For the purposes of this poal, "near" means that you live closer to that city than any other NFL market.

Example, if you live in northen Oregon and cheer for the Seahawks, count that as "near". If you live in central California and cheer for the Seahawks, it obviously does not count as "near", as there are Cali teams that are closer to you than Seattle.

I couldn't get much farther away if I tried. I live in Rhode Island, and my favorite team is.... well, you know.

I have made the trek to the Black Hole about six times, however.

I used to live in the city as my favorite team, but they were my favorite team before I lived there.

Do the Houston Texans count as an NFL team? This could affect my response as a Cowboys fan living in Austin.

I live in Rochester and I go to 4 Bills games a year. It is very nice when the Packers visit because my fiancee is a Favre fan and it is usually a very quiet ride home for her. She was actually on Inside The NFL last year in all of her Cheeseiness. Of course, the Bills won and I could crank Megadeth without interruption on the way home. LOL :bag:

Born in Chicago, but moved out to Southern California when I was young. Still stayed a Bears fan - none of the local teams had Walter Payton.

Moved out here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. Despite the Bidwells' best efforts, I remain faithful to the Steelers.

Growing up, every summer my family and I would vacation in Colorado.

While there, my Uncle would take me to watch the Broncos practice every year.

Been a die hard Bronco fan without living anywhere near Denver ever since.

For professional football, yes, but I'm a long way away from my non-alma mater, Duke. :(
DUKE??? Why do you have a Huskies avatar? (besides living in Seattle)
I went to the UW. How can you not root for Dook though?
It is for me not to root for the Dook. It is like the Yankees, the Canadiens, or the Celtics. Too many bandwagon fans. It is sad that you don't support the team that brought us Warren Moon, Hugh McElhenny, Corey Dillon, Don Coryell, Mark Brunell, as well as many others. UW has a long history of outstanding achievers. Not just the NFL.

As a Chargers fan, I have only lived "near" the Bolts for a year and a half starting in 1992 while I was stationed in San Diego on the USS Long Beach (CGN-9), serving in the Navy.

Otherwise, I've lived no where near San Diego.

Sincerely. thanx for your service. There is room on the bills bandwagon for you anytime you start to see the light. LOL

Been a Niners fan for two decades, but I guess the Chargers and Raiders (& previously the Rams) are a little closer to Australia, so I voted no...

Grew up about halfway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Lived there until I got my first job, lived outside of Pittsburgh for 20 years and now I'm back.

<----------------------------------------------- about 90 minutes from Heinz Field.

favorite team: Bolts

Born in SD

Lived most of my life in the D.

Been to the Murph once.

Usually road trip to Cincy/Cleve/Indy when the Bolts play there

I had to look at your member info to figure this one out. Some how, Detroit would have been about my third choice for "The D" after Denver and Dallas.

No NFL teams in Nebraska, the Chiefs and the Broncos are the nearest NFL clubs (well, the Bears are about as close as the Broncos as well).

However, being from St Louis, I adopted the Rams when they moved to town. Used to love the Cardinals before Bill Bidwell.

Grew up in Maine so I've always been a Pats fan, but I live in Denver right now so I'm pretty freaking far away.

Sad when I've been to more Broncs games than Pats in my life, and I hate the Broncs. :hophead:

I hear ya ... eastern Ontario to Oakland! I feel like I'm on the other side of the world.
Rams fan, born and raised in Ottawa
Wow ... there's two of us!

Live in Houston and the Texans are my favorite team.

Before moving to Texas though I lived in Michigan and the Seahawks were my favorite team.

I grew up in Tampa Bay, but we ignored them and rooted for the Dolphins.

Recently I lived in Tampa again for a year, it is amazing how many "Lifetime Bucs fans" there are there. I know they weren't there in the early '80's

:goodposting: Born in Chicago and raised a Bears fan, but moved to NY and began to follow the Jets.I still root for both teams, although I get a ton of questions about my loyalties. Since both teams play in different conferences, it's a bit easier. Now I live in Miami, surrounded by Dolphins fans.

I'm not sure I fit your description of near.

I live in southern CT, which is closer to the Jets and Giants, but I live in New England. Do I qualify?

I grew up in Philly raised an Eagles fan (which is how I voted), but also started following the Jets to have a local team -- diff. conferences works for me, too. :) And on the rare occassion they play each other, I go Eagles. Most of my local friends are Giants fans. ANd, actually, I thought Miami had more Giants and Jets fans than Dolphins fans. ;)

ARe you below New Haven? That seems to be the cut off between Giants/Jets vs Pats.
Yes, below New Haven. Jets / Giants territory, but I'm in New England, so that's my team. So as the poll asks, near? No, but in, yes.
Fairfield County is really not New England :D :Stamfordgirl:btw, I have a friend in Wilton who is a diehard Jets fan, but his son insists on rooting for the Pats because he lives in New England.

As he should. And Stamford is as much New England as Boston is. Maybe it's time you start following your home team.

The Eagles will always be my home team -- can't take the Philly out of the Philadelphian!!!!!!!<------Eagles is one of my bird's favorite words (even though he was born in CT). We have a lot of fun with that when I take him out amongst the Giants fans. :D He know the Jets cheer as well.

Ok, I'll let you slide on Philly, but the Jets? C'mon! Do you actually like Jets fans as well?

Well, except for the one Jets fan I mentioned, my friends are Giants fans. And Eagles fans (who go to the games, anway) don't exactly have a sterling reputation.....
