I've spent some more time digging into the new DD and I've been able to find a lot of things that were offered in DD Classic, but not quite everything. I do really like that you can adjust the VBD baselines in the new DD just like you could in the DD Classic. I also love the wealth of information that is available for each player simply by clicking on them. It is a very robust program indeed.
Here's what seems to be missing to me in the new DD (or that I haven't been able to find/figure out)...
1. The Team Strengths window in the DD Classic is one of the features that I use the most. I don't see anything like that at all in the new version. Being able to compare team strengths and weakness (both overall and by position) really helps pre-draft (in keeper/dynasty leagues), during the draft (in all types), and post-draft (in matching up areas of team rosters for trades). This is the thing that I am missing the most.
2. On the rosters column in the new DD (in the middle right of the screen), it would be really helpful to me to be able to have the projected season points for each player on your team instead of just the points per game. Maybe an option to toggle back and forth between the two would be good. I know it's listed in the cheat sheet area prior to the player being drafted and then after they've been drafted, it's available if you click on the player, but if FPts (and maybe even upside) were listed there in the rosters area, it would save having to go through and click on each player and try to remember the numbers while comparing them. Actually, a toggle with all three ( points per game, projected points, and upside points) would be REALLY nice.
3. Another thing that I would like to see in the rosters space is the ability have all of the players listed together by position instead of all the starters and then all of the bench players. It makes it easier to compare within the position. Also, you can see just how much stronger your starter is than the #2 guy on your roster. A toggle between "listed by position" and "listed by starters" would be nice as well.
4. I still cannot get my Zealots IDP dynasty leagues to import the current roster. When I open a mock draft, the roster shows up completely blank. All of my other leagues had no problem, although I did have to change the lineup settings from 0 to 1 for QB and K to include them in the roster list in the 32-team league that uses TMQB and TM K. I spent the better part of an afternoon manually entering in all 720 players (12 teams times 60 players each) as keepers into a mock draft to make it work... however...
Prior to opening up the new DD, I had added a new 2019 version of each of my leagues in the My FBG page. When I couldn't get the rosters to import into the new DD, I went back to My FBG, updated the 2018 versions of each league to the 2019 version, and deleted the "new" versions that I had created listed below so that there was only one version of each league. Then I went back to the new DD and my rosters were blank again. So all of that time that I spent manually entering the rosters was wasted. Frustrating, to say the least!
I'd really rather not have to manually re-enter the rosters each time I do a new mock, especially since I am in five Zealots leagues (720 players times 5 leagues = 3600 players... yikes!). So, as of right now, the new DD is unusable for me in these leagues. Not a massively huge thing, I still have my Excel spreadsheets (partially based off of the FBG redraft and dynasty rankings) that I use for comparative purposes, but it would still be nice to figure this issue out in order to be able to have access to the most current info for each player, which is a big strength of the new DD!
5. I kind of miss the Best Value screen, but I understand that the program is doing a lot of the heavy lifting from this behind the scenes, so to speak. So that's not that big a deal.
6. I find that the Team Stats screen is actually helpful to me during my two online live drafts (through Yahoo). When you only have 90 seconds to make your pick, it's nice to be able to glance at that screen and see "Has Team So-and-So taken their second QB yet?" or "Team Whatchamacallit only has 1 RB and has 4 WR, so there's a good chance he won't take a WR and will probably go with a RB.", etc. This is also nice in my two actual live in-person drafts when our time limits are a little more relaxed, but you still don't want to take forever to make your pick.
I understand that you can't do the whole "separate windows" thing because the new DD is browser based, but it would be nice to see these things incorporated into the program, if possible. Thanks again for listening to my queries.
