Dustin Keller (1 Viewer)

DKNY is coming off back-to-back stud performances against St. Loo and New England and he has 5 catches already in the first half against Tennessee. Is is safe to assume he's now a must-start and arguably a top-5 tight end going forward, or are there still non-believers out there?

He is definitely interesting. I think in TE-required leagues, he's a top 5-10 guy especially if you get PPR or 2PPR.

I'm even considering him in a 16 team dynasty league with no TE required...

How can you bench him after seeing what he's done the last three weeks?

Favre is smart enough to know where his bread is buttered. Keller should remain a great option for the remainder of the season.

He's getting some good targets in the red zone as well. Keller will get multiple TDs in a game at some point during the rest of the season imo.

I agreed with your thread the first time. Not sure why it got locked. You specifically said, he started off the game hot and had two good game the last two weeks. Why did you have to wait till the end of the game to make that post? Andy jumped the gun there...I would've liked to have seen more catches in the second half, but I get the Jets controlling the clock and keeping the Titans O off the field... I believe he had two targets that were negated by penalty that I saw. Favre seems to like the guy. I will be starting him ever week in the league I have him in. But that's not saying much. That just means I'm starting him over Fasano

He is in the lower end of the top ten at this point. He is on a nice streak right now but he needs to keep it up before we move him into the top 5. He was MIA for a while this season and top 5 TEs dont do that.

Well he's only a rookie. I think you should cut him a little slack.
Top 5 FF TEs dont need any slack. Keller should be a solid TE while Favre is around.Only a rookie and league will get to see more footage to see what he is good at and take it away. Lot of times TEs get taken out of games by defenses as they figure out how they are used after a while.

My point is that it sometimes takes a rookie receiver a few games to get rolling, so I don't think the fact that he started slow this season is all that relevant now that he's emerged as weapon.

What happened here? I actually started this thread, now it says '[scooter]'. I've never seen this happen to any previous thread I've started before. Also, any idea what '(Andy>hi)' is? That wasn't there before. Thx. pm'd w/scooter - all good.

Grabbed him a couple weeks ago of waivers. He may be starting over Witten for me very soon. Jason has become invisible in Dallas.

Why are people talking about Donna Karan in the Shark Pool? This has to be one of the top 3 worst nicknames ever used and there have been many bad ones that should never be used... like this one. Spell out his name, is that so difficult?

As a Jets fan, this looks to be one of their better picks in long time. I was excited when they trade up to pick him, and he is the type of guy that can really create match up problems in the middle of the field and in the red zone. He is easily startable in all formats simply because how potent the offense is at this point.

Amen. Players have first and last names. Use them.
Donna Karan? Who mentioned Donna Karan? Should be Dustin Keller New York. But I digress. Although, on a side note, tis' a tad ironic that you feel Donna Karan is too 'soft' for the Shark Pool despite the fact that the NFL on Fox has contracted Donna Karan numerous times to outfit their entire analyst panel. Donna Karan = no good. FatBallGuys Weight Loss Challenge = all good. Alrighty then :goodposting:

Starting him over Witten this week. The short week and Witten is still looking hurt, hope I dont regret it.

I am in that boat - between the rib and the addition of Roy Williams, Witten has become little more than a blocker

yeah..I'm highly considering this too. Jason has been disappointing the last few weeks. I think he is still very much hindered by his rib injury.

Loving where I got him in our rookie draft (3.10), with my other TE's being so-so (H Miller, D Lee), Keller really adds that missing piece. I like him going forward, and as long as they can replace Favre with another QB who can spread the ball around. The guys a solid target. Defenders were having trouble covering him, forced 2-3 penalties on the Tenn Def.

I'm still trying to figure out who CJ4 is. You need a effin legend to figure out who these players are :banned:

General consensus so far is to keep all things metro in the FFA. The monker DKNY is simply too fey for football. And yes, he seems like a must start. Favre always utilized his TEs, and seems to look to him often. Jets have threats in Coles and Cotchery that can stretch the D, and Thomas Jones has been solid this year out of the backfield -- this no doubt leaves a lot of seams and gaps in the short routes and outs that Dustin Keller and Favre seem to be able to exploit very well.

How do you guys feel about him in a combined WR/TE dynasty league that's not PPR? Do you think he has enough upside to be a viable starter down the road?

I'd probably rank him as the equiv. of a WR4 assuming a 12 team league.
Interesting... ok... so then he's be close to a WR3 in a 16 team league?
I'd certainly think so. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood equal of the #40 ranked WR overall. (I think that even may be conservative)I certainly would prefer him (with a steady QB) vs. someone like Chad Johnson/Holt
