Draft Dominator - where does it pull it's ADP? (1 Viewer)

The ADP data is pulled in from the same feed as this page:

However, the Draft Dominator will try to use ADP specific to the host website for the league, if we have it on file.

This usually causes some strangeness each year as CBS and MFL ADP in particular can be affected strangely by rookie drafts. CBS ADP in particular is often just very strange and not particularly close to industry standard ADP.

In addition to just pulling in those raw ADP numbers and trying to pick a data set specific to your site's league, the app will further try to customize it according to your league's scoring.

This is thinking of the situation where your league is 2QB - showing you standard 1 QB ADP is not particularly useful in this situation. The app does this by looking at how its own rankings change from average-league settings to 2QB settings and applying those same changes to ADP.

ADP updates at different rates for each site and time of year. Sorry to be fuzzy there, but there's no clear cut rules. MFL for instance imports automatically daily. For other sites, we have guys who go grab the ADP and upload it into the system periodically. At this time of year that might be once a week but as we round into draft season we typically do that much quicker. It's also worth considering that ADP is itself a delayed statistic. Once a player is injured, it can take some time for them to drop to the appropriate ADP level and sometime for their replacement (who benefits) to rise up.

thanks Simon - really appreciate the effort to go through such a thorough explanation. We exchanged messages last year on some odd results I was getting and you responded on those as well - it's a great looking tool.
