Dwayne Bowe to Miami? (1 Viewer)

It's the rumor on twitter.

Evan Silva ‏@evansilva

Tannehill could take off with Bowe-Hartline-Bess in 3-wides. #Dolphins have great sked, are 2nd best team in AFCE. Just need more offense.

Erik Frenz ‏@ErikFrenz

Deal or no deal on that Bowe trade? Remember, Dolphins denied involvement in Vontae Davis trade before it happened.

Benjamin Allbright ‏@NFLDraftMonster

Cole might "not be reporting it," but KC/Miami HAVE talked about Bowe.

Apparently this came from something Jason Cole said, and he's now stating that it was a misunderstanding.
You are correct sir. UPDATE: Jason Cole says that there was a misunderstanding and he is NOT reporting that the Dolphins and Chiefs are talking."Just to clarify something: I'm NOT reporting the KC and Miami are talki g trade over Bowe. Not yet, at least. Misunderstanding by someone"about 1 hour ago via EchofonReplyRetweetFavorite@JasonColeYahooJason Cole

Miami also denied the Vontae Davis trade right up to day it happened. Miami has two picks to play with in a trade from that Vontae Davis trade by the way. It makes a lot of sense.

It would be interesting to see what Miami is willing to give up in a deal for Dwayne Bowe since they traded away Marshall for two 3rd round picks

This rumor doesn't make much sense. Why would Miami trade Brandon Marshall and then go after Bowe six months later? They are both talented head cases, yet Bowe is probably going to cost more than two 3rd round picks.

why would KC want to get rid of this guy?
Because he is playing on a franchise tender and might walk next year anyway
Then why give up draft picks for a guy who will be a free agent next year if your Miami? That makes even less sense.
Better chance to sign him long-term since they won't be competing with other teams while he's on their roster. Also helps them this season. Not saying that I agree with it, but that's probably why.

Whats the likelihood that he's traded this week and plays Sunday? I'd love to not go trolling for a replacement on a bye week.

Perhaps they thought this would be a rebuilding year. Now they've hit their bye week in a deadlock for top spot in the AFC East with the 2nd best defense in the AFC (next to Houston) and a cake 2nd half schedule.Tannehill has played better than expected and they're realizing they could be an offensive force if Hartline isn't double-covered all the time. This is a team that is two overtime collapses away from being 5-1 and tied for the overall AFC lead. One extra piece on offense might well be just what they need to make a playoff run far sooner than expected. Reggie Bush won't stay healthy forever.Lastly, Dwayne Bowe is a talented Miami native that WANTS to play for the Dolphins. Marshall was a disgruntled player who wanted to leave so he could get fed by Jay Cutler like in the good 'ole days.

Who is the last player to switch teams mid-season and have his fantasy production improve?

Not thinking of any...

The Miami native part makes sense I guess. But the Dolphins record is a mirage. Their 3 wins are against teams that are at or below .500. They could easily go 3-7 over the next 10 games with or without Bowe. It is not a cake schedule.

It kinda is. Only 4 of the 10 games are against good teams: New England twice, SF and Seattle.

They also lost two games in OT and could easily be 5-1 with a few favorable bounces of the ball.

Is this a fair knock? The entire AFC is at or below .500 with only Texans/ravens with winning records...

IDKit is funny, Miami traditionally the last 15-20 years has been one bad move after another. That said, Bowe to Miami makes sense, a lot of sense and I wondered out loud after Sunday and knowing we are 2 FGs from being 5-1 and the mediocre records of all these teams...why not now for Miami? They need another playmaker and Bowe would fill that. They have a pretty high 2nd round pick from Indy so why not try and trade that with perhaps another future pick.

That said, not one Miami beat writer down here can find even a whiff of this being true. I would not think this is likely to happen.

Dwayne Bowe will be a Buffalo bill when it's all said and done and re-united with his form offensive cordinator Chan Gaily.

You heard it here First Ladies.

Buy Jonathan Baldwin now, before you cant :boxing:
Baldwin is the worst route runner I've ever seen.
The Chiefs really aren't that far from being a respectable team. They have many of the important parts, it's just really hard for any team to win when your QB leads the league in turnovers and you have essentially no passing game to speak of.Their schedule also opens up down the stretch, outside of @SD and Den they should be competitive in most games.

I just received an offer...I would get Bowe for Anquan Boldin straight up. Owner probably worried about these rumors.

Why on earth would the Bills want to get involved in this? It would continue to be a disaster on the field with Fitzpatrick now pissing off 2 high ego guys with his continued putrid play. Bowe I can't imagine would think this would be an upgrade from his current situation and I give the Bills around a zero chance to sign him long term. The only possible upside from Buffalo's point of view would be to at least temporarily block him from going to the Dolphins.

As a Bowe owner, that would be awesome.
Why is that? Hasn't Bowe gotten 90% of his points in garbage time against second string defenders? If he goes to Miami that won't be the case.ETA: According to data dominator, Dwayne Bowe leads all receivers in fantasy points between 10:00 remaining to the end of the game. Over half of his points have come during that time. I think the improvement in QB play would be totally negated by the lack of garbage time.

There is only one first lady, and I doubt she hangs out on this message board.

Take it. Now.Bowe only gets better if he goes to Miami. You can't just rely on garbage time production.

link....?I sometimes don't get comments like this unless they are supported by actual comments from the player.....I think sometimes we get to caught up in thinking guys want to go play where they grew up or whatever....think we give that a little too much credit....bottom line, this is a business and while location may factor, Bowe after his holding out for awhile, etc will prolly be one of the first to tell you it's not all about location....theres also that little thing called money....and other guys on the team, etc....

to say Bowe WANTS to play for the Dolphins and make it seem like the end all be all is a little nuts.....why wouldn't he also WANT to play for the Patriots or the Texans or the Falcons or the Packers or the Giants or the__________......

as a top flight WR not sure MIA would be at the top of my list....

Will Gailey still be around next year?
As an AFC guy (Jets fan), personally I have not worried much about the Bills since the late-90s...I know his record is not better than any of the previous guys (sans Phillips), but I just "feel" they have more going for them now (yeah this season is starting rough) than they in the 2000s. The problem with tossing Gailey is that you guys would need to start over at QB. Not the end of the world, but that could likely result in another couple of years of rebuilding, and personally as a fan, i think it is important for the Bills to show signs of life until a team has arrived in L.A. A perfect time to sell/move would be in a period of change.

I agree with you, but there are some spots where "natives" do try to go back to. The Panthers have had a bunch of guys over the years come home (Proell, Stephen Davis). If I had to come up with another "spot" like this, I probably would say South Florida. With that said, each man is his own man, and to many this is crucial to come home, whereas to others, they are fine keeping an offseason home in their native state and raising a family there until they retire. In another sport, I have seen a ton of Carolina Hurricanes try to get traded back here in Raleigh once they lived here. We have a guy or two who literally played here for 1/2 a season (over a 15+ plus career) and raise their family in town once they are gone> Of course, none of them are natives, but there is a reason why many northern states have a flat or negative population increase and why the South is growing in population.

Route Running can be taught...I agree though about the Chiefs being a mess though, especially at the QB position....if peyton went to KC (I know it would never happen) IMO they would be BOSS

Wait. Who is the other high ego guy? But I do agree with you on the putrid QB play. Bills aren't going anywhere with Fitzpatrick. You could bring in more weapons for the guy and he'll still be mediocre at best. I don't think bringing in a player like Bowe would fix anything for the Bills.

I do think the Chiefs might want to get rid of this guy and get some value while they still can. How much would it cost to franchise tag him again next year? How long will he hold out this time? How much worse can his diva attitude get?

Dump him now for whatever you can get.
