I like the MFL app I found for the iPhone. You can really go through your leagues for scoring updates quickly and submit lineups if a player is out. I don't get on any of my sites really until the Monday night games are over, just breeze through the app for the scoring updates.

I don't set my lineups via phone use it for live scoring mostly if I'm out.

ETA: I usually set my lineups Tuesday to fix bye issues. But if a late week injury happens, there is a small chance I don't get to fixing it

I like the MFL app I found for the iPhone. You can really go through your leagues for scoring updates quickly and submit lineups if a player is out. I don't get on any of my sites really until the Monday night games are over, just breeze through the app for the scoring updates.

My answer would be yes, as it doesn't take but a second. However, there have been times where I got caught up in family things and forgot to make roster moves I had planned on, and then got beat to the punch. So I could definitely see it happening.

Your only responsibility to the league is to set a lineup. You are not required to play the waiver wire. You do not have to trade. You do have to set a lineup in a money league.The only advice I would give someone that does not have the ability to spend 2 minutes a week setting a lineup? Don't play the game. You do not need this advice because it seems you have already realized that you cannot commit these 2 minutes to your league. Read up on what people think of guys that do not have the ability to set a lineup. For the most part they get kicked out of leagues.

I would feel sorry and remorseful. No excuse to take 5 minutes from the rest of your week to set a lineup. I'd say tough luck and tell him to set his lineup in advance. You let this slide then what's next? Someone else will have an emergency. That don't fly in money leagues...

I used the Yahoo! Fantasy Football app, it's lacking alot of features and is missing alot of stuff that you can find on the Yahoo site. But it covers the bases, you can add, drop and manage your players. But you cannot see any trades do counter offers or anything. That's my one big knock on it. You can't see any info about transactions going on in the league like if players get added/dropped or trades going on in the league.

I like the HTC phones, never had a problem, and I am brutal to phones (physical damage, constant use [right now], lots of apps.). If you want something other than an iPhone. I've sworn off Motorola, every phone I ever had from them had issues.I agree with the sentiments here, there is a lack of good fantasy apps, the mobile version of the websites is preferred.

As to the OP. I had a friend in a league go to jail for a couple weeks once. No one touched his roster, and he started competing when he got out. He still made the playoffs that year too. If someone has a reason they didn't set their line up, whatever dude. Just focus on your team. If your kid asks to be excused from the supper table, to use the bathroom, do you go check for poop and pee?

Some hard fishing with the name calling and I appreciate your voice of reason. I realize now, after re-reading the thread, that I opened myself up to this. There will be a certain percentage of the population that is making assumptions from my open-ended questions to start some dialogue on the matter. Of course, if you are in a family and friends league and there is a health issue that everyone knows about, you make exceptions.I am simply raising the point about internet connectivity and fantasy football. The poll shows 90% of the guys on this forum are connected 24/7 with their 3G+ phones right next to them. You will be hard pressed to find money leagues consisting of FBG's that accept cheesy excuses from 2-8 teams on why they did not get 2 minutes during the week to set a lineup.In this day of internet connection and fantasy football, you see players dropped during first come, first served waiver periods and then picked up by another league owner within minutes. Do you think that guy is sitting at his computer all day waiting for that waiver pickup? Good fantasy football players have set up their smartphones for instant notifications of drops. I am pointing out a trend that is sure to continue into even greater connectivity at faster speeds.

In this case, as commissioner, I would take out the bye players and submit his best possible lineup (from the points entering that week), even after the fact.I will not have any tanking, either intentional or accidental.

I had to do this for someone last week for the first time in 5 years as commish...he had 1 bye week player and FIVE players listed as out days prior to the games starting.

i understand your point but it does only take 3 minutes to set your lineup and everyone has a phone. to think that one can not set the lineup when prizes are up for grabs is just beyond me. no matter what the reason. thats why you also dont wait to the very last second to set your lineup, there are seven days in a week. and the name calling seems to be a habit on this board, so nothing new there.no excuses ever for not setting your lineup, ever.

It's a matter of taste. I like the MFL app as well, but mostly because it is chincy. I can do everything I need to do with it, like setting line-ups, add/drops and checking scores. It's not a place for player news and the format is pretty simplistic, but I'll take the simplicity that works without awful loading times, signficantly delayed scoring updates, and general bugginess that I get from the awful Yahoo app. In fact, I'm thinking about ditching all my yahoo leagues because their mobile app is so terrible. I'd like to see some sort of gameday update on MFL (like which of my starters are inactive), but I'll still take the simple, effective app over the complex, ineffective app any day.
