I dont ask for much from you, but I am going to suffer brain damage if I continue on my current path, and I am begging for some assistance from those who are so much more knowledgeable than I.

I run a 12 team league with 2 divisions of 6 teams and we use CBS Sportsline. We prefer this way to the 3-division setup - kind of an AFC/NCF deal, and we cannot leave CBS at this point because we have so much historical stats saved in it.

Problem is that you only play 2 of your divisional teams twice, and the other 3 you only see once, which is sometimes unfair.

I got the idea on these forums to add some double-header weeks in weeks 3, 12, and 13 (no byes) to solve the problem.

That brought upon a new problem. How do I do this within the CBS Sportsline software? Their technical support is horrid, and impossible to find. I cannot figure out how to add multiple matchups just for those weeks. When I select "multilple matchups", it does the entire season.

I tried doing it by hand, but I am clearly not bright enough to make the matchups all work.

I am hoping that I can benefit from the experience and expertise of others who may have run into this issue and solved it already. Any help would be most appreciated.

When I commished a fantasy basketball league on CBS a few years ago, it was as you say, you need to schedule the second matchup for the entire season. But for those weeks you don't want a second game just enter "bye" for all teams. I believe that was/is the way it works, as best as my memory recalls.

I don't want to turn this into a hate-on-CBS post, but I feel your pain. Just making a one-week double header schedule is a royal pain in the ####. I actually spent the better part of 20 hours writing an excel spreadsheet complete with macros to calculate playoff seeding to do it the way I wanted. Granted, the schedule part was much simpler to do than the playoff seeding macro, but why should I have to do all this work for a service I pay so much for?

My recommendation is to make an excel spreadsheet with 12 reference cells for each team name. Then use formulas for the weekly matchups that read from the 12 reference cells. Once you get the schedule figured out and correct, then any time you change the order of team names for the next season, the schedule automatically updates.

I'm sure a MFL disciple will chime in that they can't believe we pay for CBS, but the scheduling is really the only thing about CBS that is a pain IMO.

I am doing it manually right now - what a pain. Reading your post reminded me that I will have to do this again next year, and I threw up a little bit into my mouth at the thought.I am not much of an excel guy. Writing that program would take me two lifetimes. This may be a one-year double header league, then back to normal if CBS does not make this reasonably easy. Wish I had started with MFL 10 years ago.

MFLhistory.com works wonders if thats the only thing keeping you from moving to MFL. Took me about an hour to do four years of history from yahoo with open office.
