YepYea Tim can be annoying but he certainly is a man of his word.
$200 total.....$100 of it to me.How much did the man of his word lose?
Wow what a waste. If Tim really cared about illegals he could have saved that money and donated it to charities that help illegals, along with the other hundred he has donated to those charities over the years. If he really cared that is......$200 total.....$100 of it to me.How much did the man of his word lose?

It's really not. Notice Tim hasn't responded. He knows why it's relevant but doesn't want anyone else to. Ask him. This seems out of place.StrikeS2k said:Wow what a waste. So you only really care about an issue or a cause if you give money to it? I take it you give money to all the causes you believe in, right? It's really not. Notice Tim hasn't responded. Yeah, that's was Gobbler-esque in my opinion. Let's not get carried away with the "man of his word" stuff.Aaron Rudnicki said:Making some charity donations?Raider Nation said:Tim is immediately paying off on bets made in the Michael Sam thread.

I didn't respond because it's stupid. I give lots of money each year to charity, and I donate to the ACLU, who fight for the undocumented. I have also participated in marches on behalf of the undocumented in Los Angeles. But who really cares about this ####? And suppose I hadn't done any of this; why would that matter either? You seem obsessed with trying to portray me as some sort of hypocrite. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. It's really not. Notice Tim hasn't responded. YOU are the one who brought up how you had given "hundreds" of dollars to charities that support illegals. At the time you said you'd have given more but have budget constraints. Yet somehow you can afford to bet the same amounts over trivial things such as a gay person making an NFL team. If you don't want something brought up don't post it. You know, like how you think it's ok for people to ogle little girls if they dress a certain way. Don't want people bringing it up. Don't post it. If you do and it makes you look like a hypocrite so be it.I didn't respond because it's stupid. I give lots of money each year to charity, and I donate to the ACLU, who fight for the undocumented. I always laugh when people state that others follow them from thread to thread. What a joke. This is a freakin message board. You're bound to overlap threads with just about everyone. You won't find me in your chess threads, draft threads, or most others. Quite honestly, I'd be surprised if you could find me in more than 1% of the threads you create. So get off it.1. I have.YOU are the one who brought up how you had given "hundreds" of dollars to charities that support illegals. At the time you said you'd have given more but have budget constraints. 2. If you believe it's hypocritical for me to be concerned about budget constraints, yet also gamble for fun for my own entertainment, that's your opinion. I don't share it. My own entertainment is an important element of my life, and of everyone's life. I have high blood pressure and I have been encouraged by my doctors to seek out more enjoyment as means to relieve the stress. But even if that were not the case, I still wouldn't think that gambling is hypocritical in this regard.
3. I don't think a gay football player making the NFL is trivial.
4. I didn't bring up illegals in this thread, you did. I don't think it has anything to do with this thread.
5. I don't think it's OK for adults to ogle little girls. If you're referring to my unfortunate comments about Roman Polanski, for which I have apologized for, they had nothing to do with "ogling little girls." I also didn't bring up any of this stuff in this thread; you did.
Whenever I accuse you of having an obsession with me, you deny it. Yet that doesn't keep you from following me from thread to thread, trying to attack me and make me out to be a liar, a hypocrite, whatever. Surely there are threads more interesting for you to spend your time in?
Like I said, pretty shady stuff.timschochet said:I still think Romney has a reasonable chance to win this thing, say around 45%. Therefore, if somebody wants to offer me 2-1 odds, I'll take it.To recap, Tim offered to take bets on a Romney win over Obama in the presidential election given people give Tim 2-1 odds. The wager was then accepted by multiple people immediately. Tim then accepts two of the acceptances of his offer - Rudnicki and Good Posting Judge. Then someone posted the real odds were more like 3-1. Then the next day, Tim comes back and wants out of the wagers he accepted.timschochet said:Good Posting Judge and Aaron Rudnicki- I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel out on our wagers. After giving it some thought, I really don't want to bet on this election. I just don't like the idea of having money on this. If either of you guys want, I will send you $50.00- I'm not trying to go back on my word. But I won't accept any money if Romney wins.
I'm no expert on welching, but there is definitely a gray line here that's being peed on.
Note to AAA batteries and others: I'm not defending either party here, only pointing out the facts as they stand.

You have plenty of people coming to your defense - it's in your best interest to let it go. In particular, I would just ignore Strike. The thing is , aster he refused to pay, he continued to post here and also mocked me about not paying. Because of that, I chose to bring it to people's attention. Otherwise I wouldn't have.
youre right. I actually let the Gobbler thing go a long time ago. With Strike it's a little more difficult since he delights in doing this in a lot of threads. To be precise, it's not exactly a charity. I would like to see the laws changed with regard to illegals, so I give money to the ACLU which fights in their defense. That is not the only reason I give money to them. I have also donated money to fight cancer, and I actually raised $5,000 to fight brain cancer after my mother died.I'm also blown away that there are charities that benefit illegal aliens and that people donate to them. Not only because they are breaking the law and enough of our tax dollars already go to them in various ways, but because there are causes like cancer and PTSD where people are truly suffering. But far be it from me to judge where someone donates, I'm just genuinely surprised.
