[Dynasty] 2015 Draft Prospects (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Bryce Petty - QB - Bears

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes Baylor QB Bryce Petty could be an "early 2nd round" target for the Rams and Saints.

The Baylor prospect has already had private workouts with both teams. The Rams and the Saints are in the market for a quarterback to groom, and both teams could honestly wait until later to grab a QB, with veteran quarterbacks already in place. Brugler notes that he has a "4th to 5th" round grade on Petty. Using a second round selection on Petty, may be a tad high for his services.

Rotoworld:

Sean Mannion - QB - Player

TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports "more than a dozen teams" rank Oregon State's Sean Mannion the No. 3 quarterback in this year's draft class.

Opinions vary widely on Mannion, as many believe he's the next best thing after Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, while others, including Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris, don't even think Mannion is worth a late-rounder. Mannion (6-foot-5, 227) has ideal size and played in a pro-style offense, but completely falls apart in the face of pressure, turning the ball over and taking sacks.

TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports "more than a dozen teams" rank Oregon State's Sean Mannion the No. 3 quarterback in this year's draft class.
according to NFL draft wonk Tony Pauline, the New England Patriots are referring to Savage as "Tom #2," for the comparisons he evokes to Tom Brady.
Same stuff, different year.
These late round QBs that get no time under the microscope always look great.

Anyone know much, if anything about John Crockett - RB North Dakota State? Only reason I ask is because he's a feature on draft academy and there's only 1 cut up of him on draftbreakdown.

Rotoworld:

Mike Davis - RB - Gamecocks

South Carolina RB Mike Davis "struggled quite a bit in 2014, and based on what I've heard and what I saw on tape, it had to do with him not staying in shape, which is definitely a red flag entering the draft," wrote ESPN's Todd McShay.

Davis was far better in 2013. "He's a bell-cow type of back who can wear defenses down over the course of a game with his power," McShay wrote. "I love how he protects the ball, can make plays in the passing game and read blocks, and I love that when he's playing at the correct weight he has good-enough agility and acceleration for his size. I think his best fit is in a power-running scheme, where he can set up his blocks and make cuts." Davis averaged 11.6-yard per carry in good blocking yards per attempt -- a metric measuring what a runner does when the OL doesn't allow a defender to disrupt an attempt -- across the first six games of 2013. The 5-foot-9, 223-pound Davis could possibly be had on Day 3.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Todd McShay compares East Carolina WR Justin Hardy to Jarvis Landry "in that he's a fierce competitor who isn't afraid to do the dirty work over the middle."

"He fights for yards after contact and is an aggressive, scrappy blocker," McShay wrote. "His draft stock is hurt by his lack of breakaway speed and average overall athleticism, but he has the chance to succeed as a Day 2 pick because of his elite ball skills and knack for getting open." Hardy recorded 121 catches, 1,494 yards and 10 scores in 2014. The 6-foot, 188-pounder has never been terribly fleet of foot and also posted only a 9-foot-6 broad jump at the combine, indicating his athletic explosion is lacking. He's reliable and willing to take a shot over the middle, though.

Rotoworld:

South Carolina TE Rory Anderson "caught the ball well and has built a good amount of intrigue around himself" at his personal pro day, reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

Anderson was unfortunately still suffering from a hamstring strain during the workout. He didn't run the forty and could run only a partial route tree (no deep outs). The Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers attended the workout and have all "shown a good deal of interest in Anderson," according to the analyst.

Rotoworld:

Tyler Lockett - WR - Wildcats

In a deep receiver class, Kansas State WR Tyler Lockett "could fall further than his talents suggest, giving someone a steal on Day 2 or later," writes Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus.

The 5-foot-9, 181-pound Lockett finished with 93 catches for 1,351 yards and nine touchdowns last season. "If there is a prospect in this draft who looks like he's simply too small to be regarded as a top pick, it's Lockett," McGuinness wrote. "A big-play threat who produced 559 yards on passes 20 yards or more downfield in 2014, he plays much bigger than his 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame suggests, going up to win the ball at the catch point when needed. An impressive route runner, he has quick feet that allow him to quickly get open and find holes in zones well." Lockett has been compared to Colts WR T.Y. Hilton.

Rotoworld:

Jeremy Langford - RB - Spartans

Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford "can fit in any scheme, but he might be best in a traditional power running game," according to ESPN's Todd McShay.

"He does a good job of pressing the line of scrimmage and working laterally until a hole opens up, and he's very sudden with the ability to make defenders miss once he finds a crease," McShay wrote. "He isn't very powerful, but he runs behind his pads and is just a grinder." The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries last season. "Most smaller backs wear down with a lot of carries, but on tape I saw him get stronger as the game went on," McShay wrote. "He needs to get more consistent as a pass-catcher because the team that drafts him is going to want to get him the ball in space and let him make plays."

Rotoworld:

Jean Sifrin - TE - Minutemen

NFL scouts like UMass TE Jean Sifrin and "many teams have stamped him as a late rounder," writes TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

"Both are justified in my opinion. His age is of concern as Sifrin will be 27 years old this season," Pauline wrote. Sifrin will actually be 28 during his rookie season. We love his catch radius and willingness to make catches in traffic, but he is not agile or athletic.

Rotoworld:

Nick O'Leary - TE - Seminoles

ESPN's Todd McShay writes that Florida State TE Nick O'Leary "plays crazy" and "opponents can't stand him."

That said, teammates love O'Leary, according to the analyst. "As a blocker, he'll take on multiple guys per play and keep blocking even after the play is over," McShay wrote. "As a route runner, he'll fight through contact and has no problem with working the middle of the field. As a runner after the catch, he works hard for every yard and does a great job of protecting the football. There were so many times on tape when I'd see him barking at his opponent, both when he laid a big hit on somebody and when somebody laid a big hit on him." The 6-foot-3, 244-pound O'Leary, was named first-team AP All-American, first-team All-ACC and won the John Mackey Award for the nation's best tight end in 2014. O'Leary's 4.93 combine time in the forty was "disappointing," NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock said. Colleague Daniel Jeremiah believes O'Leary is a fourth- or fifth-round value.

Rotoworld:

Tyler Lockett - WR - Wildcats

Kansas State WR Tyler Lockett "has the best ability to string together multiple moves in the open field of any player in this class," writes ESPN's Todd McShay.

"I can't count the number of times I'd see him make the first guy miss on tape," McShay wrote. "He can hurt defenses in multiple ways. He's obviously great after the catch, but he also does some damage on handoffs and he might be the best return specialist in this draft. He had six kickoff and punt return TDs combined during his college career." Lockett confirmed the explosion at the combine, running a 4.4-second 40-yard dash time with a 6.89-second 3-cone drill. The 5-foot-9, 181-pound Lockett, who finished with 93 catches for 1,351 yards and nine touchdowns last season, has been compared to Colts WR T.Y. Hilton.

Rotoworld:

Darren Waller - WR - Yellow Jackets

The Cardinals have had conversations with Georgia Tech WR Darren Waller about a possible transition to TE.

This should not be a surprise to anyone. Waller has a massive WR frame at 6'6/238 lbs with great long speed. The possible transition was evident during East West Shrine week, when Waller failed to separate against corners on breaking routes but won in a straight line and in contested situations. He should be a sixth or seventh round pick.

Rotoworld:

Stefon Diggs - WR - Terrapins

ESPN's Todd McShay believes Maryland WR Stefon Diggs "is a potential Day 2 pick because he is exceptional in one important trait -- the ability to create with the ball in his hands."

"He is a twitched-up wide receiver with really impressive stop-start ability and lateral agility, and while he doesn't have elite top-end speed, he is above average in this area and does possess elite initial burst (just a 4.46 40-yard dash, but an excellent 1.53-second 10-yard split)," McShay wrote. "He almost always makes the first defender miss either after the catch or as a returner (which might end up being his best role in the pros), and he can string together multiple moves with the ball in his hands." The analyst clarifies that Diggs "isn't likely to go in the first two rounds" because of his size and health concerns, but calls him a "big-time playmaker in the open field" who could be a potential steal. The 6-foot, 195-pound Diggs was called the "sleeper favorite" of Football Outsiders' Playmaker Score metric.

Rotoworld:

Brian Parker - TE - Great Danes

Albany TE Brian Parker visited the Bengals, had a private workout with the Eagles, and has also drawn interest from the Vikings, Bills and Seahawks, reports the National Football Post's Aaron Wilson.

"Parker is emerging as a draft sleeper," Wilson wrote. The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder caught 39 passes for 500 yard and five touchdowns last season and had 30 receptions for 355 yards and two scores as a junior. Parker is Rotoworld's favorite sleeper tight end and Josh Norris ranks him No. 9 at the position. Parker's SPARQ% of 88.7 was the highest at his position by more than 20 points. He has worked out for representatives from all 32 NFL teams, so you can bet he won't be forgotten about later this week.

Rotoworld:

Damarr Aultman - WR - Black Bears

Maine WR Damarr Aultman "was a consistent threat at Maine the past three seasons and possesses enough ability to get consideration as a fifth receiver at the next level," notes TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

The little-known Aultman had career-high 48 receptions last year. He leaped -- literally -- onto the radar last month at his pro day, running a 4.39 forty with a 41-inch vertical and 10"8 broad jump at 5-foot-10, 203 pounds. "Slightly undersized receiver who displays skill running after the catch," Pauline wrote. "Effectively finds the clearing in the middle the field, remains focused and comes away with the difficult catch in a crowd. Possesses solid eye/hand coordination, nicely adjusts to errant throws and plays with a lot of quickness. Competes to come away with receptions, quick footed and keeps the play in bounds running after the catch. Flashes the ability to beat defenders down the field. Tracks the deep ball and makes the difficult over the shoulder reception. Gives effort blocking downfield." Aultman is small, on the other hand, and must learn to better catch the ball away from his body.

Rotoworld:

Ben Koyack - TE - Fighting Irish

Notre Dame TE Ben Koyack is "moving North on boards," reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

"Teams feel he was misused at Notre Dame and feel its just a matter of getting Koyack to play to his size/speed numbers," Pauline wrote. Koyack had only 30 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns last season. At his pro day, the 6-foot-4 7/8, 257-pounder (10 7/8 inch hands) ran the forty in 4.76 and 4.82 seconds.

Rotoworld:

Connor Halliday - QB - Cougars

An anonymous NFL scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that "nobody" at Washington State "was sorry to see" QB Connor Halliday leave and he "can't find anybody there that liked this guy."

Tell us how they really feel. If the Wazzu coaching staff is indeed trashing Halliday out the door (which wouldn't be terribly surprising, as they did so rather publicly with DT Xavier Cooper), it could hurt the signal-caller's tenuous draft stock. Since we can't confirm or deny this report, lets stick to his on-field evaluation. "He finds the open guy well at times but then he throws into coverage too often," the scout said. Another concluded: "He's got a talented arm. Plays in a wide-open system. He's smart enough (Wonderlic of 22). He'll need a little bit of work on his footwork, but he's got enough to take a shot on." The 6-foot-3, 204-pound Halliday threw for 11,308 yards and 90 touchdowns in college.

Rotoworld:

David Johnson - RB - Panthers

NFL Network's Mike Mayock ranks UNI RB David Johnson over Boise State RB Jay Ajayi.

With the latest news on how some teams view Ajayi's knee, we thought the ranking was noteworthy. Granted, Johnson is listed at 66 overall and Ajayi is at 67 overall, placing them as running backs seven and eight respectively. We view Johnson as a receiving threat before a running threat.

Rotoworld:

Cody Fajardo - QB - Wolf Pack

Nevada QB Cody Fajardo is "a better pure passer than [Colin] Kaepernick but not as big or strong," an anonymous NFL scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

"Really a nice athlete," the scout said. "But he's short and hot and cold." Fajardo (6-foot-1 5/8, 223 pounds), who had a Wonderlic score of 31, runs a 4.58 forty. "Not really an established or consistent passer," another scout said. "Somebody that you could develop because of the athletic traits." We prefer other developmental signal-callers.

Rotoworld:

Wes Saxton - TE - Jaguars

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline advises that you shouldn't "be surprised if [south Alabama TE Wes Saxton] is drafted much earlier than presently predicted."

"Teams love his speed and athleticism and feel the fourth round is not too early for his services," Pauline wrote. The South Alabama prospect hauled in only 20 catches for 155 yards this season, but he missed three games due to injury. In Saxton's junior season, he hauled in 50 receptions for 635 yards, averaging 12.7 yards a carry. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Saxton is a an intriguing "move" prospect.
