Dwayne Bowe (1 Viewer)

I'll be as ambiguous as possible so as not to give away all the paid content goodness, but I had to speak out here. Looking at the cheatsheets Dwayne, while ranked highly enough to be a starter in a 3 WR or more league, Herm, Huard blah blah blah not withstanding he seems to be ranked way too low this week.

Why?

1) He's the #2 receiving threat on the Chiefs now. I think we'll be seeing a passing of the torch from Gonzo here this year. It may be early yet to call this, but that's what it looks like to me. He's catching the ball well right now, and if he can do that he's a high quality NFL receiver as he's got everything else you'd want in a receiver.

2) Defenses are still ignoring him for the most part, choosing focusing on Gonzo and Larry most of all.

3) This is the big one - he's playing the Chargers this week. They can't cover anybody.

I'm guaranteeing at least 6 catches for 90 yards and a TD this week - possibly more.

Yet he's currently ranked behind such flavors of last week as:

Andre Davis :goodposting:

Bobby Engram

Roddy White

Brandon Marshall

Kevin Curtis

Derrick Mason

Bernard Berrian

Isaac Bruce

Nate Burleson

to name a few. This is backward thinking - not forward thinking. Think about the future!

No good Dave, just plain no good.

Well, he's @ SD, playing a very motivated team coming off some below average performances. KC's running game is struggling thus far, and Huard isn't a 'put the game on my shoulders' type of qb (IMO). He's a decent game manager, but not someone who is going to light it up - especially on the road vs. a solid D. Sure, SD can be passed on, but only if Hurad isn't on his back all afternoon.

That said, I don't think your projections are brutal or anything. He did that last week vs. about the same D in MN - though it was @ home.

I missed Bowe on the WW this week, and passed on him for Glenn Holt last week

He could turn into a nice WR2 IF the KC running game improves and Huard improves. I'm not predicting Colston'esque #s, b/c the surrounding talent isn't there (not including LJ).

What does that mean??? Guanrantee???? and if he doesn't ?????? Not to be rude, how about, " I have a strong feeling he will put up 6/90 + TD"

I'm going with definition 1 here, in case there was more confusion about it. :football:

Plus Kennison is still hurting with a hamstring injury. Not sure if he will play this week but if he doesn't I see a late td and 80 to 100 yds. Granted Huard is no world beater bit I think he's servicable enough to find Bowe for one.

I Don't Knowe.

Sorry but I noted your spelling and wanted to contribute.

The only WR of the group you listed that I think is reaching a bit is Andre Davis. Sure, you can make a case for Bowe over the rest of them, but I believe the case could equally be made to go with the others. Davis must be rated high based on matchup and comparative team strength, neither of which apply to Bowe.

It's hard to predict what will happen any given week. One slip, one bounce, one exceptional play can make a 20 to 30 slot difference. Projections need to be thought of more as what would happen ON AVERAGE if these games were played 100 times.

Or maybe I don't find anything curious about it because I'm just not that sold on Bowe personally. But if you like him, play him for the next four weeks in a "rowe" until the bye.

First :hey: .Second, I'm just talking about this week. Maybe it's the bitter Charger fan in me.....well it is the bitter Charger fan in me....but until further notice I think any decent QB and TE/WR is a must start against the Charger pass defense. So it's mostly a match up thing for me this week - which I said above. But I also think Bowe's got some talent.Talent + opportunity + great match up == better play than Andre friggin Davis AT LEAST.

If anything I think Bowe is underated. With him getting to camp late he is a little behind. Once he gets the playbook down and learns the league, Mark my words you will wish you had Bowe on all your fantasy teams.

Bowe has Anquan Boldin/Michael Clayton/Colston potential. I think he will be the waiver wire gem of the season.

I'm finding more haters than anything...... Heres My Post on Sept 14th and pretty much got the "Herm ruins everything", doom and gloom speeches.

But all im seeing is a standout rookie whos making chicken salad out of chicken "####".

We have more positive games to judge him on at this point than negative games.

He called out the D Bo show and delivered.

I guarantee he doesn't. SD defense is going to punish the QB this week.
So just so we can set a bar, at what point will you concede you were "wrong" about Bowe?I've noticed your heading up the D Bo haters anonymous club

The Chargers secondary is in shambles, but this kid looked like a man amongst boys yesterday. If you don't own him now it's probably too late to get him, but I'm sold. He catches everything, has great size, and can break tackles after the catch.

Chiefs got a steal when they draft Bowe. He's a future Pro Bowler.

Guarantee's this week:Bruce :X

Porter :o

 So the question really is... how long does Bowe keep itup... and does he actually get better when Kennison returns and the D has to cover more than 1 WR?
It looks like Huard is developing very good chemistry and trust with Bowe. He's running all the routes, and making the plays. I think this continues and you have to play this guy most weeks. Maybe not against a team like Denver, but most of the time.

Bowe is Huard's ticket to job security. If Huard doesn't make it work, he's gone.
Pretty funny that a ROOKIE WR has to MAKE A QB LOOK GOOD....That's something you would say about Harrison, TO, - that caliber - not Bowe LOL.But... I kinda agree... maybe that says something about Bowe

So what do y'all think about him going forward? Is he for real in a CJ kinda way or are people reaching because of a few good games and he'll settle back into some Kennison like-mediocracy or worse?

He's for real. But the Chiefs' offense isn't quite there yet, so I'm strongly considering sitting him this week against the tough Jags passing D (as opposed to one of the worst passing Ds which is what he had last week). He's in the rotation at WR3 for me right now. If he continues to go off regardless of who he's facing he'll become a lineup fixture.

I think we'll see more of a traditional KC offense this week with LJ left, right and up the middle but I still think we'll see another Bowe TD when KC lulls JAX to sleeep and Bowe out muscles and jumps the DB's. I'm not expecting a lot of yardage from Bowe or catches due to a low number of targets.
