Dwayne Bowe (1 Viewer)

I can't believe that people are still buying I bowe at all.

What about his situation is going to change that will make him a productive part of KCs offense? Are they going to change from a WCO? Change qb? Get a bad defense? Is bowe suddenly going to find the fountain of youth and beat man coverage again? Will Alex smith even care or see it if he does?

Buying low only works when the player you are buying has a light at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise it's not buying low buying crap.

The only sign of life I see is a good passing schedule after the bye, including the Broncos twice. I still don't trust him and won't start him unless I have to though.

I've been trying to sell him, along with Larry Fitzgerald for an upgrade at WR. Something like Fitz/Bowe for Torrey Smith. I've gotten nowhere.

Must be nice to be in a league with #######...
Yeah, good one!

He must be in a league with this genius:

Started him over Fitzgerald.

I really shouldn't pay attention to the news sometimes.

Fitzgerald looked fined to me on that TD, FML

I did the same. I would be pissed if I didn't get drilled by 50 with the opponent still having 2 players left tomorrow. I'm dropping him this week for sure though.

Any hope for Bowe with the schedule getting weak after the Browns week 8? He has a stretch of games against the Bills, Broncos (2x), Chargers and Redskins.

So damn good, I cannot understand why he's being so underutilized.

Im holding, as my bench is deep. Played him every week so far, waiting for that breakout. I truly feel like it'll happen...

Just PLEASE be this week

I think he's clearly just a matchup WR3 at this point, not a buy low or sudden breakout although he'll obviously have some good weeks when he finds the endzone but yardage wise he's pretty limited in this offense from what I've seen.

Dropped, He was replaced by Keenan Allen, No one has picked him up but he is the most "owned" player and still the highest ranked on experts cheat cheats for this week of the WR's that are available. Thing is all those weeks I owned him that he gave me nothing he was the highest ranked of my Wr's. Huge waste of talent in that offense. Sooner or later I guess the "experts will stop ranking him up there in WR 2-3 land.

The yards are there from Smith... I just dont understand the disconnect.

Despite what ppl say, Smith does in fact go downfield. He doesnt JUST throw the short passes... Even still, Bowe on a slant route or a shot downfield should be a priority for the Chiefs.

I know they're winning, but games only get harder. Bowe is an elite talent, and he needs to get the ball. I have faith in it happening sooner than later - but my god, is it ever frustrating.

Bowe will have 100 yards and a TD some game.

But so will lots of other guys on the waiver wire. Unless your league has more than 12 teams you'd have to be desperate to even roster, let alone start Bowe at this point. That bench spot can be a bye week defense or stashed player.

I'm forced to start him this week with Cobb and Jones both being out this week. Here's hoping for a pity TD.

I'm still in confused as to why they would pay a guy 55 million to completely ignore him.

I have nearly given hope on this guy. Who would have thought the best wide receiver in an Andy Reid offense would be this useless?

Or maybe he's declined and doesn't care anymore after getting a fat contract. He hasn't had an 80+yd game since week 4 of 2012. Something is wrong with him, not how he's being utilized.

I guarantee you if he was being targeted 10-15 times a game, like every other stud WR, we'd all be singing a different tune.

He's running routes for nothing. He knows he's not getting the ball, or the looks from Smith. Eventually, you're not going to put in 110% into every route... so ya, he looks lazy because he's probably gotten that way.

When the ball gets in his hands, he ALWAYS looks super dangerous.. which is why I can't understand how they dont do it more often

There are currently nine WR averaging just over 10 targets per game: Green, AJ, Shorts, Edelman, Julio, Cruz, Garcon, VJ, and A.Brown. Marshall is close.

Bowe is currently averaging nearly 6 per game and on track for ~100 targets this season. Yeah they could certainly throw to him more, but he's not doing much with his current targets (57% catch rate) and it's not like he's wide open and getting missed.

I don't think it's even debatable at this point that he's lost a step. At times it doesn't even look like he's trying and he's having a lot of trouble gaining separation. I feel like you'd have to be extremely desperate to start him right now.

Coach doesn't seem upset about him:

“I don’t know what his perception is to people,” Reid said, “but this is a phenomenal guy. He’s all in … wherever we put him, wherever he can help win games, that’s where he wants to be.”

Bowe's view:

“This part of my career … this should be everybody’s mind-set: It’s not about numbers, it’s about letters,” Bowe said, referring to his desire to get “W’s.” “You want to reach the ultimate goal? You gotta sacrifice some things.”
“He’s the most unselfish person I know,” receiver Donnie Avery said. “He’s got the numbers, you know? It’s been a long time for him (to experience) winning … that’s what he told me from the start. He said he’s tired of losing. He said he doesn’t care if he has 200 yards (this season); as long as we’re winning, he’s OK with that.”

I dropped him for Foles this week. It felt good dropping the bum and I don't have to look at him on my bench anymore.

He will have a decent game now then some sucker will pick him up...ha

same here, in a 16 teamer with 11 offensive starters you really have no choice but to keep him in, but benched him for S Hill in my 12 teamer

I just got offered MJD for Bowe. I've pretty much told myself that Bowe will never see my starting lineup, but I don't think MJD ever would either.

You should make the trade, and then each of you can drop the other's player since you haven't formed that attachment with them.

Not that anyone was going to start him this week anyway, but:

Dwayne Bowe (questionable, groin) missed Chiefs practice Friday after being "limited" in Thursday's session.
The chain of events suggests Bowe got hurt in Thursday's workout, and was too banged up to participate Friday. His status is now in doubt for Week 8 against the Browns, not that it changes the outlook of any worthwhile fantasy contributors. Donnie Avery could conceivably wind up drawing more of Joe Haden's coverage if Bowe doesn't play. Bowe has been a WR5 in fantasy to this point. Oct 25 - 2:30 PM

this is enough for me to bench him in my 16 teamer over Dan Thomas or Alfonso Smith; but if he doesn't play my shark move of Donny Avery will be out the window :(

For what it is worth - in the last game Bowe was targeted on the first four passes of the game. He also ran more routes from the slot than he has in the previous games. It appears they are attempting to get him more involved.

they better with Denver coming up

Not sure why he's on my bench. I'm pissed I didn't pull the trigger on Kenaan Allen or Jordan Reed. It's not like I'd start him the rest of the way.

Is he droppable in 12 teamers for a stash? I drafted him as my WR1 but now he's my WR6

Antonio Brown

Garcon

Blackmon

Gordon

Boykins

Bowe

Rotoworld update:

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Chiefs are expecting Dwayne Bowe (questionable, groin) to play in Week 8 against the Browns.
Bowe missed Friday's practice after suffering a mid-week groin injury and will be a game-time decision. Even if he manages to play, he'll be limited by Joe Haden in coverage. Bowe is coming off a season high five catches for 66 yards, but is just a low-end WR4 this week.
