Does Reggie Wayne Play? (1 Viewer)

He will play. He will take all the time he needs. Only the national media says he may not play. Local it hasnt even been mentioned..

I see him playing because that`s what his brother would want him to do(cliched i know,but...)and i see him dedicating the game to his brother and playing the game of his life.

It's nice to see how sympathetic some people are.

Tell me if you lost your brother, would you be running back to work as soon as possible.

Not everyone can handle things like Favre did a few years back.

And looking at it from the point that Dungy lost his son just last year, i'm not so sure he plays Wayne much even if he says he wants to. It's an emotional thing that sadly no one his age should have to deal with.

Do everyone a favor and pick a guy up off Waivers and let the player get some closure on this tragedy!!!!!

Can you give the guy a little time to grieve? I think he has more on his mind than satisfying your lineup.
:goodposting:
I don`t think reggie wayne is trolling the footballguys forums this week so i can`t understand how we can give the guy a break  ....i have and i`m sure many if not all of you have lost someone close to us,but with that said why would we have to stop discussing players in the nfl as they pertain to fantasyfootball???? We all know how wayne feels right now but he`s not here to say how hurt he is by us talking about if he`s playing this week...

It would have been a full week. Most people who work only get 3 days off with pay for family funerals.

Days off with pay would be your biggest concern if you lost a brother?Seems to me like you are one cold heartless guy, or just have no brothers.Take the days off with pay and enjoy it , thats shameless.

To answer the question and get back on track, yes, I believe he will play. I think he will have had time to grieve. He is a pro and knows how important he is to the team. I agree with the earlier poster about him having a huge game.

Colts pass all over the terrible Jets, Reggie goes for 8/135/2 and gets the game ball from Dungy.

At least that is my sappy wish for my guy Reggie!

I'm not sure if he will play, but if he does, I predict a career day to honor his brother. Sort of like the game Brett Farve had on Monday night after his father passed away.

It's Tuesday? Who the hell knows?

I guess if you're in a league that has to set lineups and/or make all your roster moves by Tuesday (quit that league after this year, BTW) my guess, based purely on history of how most players choose to deal with these things, is that he will play. Everyone is different on how they handle these things, so that's just my guess.

I agree with everyone else. Wayne will have an absolutely monster week to honor his fallen family member, ala Tiger Woods.

 It's not like he called the guy at home and asked him. It's a legit question and many people will be wondering the exact same thing in the next day or two.

Life is for the living.

For Reggie to sit at home watching his team play does him no good at all. Pay your respects..take a few days. Keeping busy is the best thing in the world for him to do.

Either way the game ball will be dedicated in memory of his brother. But, you have to imagine that the single best game of his life... or a game where he does quite well would make that ball even more special. These guys are always playing for pride.... and usually feel like they represent themselves and their entire family.

MG

We should know well in advance of gametime what Reggie is going to do, so we just have to be patient. If he doesn't play I can only field two WRs in a start 3 league, but I don't think Reggie cares about that.

Darren Clarke was golfing in the Ryder Cup and boozing it up after his wife just died.

Everybody deals with it their own way.

News: WR Reggie Wayne's availability for this week's road game with the New York Jets is up in the air. Wayne's older brother, Rashad, was killed in a traffic accident Sunday near Kenner, Louisiana. Rashad Wayne, 32, was declared dead at the scene when the delivery truck that he was driving crashed into a highway guardrail. Colts coach Tony Dungy said that there is no set time for Reggie Wayne to return to the team. Reggie Wayne was informed of his brother's accident after the Jacksonville game and left immediately to fly home to be with his family.

Analysis: Monitor this situation as the game draws closer. Wayne would obviously be a valuable starting option in Fantasy leagues that use two or more wide receivers.

Maybe people should start posting "MTAPGOTHF" (for My Thoughts And Prayers Go Out To His Family) before a post so the sensitivity police won't attack people for talking about fantasy football on a fantasy football forum.

Nobody was saying "he better play" or "Great news. Harrison owner here" or anything stupid like that. It's a legitimate question: Will he play or not?

If not, nobody would blame him for that. Not Dungy, not fantasy owners who have him, not Colts fans. Nobody. It's a terrible thing and I truly feel badly for anyone who loses a close family member. And I'm sure the person who started this thread feels the same way.

That being said, Wayne owners might have to make some waiver wire moves, and I'm pretty sure a commissioner won't keep it frozen until we deem it acceptable to start looking for a replacement. So now is a good time to think about whether or not a replacement has to be found.

MTAPGOTHF. Really. So don't attack me, please.

Just seen on local news,Reggie will be at practice on Thursday, and WILL play Sunday.....just thought I would pass it along,I didn't see it anywhere else

Reggie Wayne, WR IND

News: Colts receiver Reggie Wayne is expected to return to Indianapolis on Thursday and could be available to play Sunday against the New York Jets. Wayne left town Sunday night after finding out his older brother, Rashad, was killed in a traffic accident that day in Kenner, La. Wayne has been in Louisiana all week to help the family make funeral arrangements. "The last conversation I had with him, he said he'd be back in Indianapolis sometime (Thursday)," coach Tony Dungy said Wednesday. "Right now, I think he will play."

Analysis: There is no doubt Wayne will be motivated to play next time he takes the field, which could be Sunday. If that is the case, make sure he is active because he could turn in one heck of a game. Monitor his status leading up to kickoff

So, merely asking the question here as to if he will play or not is inappropriate in your estimation? :loco: This isn't some reporter harassing the guy to get to the answer. This is someone with no relation/connection to him asking other people who are similarly unrelated if they have information on his playing status. The hyper-sensitivity quotient on this board is reaching absurd levels.

Where do these guys come from?
Hell.
not a comment, just dig the Jerry avatar. miss that guy.
 Me too.

Unfortunately he is serious.

This is a fantasy football site you idiot. Not a "oh how bad for him" site.
You guys are just jackasses. Seriously.
:goodposting:
Why are they jackasses?????This message analyzes the most insignificant minute details 800 diffrent ways... It may be insenstive but football is a pretty insensitive game. There were 1500 posts on T.O. killing himself yesterday, but asking about reggie Wayne makes you a jackass?I read these posts for comic relief at this point, seriously. I never seen a fantasy sport more over analzyed than this one.

this is one of the funnier topics I have read on here.

Suit up and play reggie, the colts and my fantasy team need you.

I wouldnt be suprised if Reggie feels a bit guilty over his brothers death. Reggie could have easily afforded to pay his bro 50K a year so he didnt have to risk his life driving a delivery truck.

Since when does driving a delivery truck count as a life threatening job?Maybe his brother wanted to work.Maybe his brother was a proud man that didn't want hand outs

In honor of Reggie Wayne's personal tragedy I will insert him into my lineup this weekend in the name of TEAM. I will not make him feel worse than he already does by making him ride the pine.

You talk about some sensitivity issues in here.

Let's be clear. Some people pay a lot of $$$ to be in certain leagues...some are upwards of thousands of dollars to enter a high stakes league. And while many on here think that's silly to gamble that much...I promise you that the person betting the money simply wants to know if he is on the field or not. It makes a huge difference. Everyone has had someone die in their lives...did the whole world stop when you lost a loved one? Nope. And neither will the FF world stop over 1 player's brother.

Now if Reggie Wayne died and people started cursing him...that would be slightly different...although I could honestly understand guys that did get irate when you have that much $$$ on the line not only in FF but also the betting line weekly.

Betting is a big part of Sports...for some it matters little but ask yourself how interested you would be in the Colts if you had no players from that team on your roster, didn't live in Indy, and maybe never even palyed FF...you wouldn't care about them at all...unless your hometown team was facing them perhaps.

And 1 more thing. Reggie Wayne has millions and millions and millions of $$$, why was his brother driving a delivery truck? Does he work for Fritos-Lay? I actually never heard about Wayne's brother but it seems to me they were not all that close...I could be wrong, but if I was an athlete and making that much money, I would take care of my family and they would not be driving delivery routes...unless I was not talking to them.

Just something to think about...Wayne will return Sunday, it's been reported, so insert and enjoy. And stop with all the sympathy, don't worry about Wayne, he'll be fine. Money doesn't buy happiness and it can't bring your brother back, but he'll be fine. If you feel that bad you should buy him a sympathy card and send it to the Colts organization, I'm sure they will see it gets to him.

Maybe he wants to work and not rely on his brother for income?Maybe he owns his own business and was making a persnoal delivery to a client.Who knows.I'll be starting him
