Opinions vary across the board on Washington. Some draft analysts are quite high on him while others see him more as a day two pick. The next linked article that I am posting is from a Texans website staffer that that sees Washington as a top 4 WR prospect.

 
ESPN's Todd McShay wants to see how Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta handles the higher competition this week at the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Lauletta (6'3/217) put up quality numbers during his time at Richmond, but didn't exactly face NFL competition. McShay compares his scenario to former Delaware/current 49er Jimmy Garoppolo, who saw his stock soar with a strong Senior Bowl. "It was sometimes difficult to gauge the velocity of Lauletta's drive throws on tape, so I'm also interested to see his arm strength in person," McShay writes. This could be one of several quarterbacks to keep an eye on this week.

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay says the interview process will be important for Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph during the Senior Bowl practices.

Because Rudolph will miss the game with a sprain foot, all Rudolph will be able to do is weigh-in and interview. McShay believes the latter will be important for the former Cowboys signal-caller. As he writes: "Coming from that system at Oklahoma State, it will be important to show NFL teams that he can quickly digest and process information at the chalkboard." Rudolph currently projects as a second-to-third round pick.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. lists San Diego State RB Rashaad Penny as a potential "mid-round steal."

In a list ranking the top non-QBs in the Senior Bowl, Kiper compares Penny to Kareem Hunt as a player that could go in the middle rounds who end up being undervalued. "I think Penny could go in the second round, though he doesn't have the all-around game of Hunt," says Kiper. "Penny is going to test well."

Looks like opinions even vary on what is considered mid round.

I take things technically, so in a 7 round draft that is round 4 and if we are talking about a range I'd say rounds 3-5.

But now reference the quote  from Mel Kiper said about Penny. He calls him a mid-round steal and goes on to say he thinks he could be gone in round 2. Round two is not mid round to me.

We might all agree on what mid round is here, but I think some of these people are throwing out terms like that without really thinking about what really qualifies as a mid round pick.

Kiper can think that Penny "could be a potential mid-round steal" while also stating that he thinks Penny "could go in the second round," and that doesn't mean he considers round 2 as "mid round."  It means that he thinks he could be a potential steal in rounds 3-5, while being possible that he's taken in round 2.  No?  At least, that's how I'd read that.

Don't want to get into argument over semantics but no I don't think you can say someone is a mid round steal while at the same time saying you think they will go in round 2. It really can't be both and if you are trying to say both you are saying nothing at all but only covering your bases. You want to say you think they should be a round two player but he won't be and will instead be a mid round steal that is another subject entirely but that's not what he said.

Which goes back to point that these people are throwing out terms like mid round without really thinking of what they are saying. Done here.

But he didn't say he IS a mid round steal. He said he's a potential mid round steal, one that could go in round two.  Perfectly fine, and that's not saying he's both a second rounder and a mid round steal.  

Flip the thoughts around even if you'd like.  Penny could go in the second.  If he doesn't, he's a potential mid round steal.  Totally agree with that.  

And totally agree with you that the second isn't a mid round.

 
An NFL GM told Walter Football's Charlie Campbell that he believes that Wyoming QB Josh Allen "could explode as a prospect at the combine."

"That general manager thinks that Allen is going to have a tremendous performance, showing off his powerful arm, athleticism and size," Campbell writes. He additionally passes along that a different NFL GM whom he spoke with is particularly keen on getting Allen into the interview process at the combine, in order to probe his leadership mindset. We've heard repeated strong reviews of Allen's mental makeup and expect him to play up well when speaking with NFL teams. At the Senior Bowl this week, the potential top-10 selection measured in at 6-foot-4, 237 pounds. His work in practice leading up to the game figures to play a real part in his draft evaluation. Chad Reuter of NFL.com believes that no player has more to prove in this setting than Allen.

If your hypothesis is that Baker Mayfield's completion percentage benefitted from short passes, and thus his completion % is inflated relative to his peers, well you're just dead wrong. 1/2

His aDOT was over 11. That is not the aDOT of a dink and dunker. According to PFF he attempted 67 deep passes, and completed 65.7% of them, best in the nation. If you remove drops, his comp% skyrockets to 82.6% Under pressure his comp was 70%, 5th in the nation.

He completed a higher % of deep passes than Josh Allen completed of all his passes? That is....impressive.

 
Penn State WR DaeSean Hamilton was added to the Senior Bowl roster earlier this week.

Hamilton is pulling off a trick that we've always been fans of, working double-duty at the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl. During the former event, he hauled in a pair of passes for 42 yards, though he also had a costly drop which might have resulted in a touchdown had he caught the ball. More importantly, the athletic wideout was a consistent positive performer in practice. Now, onward to Mobile. At the Senior Bowl this week, Hamilton measured in at 6-foot, 202 pounds. He'll be in the Day 2 mix come the spring draft.

Meanwhile, QB Baker Mayfield's measurements remained a mystery, at least for the rest of the morning. The former Oklahoma quarterback missed the weigh-in due to a family matter, but is expected to be measured and weighed prior to practice upon his arrival later Tuesday. Mayfield's height (he's listed by Oklahoma at 6-1) is one of the most intriguing measurables not only at the Senior Bowl but for the 2018 draft in general.

This is great news for Mayfield, who some believed would measure in at 5-foot-11. That inch is probably more important in perception than reality, but Mayfield will no doubt appreciate not having to deal with the sub-6-foot quarterback narrative. In Daniel Jeremiah's first mock draft, he slotted Mayfield to the Redskins at No. 13. At this point, it'd be a surprise if Mayfield slipped out of the top-half of Round 1. He's already wowing onlookers at the Senior Bowl with his elite accuracy.

Thanks. I had him pegged between 6' & 6’1 which ended up being right on.

Did you hear his hand size?

 
Very good hand measurement for Mayfield at 9.5".

Well above the minimum standard. There was some concern Mayfield had baby hands, but 9.5 should alleviate any doubts.

I watched some clips of him yesterday after the practices and everyone was raving about him.  And apparently doesn't have a combine invite yet.  Great story, but the story isn't what you would be drafting, he's really good.
