There was all this talk that Gabriel was now Brady's go-to guy. A go-to guy doesn't get 2 catches for 7 yards. Did Gabriel drop a lot of passes? Was he largely ignored? I wasn't able to see the game so I don't know. I'm not sure if I should dump him while he still has some value. After that last game, his two previous solid games look more like a fluke.

Welcome to life with one of Tom Brady's receivers. This is normal.

Next week will be someone different ignored, someone new with a lot of targets. Although Brady himself doesn't look as sharp as previous years.

Saw the game (have Gabriel) and Gabriel wasn't a factor. Hate the way NE moves the ball around, I'll try and trade him this week if I can. Wish I unloaded him last week whike his value was higher.

Troy Brown (always has) gets big catches. He doesn't play a ton but when he does he gets it done. I've always felt the other WRs are expected to be like him. Nothing in the last several years has proven that wrong.

They're not "into" having one go to guy and all that. Brady's job is to see who has the best matchup and hit that WR. If someone does well, the D will shift. When they do, someone else has the good matchup. I'm quite sure alot of former players would tell ya Brady does that perfectly and most NFL QBs don't. Most have the athleticism or talent or bad habit and can get the ball to the same guy over and over. In theory, it's not supposed to be the way. The way Brady does it is textbook. It's NOT changing, he's doing it properly. It's not about a WR not being capable of being a go to guy.

No one would ever say that Gabe is as good as Branch, and look at Branch's numbers in New England. Not studly.That's the Pats offense. Only in bigger leagues do I think Gabe is an every week starter.

FWIW, on Brown's touchdown catch, Brady had all day to pass, and Gabriel was his first look. He was looking over to the side of the end zone where Gabriel was, he was covered, and then Brady saw Brown kinda sneak into a hole in the defense, and that's when he threw to Brown.

I was definitely disappointed in Gabriel this week as well... He looked so solid catching the ball and using his larger frame for position the past couple of weeks... I was trying to sell S Moss for another RB last week- at the moment, I'm glad that didn't happen! I am not ready to give up yet though- like I said, I think he has showed some skill...

I'm a Pats homer and big Gabriel backer. Not overly concerned with this game. Pats hardly threw much at all. What did Brady have like 140 yds or something? All non-stud WRs have these games.

I was trying all last week to get Gabriel in my leagues and was hoping that he would have an "off" week vs. Miami. Should be much easier to acquire now. Heck, with NE on bye this week, some anxious owner might just outright cut him.

I still think he puts up decent WR3 numbers the rest of the year.

A guy that most people drafted in the last round if at all and many plucked off the WW had back to back productive weeks of 50 yds and a TD roughly and then the Pats ran into a fired up Miami team and couldn't get the ground game going witch of course opens up the passing game even for average WR like Gabriel...anyone whining or complaining about him this week just doesn't get it. He's fine and will be a decent WR3 in 12 team leagues the rest of the way. Galloway drew a zero in week 1 and I had an owner in 1 league cut him after just 1 game. Only a fool would cut Gabriel right now.

OK, but what are you cutting him for? He is a WR6 on almost all my rosters...bye week filler with some upside. have you looked at the Patsies schedule the rest of the way? They are going to win 12 games and be fighting for homefield advantage...and they are going to have put up some points in more than a few of these games as their defense is not as dominant as SD/Balt/Den right now. As to what Otis wrote, I can't disagree with you as Branch never eclipsed the 1,000 yd mark and Ben Watson sure has not been lighting it up when all things were working in his favor. I would wait till after the bye and when he scores again, then I might sell him...but right now with the bye week I would think he is a hold.

Wow I find it hilarious that some of you call yourselves sharks when your ditching players after one bad week. Gab is what he is. A number 3 receiver at best but definitely worth a roster spot if you have the room for a #3 or 4 wide receiver on your roster. Brady had a horrible day this Sunday,(Maybe some of you can start a thread about dumping him as well ) but I expect better numbers from him. The Pats are thin at WR so I also expect Gab to get at leaast 7 to 9 looks a game with decent numbers by the end of the year. Probably similar to what Branch used to get with the potential for some bigger numbers. Not great but not horrible. If you picked him up expecting number 1 type receiver numbers than just keep on dreaming.

I don't think a cut makes sense, but I do believe he is a SELL. There are never super-productive receivers or TEs on NE because they simply spread the ball too much. Combine that with what is becoming an awesome rushing offense, and I don't think we'll see any receiver/TE on NE be a reliable weekly start.So, cut Gabriel? No. But sell high? Absolutely.I traded him away a week ago. There will just never be a stud WR on this Patriots offense.

While Gabriel only had 2 catches, he was targeted 6 times, and was interfered with on a couple of those targets.

So what happened? The Dolphins played the Pats tough (which they always do), and Brady found someone else open (which he always does).

Lay off the panic button.
