Drafting #7 Today (1 Viewer)

I haven't a clue who will fall to me, but I know for sure that I won't be getting ARod, Utley, Ramirez, or Reyes. Understanding that this is a 10-team league, what's the play here. I'd like to load up on power this year so I could see my first pick being Fielder or Howard. Peavy should be there for my second pick, but I could also probably look at Guerrero/Soriano/Grady. On the way back up in the 3rd, maybe VMart??? Any thoughts, greatly appreciated.

I like the 7 spot this year because I have been seeing one of Utley, Reyes, or Miguel Cabrera getting there. If one of those guys is there, I think that should be your pick. I don't think you need to think Peavy in round 2 because your round 3 pick is smack in Beckett/Webb territory. I think you have at least a shot of one of Howard/Fielder or Carl Crawford getting to you at 14. If one of them is there, I think your ideal picks are Utley/Fielder/Beckett. If things don't fall that way, I still wouldn't be upset with Cabrera/Crawford/Webb.

Good input. Peavy would be a bit of a homer pick as I'm moving to SD...maybe I'll just try to get Hoffman later. This is a Philly homer draft so I doubt Howard/Utley will make it to me.As for the Cabrera/Crawford tandem, that's what I ended up with last year in Rounds 1 and 2. Didn't do me much good. Both should be better this year though. Draft starts in 20 min.

I drafted #7 on Friday night for redraft. My draft took a weird turn as it went pitcher heavy in first 3 rds. So I ended up with Holliday (over Utley and Cabrerra), Braun (over Crawford), & Morneau. I think that you can get very good pitching later in the draft, so I loved loading up in first 3 rds.
