Can't believe this fall for McDaniel

It's more on GM Grier. Poor roster construction, trading draft picks for older players, poor draft picks. Cam Smith is still unemployed, Jonah Savaiinaea (a trade up) and Grant are at or near the bottom of PFF grades. Wright, a healthy inactive until today, was a trade up. Liam was a trade up. Ross tampering cost a 1st and 3rd.

McDaniel’s is the least of their worries. The GM and QB are ALL to blame.

I think that’s fair, but it doesn’t really seem like McDaniel is a part of the solution at this point

The only thing I'd say is McDaniel got sailed with Tua and got the absolute most out of that rag arm. You would have liked to have seen him with his own QB but it does feel like he's toast

He will be a great OC somewhere

Kinda where I was. W/ the Hill injury, and a bad defense, why not look to the future? They are missing a lot of pieces to be competitive. Wouldn't be surprised to see them shop Achane for some draft capital.

Miami was 1 for 10 on 3rd down
-Also the Browns only had 200 yds of offense themselves, Miami's defense wasn't that bad, it was almost all on the Offense
Plus the Pick-6 1st play of the 2nd Half, the Browns had no fear of the Miami offense

-Waddle gets a lot of heat but 1 catch? They didn't target him or cannot target their No 1 WR and then Waddle is standing off to the side with Achance and Tua, they put Waddle in the game
What happens? Ball thrown behind him by a back up and he gets LAID OUT!!!
I feel bad for the kid and if I were his father I would be pissed off.

Time to trade pieces out of Miami but you have a lame duck GM/Coach, do you really want him planning the Miami future?

-Paul at Left tackle appears in Year 2 like he has a future with the team, Brewer at Center inside is better than about half of them out there playing the position
They need a new Right Tackle, someone that can come in and start right away. They likely need to draft a RG or cut the one they singed this past off season and try another free agent

I think Miami is 2 good draft picks on the right side from being a solid group.
They might need to bench Tua and just play the rookie Ewers the rest of the season

Look, lots of teams have bad O lines and the Dolphins are no different. Biggest issue here I would say is scouting more so than coaching.

Miami pretty much since Grier has been here signs guys with sketchy medical histories hoping they will somehow not get hit by the bug again. You name the FA and pretty much this has been the case.

Now, the two years in McDaniels tenure where he did well, the oline reclamation projects held up but the D line got decimated by injuries (and that stupid helmet toss vs TEnn that cost us the 1 seed). The other year Tua got hurt down the stretch and we couldn't win in Buffalo with our third string QB.

I do not want McDaniel to be fired in season however. Last thing I want is Weaver becoming the interim HC and we finish with 4 wins and lose out on a QB or whatever. Evidently the Kid in Indiana grew up a Phins fan...
