The NFL has rules in place to get rid of these kind of tactics, for the integretiy of the game. People would pay big money for this type of information and if it were anyone else besides the nfl's beloved commerrcial king I believe the commish would impose penalty's on the player as well as the coach. Your thoughts?

That was a surgery related to the injury which they disclosed. What's the problem?
ok, it was still a second surgery 4 weeks before the season started. And while it was associated with the first surgery it was still a second surgery right before the season starts. The reason the NFL has rules in place about injury disclosure is to elminate insider information for gambling. I guess no one else see 's anything wrong with this. If a secretary, doctor, nurse, limo driver, friend or anyone that could have known about this was paid by intrested bookies or big betters. This can easly turn in to a major problem in the NFL if there were people profiting from this knowledge. I just feel that if it were anyone other the golden boy of the league or with another coach the commish we bring down a severe penalty. Just my thoughts

The injury was reported, yes but not going back into is knee for a second surgery which I don't believe is part of rehab.It might mildly push the envelope of the rule, but the injury was reported, just maybe not all the rehab involved.Doesn't bother me, but it might bother those types who have a urinal cake with the Pats logo on it.

It's an injury report - not a surgery report.
There's nothing that says you have to disclose every surgery a player has. I can see how withholding this info could affect NFL betting lines, etc. but it's nothing that the commish can penalize.
I don't see how it's any different than Tom Brady being listed as Questionable on the injury report for 3 straight seasons. That's a lot more tampering with the actual injury report than what the Colts did IMHO.

I don't see the issue. They reported the injury, so what does it matter which type of treatment they decided to go with? Taking it to the extreme I know, but they could have decided to go with accupuncture or aromatherapy or using some kind of medieval poultice. As far as I know there is no requirement by the NFL to share what the treatment of an injury is, just the disclosure that there is an injury.At least the NFl has a better injury reporting system than the NHL, where they just say either upper or lower body injury.LOL @ the urinal cake. Teams are not obligated to disclose much of anything, surgery or otherwise. All they need to do is report ont hings during the REGULAR season (NOT preseason) and provide the following:On Wed and Thurs provide practive partipation reports (full practice, limited in practice, did not participate) and attribute a body part to injuries. They don't have to say what exact injury it is either or which side of the body. On Fri provide the typical classification of players (out, doubtful, questionable, probable) and again give a vague body part (like back or head).That's it.Teams have been able to hide major injuries for extended periods. Like Ellis Hobbs being banged up all last year by the Pats. He was able to practice, so they did not have to list him on the injury report because he played all the time and fully participated in practice.
