Nothing to substantiate it yet, but that is what I just heard. Not earth-shattering, but good news for the Colts depth at RB.

Wouldn't be a surprise in the least. When he was on Sirius last week after Oakland cut him, he said his former teammates in Indy were texting him with "Come on home now." It didn't help Keith's cause when he was arrested two weeks ago.

Uhm please cut Keith my team will take him for nothing thank you!
You'll get him for exactly what he's worth. Might have been one of the worst RBs on any NFL roster last year. Don't mistake success running against 6 and 7-man fronts behind Indy's fantastic OL as actual talent. He cost them multiple games, including their playoff game, with his mental mistake.

Close to veterans minimum signing if multiple years a mill as SB - tops

But a competent back up/complement to Addai though

I thought he was pretty good for his first year in the league. He ran hard and was pretty productive on the field. He could grow and lessen his mistakes as time went by. He's a cheap backup option. Not sure why they'd be so eager to discard him for Rhodes.

He is back

Running back Dominic Rhodes has rejoined the Indianapolis Colts, signing a one-year deal with the team he helped lead to a Super Bowl championship.

Rhodes, a free agent after being recently released by the Oakland Raiders, will receive approximately $650,000.

Rhodes was an integral part of the Colts’ drive to a win in Super Bowl XLI after the 2006 season. He worked in tandem with rookie Joseph Addai, starting all 16 regular-season games and then coming off the bench in the four postseason games.

In the 29-17 win over the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl, Rhodes rushed 21 times for 113 yards and one touchdown.

Rhodes, 29, left the Colts as a free agent after the 2006 season and signed with the Raiders. He saw little playing time in Oakland in a crowded backfield, finishing with 75 carries for 302 yards and one touchdown.

He wasn't really that good. He is an experienced RB, as he played in the CFL for years, and some of the mistakes he made were really stupid, beyond rookie mistakes even. He's not a high character guy, like Dungy likes.Rhodes IMO is at the end of the road - no pun intended. He's not much of a threat to take carries. Neither is Hart. This is really good news for Addai if anytihng.

I think Hart is more of a threat than Rhodes at this juncture, but I agree it probably is a good situation for Addai owners.Notwithstanding his great Super Bowl game, Rhodes essentially lost the job to Addai two years ago when the rook decidedly outplayed him.

Rhodes looked solid last year vs. 2 solid D's in SD & Jacksonville at the end of the year. Like the signing. Should keep Addai fresh.
