The downside? You think there is none?Other than a player not being on the roster because you now have Eric Johnson on the 53. Who are you cutting? And then when he gets hurt...where is the guy you cut? I don't see Johnson or Brown being significantly better before this season started. Neither have shown as much (when you take the injuries into consideration). It looks all well and good now after week 1...but be realistic. And you could say...you could still draft Jones. But would they have? I doubt it.With Driver, Jennings, Robinson, and Jackson...I would almost bet there is no way they take Jones.Your moves require 3 players to be cut. Who are you cutting? No, but I wanted a proven talent to start opposite Driver all along. I like Jennings and I think Jones could be a player but I'd MUCH rather have a proven talent at the position. One year and he was huge. And yes I realize he has durability issues but you sign him for cheap for one year like the Saints did and you lose nothing if he gets hurt again. You then go back to the stiffs you already had. Where's the downside? There is none. You sign them because they are significantly better than you have and you're not overspending to get them. So given their talent and the fact all three were cost effective you now significantly increase your chances for success without harming your team in any significant way. You could still draft Jackson in the second round if you want; you could still draft Jones and you could still have Lee and Franks if you want as well. So nothing has changed negatively but everything has potentially changed in terms of possible success. I see no downside to any of the moves I've made and significant potential for upside.
