, as Harlan retold today, goes like this: Harlan hired Wolf on Nov. 27, 1991. Four days later, the Packers played the Atlanta Falcons, where Favre was in his first season as a backup.“I’m up in the press box and probably an hour before the game, Ron comes in and says, ‘I’m going down on the field to watch Atlanta’s backup quarterback, and if his arm is still as strong now as it was when he was coming out of college, we’re going to make a trade for him,’” Harlan said.“So, Ron walks away, and I take the flip card and turn it over, and I assumed the kid’s name was FAV-ray. So, I started watching him from the press box as he warmed up. Ron comes up about 40 minutes later and sat down next to me and says, ‘We’re going to make a trade for Favre. Are you OK with that?’“‘I said when I hired you, “Ron, you’ve got full and complete authority to run this football operation, and I’m not about to interfere with your very first decision.”Harlan, recently retired team president, has been conveying that story for years, but only today did it became known that Wolf never got the chance to double-check Favre’s arm strength.“I was told by a member of the Atlanta staff (before the game) that if I wanted to see Brett Favre throw, I was going to have to look at him now because they wouldn’t let him throw during the team (warmup) period,” Wolf said. “So, I started to head down to the field to do that, but I never got down there. But what I did learn from that situation was we could acquire Brett Favre.“I didn’t have to see him throw. I watched that guy play every game his junior and senior year in college. I didn’t have to watch him throw that day.”

Listening to Kirwan is like taking a course on the NFL.

Very happy with this switch. Schein's schtick was starting to wear thin on me. Also, has anyone else noticed that Schein seems to be much angrier lately with the callers? Granted, most of the callers are meatheads, but Schein has little patience nowadays. Maybe it's the marriage blues. Tim and Pat are so knowledgeable and have great chemistry. They're funny too, but not in a forced Shein kind of way. I wish Tim and Pat could talk football for 4 hours and not take any calls but of course they can't do that. I will admit though that come the fall I'll miss Schein and Miller's 6:00 picks for my ride home.

Speaking of which, does that redneck Bam Bam have to call every day?Seriously. He literally calls every friggin day. There is NO REASON to call every day. He seems like a nice enough guy, but sheesh. Give it a rest. Nothing gets me to change the channel faster than hearing "Okay... let's go out to Bam." :goodposting:

I like the Barber Shop.....and listening to the Dallas feed from the game last night was quite good as well.
Wow! Of all the shows this one gets the "GAS FACE"!.......These two cats too often come across as little grade school girls spreading gossip, IMO.......Where I come from, we call these kinda dudes L-7.........i.e., "squares" , if you didn't get that

The must have no life. From everything I've heard, the wait time to get on the air on the prime shows is over an hour. Who the heck has the time to spend an hour on hold everyday to espouse the same, barely understandable shpeel for about 3 minutes of air time. He must have one of those radios that lets you record and save the stream, and he had a couple of hours of his greatest hits he plays for anyone who'll listen.

He's a truck driver. Most of your daily callers are, and that's also why you get so many trucking ads.

I'm on the road all day, too. But I only call once every two or three months. The point isn't what he does for a living... the point is there's positively no reason we need to hear him every day. With so many first-timers waiting to get on the air, I'm stunned they let him through all the time. He just likes to hear himself on the radio, obviously. The other day, he starts his call by saying "I sent a text to my son a few minutes ago, letting him know I was about to be on -- so I just wanna say hi to him."

I like moving the chains too.

I like Miller and Solomon on the drive home.

I will say I'm glad the cumbine is over and I don't have to hear Solly talk about the cumbine again. :lmao:

Ya, that's a good point, they often drift off into personal conversations about their families, it does get annoying.

Did you guys hear the horrible news today?

Marble-mouth Riggins is coming back to co-host The Blitz with Adam Schein. :lmao:

Wilcots is moving on to host The Red Zone from 1-3. :lmao:

I could do a Sirius NFL Radio show.

All the hosts do is sit on the air for 3-4 hour shifts and take calls from fans. Sure, they are knowlegable with their answers, but they don't provide you with anything they haven't learned themselves from the Internet, and most of the questions are just redicules softballs.

Let's be honest, this is how 90% of Sirius Radio goes:

"Jay in (INSERT CITY) your on Sirius NFL Radio, what's your question?"

"Hey guys, I just want to tell you, you guys are so awesome. I've been listening to Sirius for two-years now and I really think you guys do a great job. I couldn't get through my day without you. You guys are awesome."

"Thanks Jay, we appreaciate that. We get so many calls from so many great fans since starting this, and it really is rewarding to sit on here everyday and answer questions from fans just like you, and we are amazed daily about how knowledgable you guys are. Right (INSERT CO-HOST NAME)?"

"Absolutely, our listeners are really knowledgable and its our honor to do this daily. What's on your mind Jay?"

"Man, I'm in (INSERT CITY), but I'm originally from (INSERT ANOTHER CITY), and I'm just so pissed that my (INSERT TEAM) is so bad this year, as they are every single year. Upper management just doesn't have a clue and I don't know what the coaching staff is thinking. If they would just (INSERT STRATEGY) more, I think they would have so much better success. Please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel."

"Jay, I think you just need to give (INSERT COACH) some time there to get that system going. He just doesn't have the pieces in place to do what he wants to do. And look, it's only been three weeks since the season started, so hang in there and give your guys some time. I know they're not off to the best start, but I still think there is a chance the season is not lost."

"Yea, I know. Any chance they can go undefeated the rest of the season?"

"Woah, wait a minute Jay. Let's not get carried away. Give your team time. I would be happy with (INSERT NUMBER OF WINS). So hang in there and let's see where you are in a couple more weeks."

"Todd in (INSERT CITY) your on Sirius NFL Radio, what's your question?"

Heh, sometimes it seems like that daivos, but, IMO, that's more a product of the callers than the hosts. When they just sit and jam, that's when you should take notice, cause you're gonna learn something.

I love Kirwan, and I'm OK with Tim Ryan, I just wish he's drop the "street talk". Seriously, you should stop calling people "dog". The ship sailed on that one a long time ago. He's not quite as over the top as Schein, but a helluva lot smarter football-wise.

Now, if you could get Solly and Kirwan together on a show? That would be the ultimate.

 I never knew what I didn't know about pro football until I started listening to Tim and Pat. It's like going to football grad school

Ryand and Kirwan is the best matchup on the radio, though I do enjoy Popa and Cross in the morning.

Whatever the complete opposite of this would be --------> ... that's what your post is.If you honestly feel this way, you've never heard Tim & Pat's show.

The only one that really gets under my skin is Randy Cross.

He just comes off arrogant to me. Not saying he doesn't know his stuff he just rubs me the wrong way.

OH and TODAY IS FOOTBALLLLLLLL FRIDAY.

I do like Shein, Miller, Solly even Sharpe when he's on with Papa. Most fo the shows are pretty solid. I actually like how they swap guys around.

That's because he is arrogant. That said, Sirius NFL Radio is the best radio on radio. The Lions should be on the phone to get Pat in there to help them out.

Did they finally drop Jerry Rice? I haven't heard him at night anymore. Now if they'd just drop Gil Brandt...

Pat knows better than to associate himself with a career boat anchor like the Lions.

Aww, I like Gil. He can be a little challenging to listen to, but he knows his stuff and has great stories from the old days.

I like it all but hate the one host with the cartoonish voice that always says the tag line like "Sirius NFL radeeeeeeeeooooo..." Makes me want to drive in to on coming traffic...
