Drafting from the 8th spot in a 12 man. (1 Viewer)

Last season I entered this high rollers league with my bosses at work and got demolished. I went into the league with the usual strategy of stocking up on hbs and wrs and waiting for my QB and TE until later. It didn't work, I finished dead last.

The league scores 6 points for all TDs. QB's also get 1 point per 25 passing yards. The rest of the scoring is standard and there is no PPR. The main thing that threw me off was there is no flex spot and no 3rd WR. There are only 8 starting spots. I had tons of depth last season but no where to start them. We start 1 QB, 2 hbs, 2 wrs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DST.

What would be the best draft strategy in this league from spot 8? Last season I picked 10th and by RD 4, everyone had drafted a QB, with one team taking two in the first 4. I panicked after he picked his 2nd QB with the first pick in rd 4 and then picked mine(thinking it was some crazy draft strategy this league had and I was gonna get stuck with Jake Delhomme)

So at pick 8, should I focus on a top QB like Rodgers or Peyton, or should I grab someone like Turner, Gore, A. Johnson if any of those fall. With this scoring system, is their enough depth at QB to wait? Or do I follow the VBD system and take the top guy, which would be a QB.

Thanks for any advice.

Wrong forum - maybe a mod will move it to AC Forum...

BUT take the best player - RB or WR in the first and then decide whether to take a QB in the second...or third....or fourth
