does UPS knock or just drop and go? (1 Viewer)

We've come home after work to packages on our porch and I've never really thought anything of it. Lately though they just drop it and leave no matter when it is.

Tonight myself , my wife and my daughter were eating dinner and watched the UPS guy come up the driveway. Lots of lights on in the house, we were sitting right inside the door, both vehicles in driveway, and the driver put the packages on the porch and left. Seems odd to me, is this common where you guys live?

we live in an apt building. lucky if they leave it in the lobby (no doorman)... no way they're going to exhaust themselves taking the elevator a flight up to drop it at our door... even when we buzz them in.

drop and go

I would rather have that then ring the door bell. Gets my dogs all fired up when the door bell rings.

Sounds like a PITA.  If they are going to ring they should have the decency to wait if you answer the door.

some of them ring the bell and some dont, must just depend on the driver.

Love the Amazon text alerts though
This.  Also USPS alerts, particularly for when I'm not expecting a package (i.e. not something I ordered but just something someone has sent).

Depends on driver.  Some of them drop and dash.  Some of them ring the door bell and bolt.

I think one does it on purpose because when the bell rings my dogs lose their f'n minds.  I once saw a drop n' dash driver laughing as he walked back to his truck.  bastage.

I'm just happy when they don't leave them in front of the garage so when I back out I run over my package.

I don't get many people knocking on my door in my neighborhood. In fact, I disconnected my doorbell because it got my dog too excited and we put in new wood floors last year.

I saw a post about people leaving baskets of snacks and drinks out for the delivery people. I think I'm going to do it when it gets above freezing.

I only receive packages at work. Cheaper to ship to a business too. All the major shippers are at my office daily anyway.
