Anyone know how he looks in practice or how his shoulder injury is coming along?

Most teams typically don't practice on Tuesdays of a regular game week. His first practice will be tomorrow. We'll know more around 1 ET or so when the Injury Report is released.

Bump for an update --- any of you Brown's homers know anything new?

A desperate owner in our league (who also happens to be my little brother) has FWP and Tiki Barber on bye this week (4 RB on roster, must start 2). He didn't believe Droughns would be back in the lineup this week, so dropped him and picked up Mike Robinson (RB, San Fran) to start with Fred Taylor this week.

I'm considering dropping my #4 RB (Norwood...others are Edge, Dunn, and Portis), and picking up Droughns to be my #4 RB (or, I could be nice to my little 'bro and tell him to go back in and pick up Droughns if he's going to start)

I found this in the blogger.

Browns notebook

Droughns, Roye on mend for Sunday

Both players hope they will be ready for Raiders after missing Ravens game with shoulder injuries

By Patrick McManamon

Beacon Journal sportswriter

BEREA - Running back Reuben Droughns and defensive end Orpheus Roye sound optimistic about returning from injuries for the Browns to face the Raiders on Sunday in Oakland.

Both missed the Baltimore Ravens game with shoulder injuries.

Roye said there's a good chance he will play. Droughns was more definitive.

``Count me in,'' Droughns said.

Droughns said he hurt his collarbone, shoulder and chest when he was hit by Cincinnati linebacker David Pollack early in the loss to the Bengals.

``That (hit) shocked my whole body,'' Droughns said.

He said he did not play against the Ravens because he did not have adequate strength in his shoulder.

Droughns seems eager to face the Raiders, the team that stopped him from scoring four times inside the 4-yard line last season.

He's listed as Questionable on the injury report for this week. No word yet on whether he practiced on Wednesday.

Orpheus Roye still plays football? It seems like forever since he played for the Steelers...

Oh, as a Droughns owner, I hope he plays and plays well.

Wednesday Update from KFFL:

Browns | Droughns limited in practice Wednesday

Wed, 27 Sep 2006 15:23:42 -0700

Scott Petrak, of the Medina Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns RB Reuben Droughns (shoulder) missed part of practice Wednesday, Sept. 27 and is questionable for Week 4.

Coming from a Browns homer, I'm not so optimistic...the o-line has gotten worse this year thanks to all the shenanigans at center.
Even with the shenanigans at Center, do you really think this offense overall is going to be worse than last year? Wasn't there an upgrade at Left Tackle in addition to the Bentley signing? From what I recall the Browns signed to offensive guard. Also, the return of Braylon Edwards and Winslow, coupled with a year of experience for Charlie Frey; should help losen up some running room for Droughns.I still expect 1000+ and 4/5 TDs from Droughns this year. While he's gotten off to a slow start, I believe he's a good buy low candidate.I'm hoping he goes this weekend, A) Because I need him for a bye-week filler & B) Because I think he'll perform well against Oakland.

This will be Ceveland's last easy run game in a while. Droughns' schedule after this is pretty brutal.
Actually, if you look at Gray's Strength of Schedule, Cleveland has an easier projected running schedule over the remaining 13 games than they had the first 3 games. 2 of the first 3 games were very brutal. They have 3 brutal, 3 easy, and 7 average Run D's left on the schedule.

yeah, I didn't look at it in comparison to the first 2 games or use gray's sos, but: car, bye, den, nyj(easy), sd, atl, & pitt is pretty brutal.

Didn't practice today according to sportsline.

Reuben Droughns, RB CLENews: Browns RB Reuben Droughns (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 4 at Oakland. He did not practice with the team on Wednesday.Analysis: If he plays, Droughns is a candidate to rush for 75 yards or so against a very suspect Oakland defense, though they will be rested. Monitor his status throughout the week if you're looking for a solid No. 3 Fantasy RB option.

For those wondering if Droughns may be in danger of losing his starting job this quote from Crennell would certainly seem to indicate that isn't a remote possibility:

``He's a guy who we need to survive,'' Crennel said.

Just wondering if anyone has heard whether Ruben practiced fully today (Thursday) or whether he again sat out portions of the team session. Unfortunately, I'm seriously in need of him playing this weekend or it's Dayne City for my squad. :bag:

Scott Petrak, of the Medina Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns RB Reuben Droughns (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 28 and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

FYI...Just traded my #4 WR, keyshawn johnson, (behind Driver, Roy Williams, and Mushin) for him to be my #4 RB (behind Tiki, Westbrook, and K Jones). Bought him low so hopefully he pans out and can be a spot start if he has a good matchup to be my flex starter (12 team league) or at least improve enough to increase value for a possible trade later on.

That should help some of you gauge his market value at the present moment.

I tried to move him and McCardell for Thomas Jones in my league this week and got shot down. Can't say I'm surprised really but the guy who has Jones is in last place and his team is pretty wretched so I thought he might bite. But I agree with you, Droughns' market value is pretty much rock bottom right now. If he can play this week and do well (it's a terrific matchup) that could help make him more appealing at least for next week.

Yeah I figured it was worth the shot to get a starting RB that cheap. His schedule is abolutely brutal this year though so expecting him to be more then a #3 RB is asking for trouble. Looking at it further, I don't understand why he was ranked so high in the first place. That's just ugly.NO @Cin Bal @Oak @Car bye Den NYJ @SD @Atl Pit Cin KC @Pit @Bal TB @Hou

There seems to be some conflicting reports about whether Droughns practiced on Thursday. RotoWorld said he didn't practice; KFFL said he practiced but was limited and this story said he practiced and is expected to play.

Running back Reuben Droughns (shoulder) and defensive end Orpheus Roye (shoulder) practiced. Both anticipate being able to play.

This quote from Droughns doesn't sound like a guy who expects to play. From RotoWire:

Droughns (shoulder) practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, but remains questionable, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

"They're still going to have to make some decisions," said Droughns of the coaching staff in determining whether or not he will play on Sunday against the Raiders. "It's a long season, they don't want to risk everything." That does not sound very optimistic. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Edited to add RotoWire left out this quote from Droughns: ``I felt good today,''

Here's the whole story. Definitely sounds like Crennel is firmly in Droughns' corner.

Can't remember where I read or head this, but it's supposedly a subligation (sp?) that's similar to the Portis injury. It occurred on the play where he broke a Bengal player's neck, so the collision was pretty violent.Their big concern at this point, like Portis, is that he won't be able to take the full rigors of being "The Guy" as the shoulder will now be more susceptible to future injury.I was going to use him this week as my Flex, but have inserted Derrick Mason instead as the shoulder is concerning me. That, coupled with the 4 o'clock start time, makes Droughns a risky pick this week as we probalby won't know before the 1 o'clock kick-offs if he's good to go and to what extent he'll play.

:hifive:

(Rotoworld) Reuben Droughns (questionable, shoulder) practiced fully on Friday.

Impact: Droughns missed the Browns' early-week workouts but all the while remained confident he'd play. His owners can now be confident as well. He's worth using as a RB2 or a flex against Oakland's defense this week.
