I hate to drop my #1 pick but if he is out 2 or 3 games or more he isnt worth holding at this point. Thoughts?

Options?Yes it seems like a good idea at this point. WRs are always available on the waiver wireI hate to drop my #1 pick but if he is out 2 or 3 games or more he isnt worth holding at this point. Thoughts?
I wish I could drop him, but in the one league I have him it's a contract/auction league and if I cut him someone else with some capspace (though I'd free a bunch up by cutting him) would swoop him up for cheap and slap a max year contract on him and be sitting pretty for the next few years. It's tough because I'm totally maxed on capspace and I have room for some decent prospects that are on the wire... I'm torn between bettering my team for next year and holding a huge expensive piece of trash on my roster as to not upset the competitive balance.
option 1: better my team for next year but cutting AJ and adding talent with the 6 mill in cap space I get from 50% of his salary and his roster space.I wish I could drop him, but in the one league I have him it's a contract/auction league and if I cut him someone else with some capspace (though I'd free a bunch up by cutting him) would swoop him up for cheap and slap a max year contract on him and be sitting pretty for the next few years. Keep him for week 16?12/5/2011 4:45:00 PM et Coach Gary Kubiak said at his Monday press conference that Andre Johnson's hamstring injury is "mild," and the Texans are calling him "day to day." Kubiak said the Texans feel "very fortunate" Johnson escaped a serious injury. Johnson won't necessarily play in Week 14, but it sounds like a two-game absence might be a worst case scenario. Before going down Sunday, Johnson had 97 yards on four grabs. He would've easily topped the century mark if not for one glaring drop that may have been partially attributable to rust.
I would unless there is some really compelling player on waivers or you just desperately need a WR and don't have anyone else you can cut.Yates threw AJ's way 9 times in three quarters.Keep him for week 16?12/5/2011 4:45:00 PM et Coach Gary Kubiak said at his Monday press conference that Andre Johnson's hamstring injury is "mild," and the Texans are calling him "day to day." I am surprised at the number of people saying to drop him without any more info than is out there. Must be a lot of small roster sizes out there. In my leagues, there is absolute garbage on the WR waiver wire right now. Who is worth picking up at WR50+ that you can count on in the playoffs. Hammys have varying degrees of injuries....I am going to hold on to him til the end. Who should you pick up in his place? Roy Williams? Harry Douglas? Devery Henderson? Total crapshoots.....Not a AJ owner but I wouldn't drop him
agreed. it compromised my team to keep him after the first hammy injury, but who could've predicted the 2nd one... geez. The fact that i'm even IN the title game when my first two picks were Andre Johnson and Mendenhall (almost total bust) is a testament to the true luck of FFL... or jimmy graham.Where would you assess Johnson to be drafted in 2012? will it depend on his playoff performance? Will he be a value pick in the late 2nd to 3rd round?no reward for all the patience this year. Oh well. Might have even kept hi onthe bench anyway as his backups have been lighting it up (demaryius and torrey)
He'll be drafted in roughly the same spot as last year. He might slide to the early-mid second where I would consider him value. Hammy injuries suck, but don't have an impact on a player's long term value. It'll be interesting because the list of WR1's is growing. In my high performance PPR league, Calvin and Welker are tied at 299 FP but then there's only 40 FP separating Steve Smith at #3 (243) and Brandon Marshall at #14 (202) so Andre could slide. He'd be theft toward the end of the second round.agreed. it compromised my team to keep him after the first hammy injury, but who could've predicted the 2nd one...
