- Didn't even try to project the multiple trades I think will happen (like Brian Brohm or Chad Henne)- I don't buy the Branden Albert hype- I hate that the NFL undervalues linebackers- I know I got at least one pick right.- I can't wait for Saturday1. Miami - Jake LongI think this was the right pick for the Fins to make.2. St. Louis - Glenn DorseyThis will be the player, but it might be the Saints making the pick.3. Atlanta - Matt RyanWith Long and Dorsey off the board, they'll go with the new face of the franchise.4. Oakland - Chris LongLong is as much a Davis type pick as McFadden, and they have plenty of RBs, plus it would be a major PR coup.5. Kansas City - Sedrick EllisNeed offensive linemen, but losing Allen puts McBride at DE and Ellis is a monster inside.6. New York Jets - Darren McFaddenAbsolutely need some playmakers and DMF could give the Jets the instant AP-type effect.7. New England - Vernon GholstonWith Ty Law likely re-signing, the pass rush gets the attention. This pick almost isn't fair.8. Baltimore - Leodis McKelvinWorst case scenario for the Ravens leads to a BPA pick that also fits their depth needs.9. Cincinnati - Rashard MendenhallThe pick should be defense, but with the turmoil at WR and the stated goal of running the ball more, Rudi is out of gas and the others just aren't healthy.10. New Orleans - Mike JenkinsSigning Randall Gay and Aaron Glenn does not solve the problems they have at corner, and LB was improved with Vilma & Morgan.11. Buffalo - Derrick HarveyPaired with Schoebel and added to Stroud, this is a gift.12. Denver - Jonathan StewartI know o-line is necessary, but I think Ryan Harris gets a chance and the RB situation is not in good shape.13. Carolina - Ryan CladyA bit more physical than Chris Williams and likely goes higher than this.14. Chicago - Chris WilliamsThey could pick just about anyone, but their o-line needs help most desperately.15. Detroit - Jerod MayoThe perfect fit for the cover 2 scheme and just the type of player their coach likes.16. Arizona - Dominique Rodgers-CromartieRolle has been moved to safety and the cupboard is pretty bare at the position.17. Kansas City - Jeff Otah They luck out when one of the top o-linemen falls to them and as you can tell, I don't believe the Albert hype.18. Houston - Duane BrownSince they don't have a 2nd rounder, they reach a bit for a guy that will fit their scheme the best. 19. Philadelphia - Branden AlbertRumors are that they're looking to trade up for him, but I don't think they have to.20. Tampa Bay - Devin ThomasVery late for the first WR to come off the board, but the Bucs would jump at being the first.21. Washington - Limas SweedIf they're going to run the WCO, they need to get bigger at the WR spot, and Sweed is quite physical.22. Dallas - Chris JohnsonNo secret that the 'Boys are looking for a lightning to go with Barber's thunder, and Johnson is being viewed as a first rounder.23. Pittsburgh - Gosder CherilusCan play either the right or left side and both might be necessary.24. Tennessee - Philip MerlingLost Odom to Cincinnati and need someone to line up opposite VandenBosch.25. Seattle - Dustin KellerTheir offense requires a TE that can catch the ball - their roster currently has ZERO talent at the position. 26. Jacksonville - Keith RiversHas no business being down here, but the NFL is fickle about the LB position. He's an upgrade to Ingram for sure.27. San Diego - Kentwan BalmerNeed some depth that turns into a starter soon along the d-line.28. Dallas - Tyrell JohnsonOne of Hamlin or Williams will likely be gone, and Johnson has FLOWN up the boards.29. San Francisco - Quentin GrovesWould give the 49ers a terrific 3-4 linebacking corps and a better defense gives the offense time to improve.30. Green Bay - Antoine CasonI think Cason is totally underrated and the Pack gets a steal to groom at the position.31. New York Giants - Dan ConnorTheir thin linebacking corps gets a boost when this stud falls like his teammate Posluszny did last year.
Down and dirty second round...32. Miami - Curtis Lofton33. St. Louis - James Hardy34. Atlanta - Kenny Phillips 35. Kansas City - Brian Brohm36. New York Jets - Cliff Avril 37. Atlanta - Carl Nicks38. Baltimore - Chad Henne 39. San Fransisco - Chilo Rachal40. New Orleans - Trevor Laws41. Buffalo - Malcolm Kelly42. Denver - Reggie Smith 43. Carolina - Early Doucet44. Chicago - Joe Flacco45. Detroit - Felix Jones46. Cincinnati - Calais Campbell47. Minnesota - John Carlson 48. Atlanta - Lawrence Jackson49. Philadelphia - DeSean Jackson 50. Arizona - Ray Rice51. Washington - Brandon Flowers52. Tampa Bay - Marcus Harrison 53. Pittsburgh - Matt Forte54. Tennessee - Aqib Talib 55. Seattle - Jordy Nelson56. Green Bay - Antwuan Molden 57. Miami - Sam Baker58. 4th owners in rookie redrafts would love Felix to be in Chicago  I like Hardy but I don't want my Rams to go after him

Buffalo getting Kelly in the 2nd would be huge for them

KC is giddy to get the QB of the future in the 2nd. I really like Henne

Atl would be very happy to get Ryan, Phillips, Nicks and Jackson....very impressive

I like the Arizona and Pitt RB picks

Tenn gets the steal of the second round

Good job

So the Giants get Conner LB and Morgan S, I ain’t mad at that!

Something tells me that Reese would have a hard time passing on the Hardy kid from IU

Love your TEN selections - too good to be true but a fan can hope
When Talib lied about smoking pot, his stock hit the skids. For a team that just rid itself of Pac Man, taking a guy like Talib is a stretch.
No Manningham lied. Talib was honest, but confessed to multiple failed tests. It's an interesting story. Listening to his coach tell it, has me less concerned about Talib than I originally was. He'll probably go in the first.

Ah. You're right. I have that backwards. The bigger concern is his questionable coverage skills. :hifive:

I've been hard on Talib in the Dallas thread. I dunno. I think I was too hard. Talib is a risk taker and he got beat too much in big games doing exactly that, but he's solid in coverage when he plays a little more conservatively. He's growing on me. I think we need to trust the scouts here and see how high he goes. He has a ton of big plays at clutch times on his record, and that's usually the kind of thing I look for.

No Tracy Porter? Can Dallas have him at 61?
Sure. But Scandrick is better.
Scandrick is a nice workout warrior with some fun traits on special teams, but I doubt he's anywhere near the football player Porter is. Scandrick avoids tackling. Porter is a heat seeking missile. Porter has better instincts and ball skills too.
All those second tier CBs kind of blend together for me. :thumbup:Regardless, I put the player in there to show that there's a ton of good corners available at in the 2nd round for the 'Boys so that they don't necessarily HAVE to take one with a first rounder.

That's absurd. If fans really cared that much they'd have burned it to the ground already.

Well, after the Ryan/Brohm goof, I mixed things up a bit and now have Brohm to KC, Henne to Balt, and Flacco to Chicago. Jones goes to Detroit.
I like Hardy but I don't want my Rams to go after him
Really, why?
We have so many holes on the Oline and defense that we need to get better there first before we go for skill players. It doesn't help to get skill players if you don't have anytime to get it to them. I wouldn't mind picking up a prospect at wr in the fourth round or so but I want all earlier picks to be on the Oline and defensive side of the ball. Wish list for the second round that were still remaining in yoursSam Baker - This would be my favorite pick for us in the second behind Connor if he was thereReggie Smith - We need a hitter in the secondaryBrandon Flowers :) I really like this guy for the Rams, would love getting him in the third but probably wishful thinkingCarl Nicks - good playerHoping for Connor to fall but I agree I think the G-Men pick him up

If the Steelers select Cherilus over Merling I will have an aneurysm.

DL is just as large a need as OL, and selecting a mediocre player to fit a need over an exceptional player to fit a need doesn't make sense.

I think Merling fits into the 3-4 nicely and pressure from the front 3 would make a dramatic difference in all phases of the D.

Merling at 275 pounds and untested because of hernia surgery is a questionable fit for a 3-4 defense first round pick. No chance the Steelers should or would take him.
