Drew Bennett (1 Viewer)

I have seen this guy ranked as low as the #50 receiver on the board. I am confused as to why he is ranked so low. One would think Bennett is going to a more wide open offense than what he had in Tennessee. When Bennett had the QB to throw him the ball he produced well. With Bulger I can't see anything but improvements in the ability to get him the ball. Being tall he should be a good red zone threat as well. I can't see why he couldn't beat out an aging Isaac Bruce for the #2 spot in St. Louis. With defenses focusing on Holt and Jackson I don't see how Bennett would not be open all over the field in a good division for passing. Maybe I am missing the boat on this guy but I think he could really be a steal in the late rounds of many drafts. If he is on the field most of the time and especially in the red zone I could see a 1,000 yards with 8 touchdowns. Is that expecting too much?

I think he does have some long-term value as Issac Bruce is getting up there in years and the talk is that Bennett will eventually supplant him as the WR2 behind Holt as soon as the middle of the season this year, although more likely in 2008. Bulger likes to use his 3rd WR (although not as much as the Greatest Show on Turf years) and Bennett's size will make him an enticing safety valve for Bulger.
