Dungy: Harrison & Freeney both expected for opener (1 Viewer)

Colts coach Tony Dungy expects both WR Marvin Harrison (knee surgery) and DE Dwight Freeney (foot surgery) to be ready for the season opener.

The pair may not be ready for the start of training camp, but both should be eased in later in the summer. Dungy noted that Harrison was running with a smile because he was pain free. He also reiterated that Harrison is not a suspect in the April 29 Philadelphia shooting and that the team feels good about his status. Harrison is still a draft-day risk, but running without pain is one of the first concrete positives we've seen in his progress. Jul. 9 - 9:35 am et

If true, Harrison could be a nice sleeper this year.
if he is still slated to start come back at the end of august what is his adp going to jump too? I think he's a 5th rounder as of now anyways...
In a startup dynasty league (HyperActive 3) draft this May, he went at 13.02. I doubt he's going before round 10 in most dynasty leagues. With this news that may change however.

I need to see him play before I take a chance on him. Pain free and unable to do what he has done before are two separate things. Previous to this news though, no news was bad news. At least we have some news regarding Harrison.

I believe Harrison will be back when he is a) actually in a real game and b) producing like the old Marvin Harrison. Call me skeptical . . .

im just now getting back into the shark pool so forgive me, but did Harrison ultimately get any work done on his knee in the offseason? or just more rest..same as during the season..

ie whats changed that he now "feels better"?

It will be too late by then.
Yeah, we probably won't see him during the preseason. I think I'll pass this year on him unless he really falls. I got stung last year.

I took a flyer on him in the 7th rnd of my draft....he'll be my WR3 behind Edwards and Bowe.

Seems like last year, Dungy said Harrison was cleared by the doctors to play, running, etc, but he never made it back to the field. Like others have said, its one thing to say he is "running" without pain, but does that mean he is "running" like he used too? Half speed? Can't cut like he used too? etc...

I'm not a Harrison hater by any stretch -- love the guy and was lucky enough to watch him play for a year at my alma mater SU -- but I'm EXTREMELY curious to see the details of this police investigation in which Harrison's one-of-a-kind Belgian gun was used outside a restaurant he owns that he was present at at the time of the shooting and then the one-of-a-kind gun was later found at a car wash he owns and yet he isn't EVEN A SUSPECT???I mean, certainly you can't convict the guy on that alone, but it must at the very least make him a suspect?Again, just curious as to the specifics of the case that would allow Harrison to not even be a suspect given the extreme amount of circumstantial evidence surrounding him.As far as his FF outlook, if he is even 90% he is a steal as a WR2 in re-draft in the 4th or later ...

Got him in the 14th round of our startup dynasty draft. As a 6th wr there is no real risk. He either does good or he will be gone, hopefully he will provide the year or so I need for my rookies and 2nd/3rd year type wr's to emerge and become productive. The players like S Rice, M Clayton, D Williams, L Robinson, R Hall and Chad Jackson. My lead wr's are Boldin, Coles and Crotchery. I chose to invest first in rb's and qb's (since qb can be your flex, Romo, Cutler and Leinart ) I hope the old man makes it back for at least one more productive season and my plan works.
