Easily the most dominant rookie corner I've seen since Deion Sanders...easily.
Champ Bailey down?Hell, Deltha O'Neal looked just as good as DRC during his rookie year, though I don't doubt that DRC will have a far better career than Deltha did.

I don't get to watch him much, does he matchup on the oppositions best WR or stay on one side of the field?

Whoa, whoa, whoa....

I am a huge Cardinals fan, but to call DRC the next Deion Sanders is a bit premature. He has played well, and seems to improve every week, which is a great sign from a rookie, but lets get a couple year's of production before calling him Deion. I sure hope you are right though.

It will be fun to watch him on DeSean Jackson this Sunday. DRC is every bit as fast as D Jax, so maybe he can bait McNabb into a couple picks.

Considering Brandon Flowers had a better rookie year, I don't really think DRC is the best thing since Sanders.

But you already knew that. You're an instigating tool, nothing more.

X choices are too stupid to vote on

But aside from that Rodgers-Cromartie is a very talented DB - very good nose for the ball.

He could really develop into something special - but was certainly on a big learning curve this year.

DRC has the physical ability to be the #1 corner in the league. Antonio Cromartie should change his name to Antonio Rodgers-Cromartie to ride his coattails. DRC's combo of straight line speed, lateral agility and quicks, leaping ability, and ball skills is outstanding. He shut down Steve Smith last week. Let me repeat that - he SHUT DOWN STEVE SMITH.

He could definitely be the next sanders, bailey, insert shutdown corner name here.

As time passes, the memory of just how good Deion was will fade.

He wasn't much of a tackler. Big deal. He made defenses he was on dramatically different. He was so dangerous, that defensive teammates, if they somehow wound up with the ball, they were frantically looking around for Deion, hoping to lateral it to him. I can count on one hand, and not use any fingers, how many times I had seen that before.

I have no idea if DRC is the next Deion, but I figure I will just vote 'NO' every time, and can count on being right.

By the way, I love, absolutely LOVE the notion that a Chief and Cards fan have watched enough of the other team to grade out the rookie CBs. Caught a lot of the Chiefs this year, didya, LHUCKS? Rewound the ol' DVR every Tuesday, just to see how DRC was doing, Jacket?

Sure ya did. :goodposting:

Yup, the Cardinals didn't even have a defense out there. How crazy is that!? Delhomme was not, in any part of the imagination, forced into making any of his errors. No way in heck could that have been the case. Were there even any AZ defensive players on the field? Gosh this is a wierd situation.

DRC has all of the tools to be great, but let's not compare him to Deion. Captain Hook nailed it,

LOLACro playes with a cracked hp most of the season.I think he will rebound nicely.LHUCKS strikes again. way to curse the kid, you have approaching Tgunz like status

I just think it's funny that DRC was getting maligned at this time last year for having Cromartie on his name - construed as an attempt to ride Antonio's coattails - no disrespect to Antonio, just having fun with how things can change dramatically in just one year.on DRC vs Smith - how many times during the season did we see delhomme throw up subpar deep balls and Smith find a way to come down with them in double coverage? DRC took that away last week, and in general he made it hard for Delhomme to get the ball in Smith's hands. Delhomme played badly, but if you don't give DRC credit for Smith being a non-factor then you were only watching one-half of the play.

DRC is a terrible nickname. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

This guy is going to be a top corner in the NFL. As far as being the next D. Sanders I would say no because DRC can tackle.

I doubt this guy is going to make one side of the field get ignored by the opposing QB. In his prime Sanders never got beat deep and was an elite return man.

Also, can DRC play baseball in the bigs? Didn't think so.

After the display he put on last week QBs might already consider ignoring his side of the field.I agree he likely wont match Sanders' return prowess...but he'll likely be a better tackler. This kid is special....once in a generation type player.

I'd bet any WR headed to the Super Bowl would prefer to play Arizona and DRC rather than Philly and Asante Samuel. Just a hunch.
Not two years from now.
Unless Kurt Warner finds the fountain of youth AZ won't be back.
What does that have to do with DRC's maturation as a cornerback?
I guess my point was that it won't matter if DRC is Deion Sanders two years from now because the team isn't likely to be in this position again.

Karma. I now expect D. Jackson to make him look silly Sunday.

DRC isn't a nickname; it's an abbreviation. Feel free to take the time to type out "Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie" all the time though.

Sunday will be the day the DRC legend begins as the rest of the country is introduced to the NFL's next top playmaking CB...

:bologna:

I havnt watched him much this season, but what I find funny was all of the supposed 'geniuses' around here proclaiming they only reason he was drafted so high was because he had 'Cromartie' in his name

lol

Ok. I exaggerated a wee bit but he is no Deon.

I dunno, that tackle "attempt" on Celek was very Deion-like.

he's played very well but in recent memory i wouldn't say his rookie year is more impressive than Darrel Revis from last year or Dunta Robinson's a few years ago

Deion would have made that pick.
I was very surprised DRC didn't come up with that...looked like it went right through his hands...regardless, did you see DRC close on Jackson on that play? With the exception of that tipped ball, DRC handled Jackson IMHO.

Agreed. Both of those rookies are very promising. DRC has a short memory, which is great for a cornerback.

 DeSean had 6 catches for 92 yards and a TD. He tied a career high for receptions in a game, and had the 4th most yards receiving in a game in his career. It was also the most fantasy points he's ever put up in a game.
