[Dynasty] 2018 Draft Class (2 Viewers)

Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph went through a private workout with the Patriots on Friday.

The Patriots could very much be in the market for a quarterback in Rudolph's expected draft range, as they own picks Nos. 23 and 31 in the first round. Earlier this week, MMQB's Peter King speculated that New England's logical move in drafting a potential replacement for Tom Brady would be to stay pat, rather than attempt to trade up for one of the top signal-callers in the class. Another quarterback needy club -- picking right before the Patriots at No. 22 -- is the Bills. They're bringing Rudolph in for an official predraft visit this weekend. The Chargers, Saints, Giants and Bengals have all additionally been in touch with the Oklahoma State standout during the draft process.

ESPN's Todd McShay ranks Texas Tech WR Keke Coutee third on his All-Satellite team.

Coutee ranks only behind Penn State's Saquon Barkley and Louisville's Lamar Jackson, so this is good company. Not only did he has 1,429 yards receiving last year, but he also averaged 31 yards on his kick returns. As McShay notes, the Red Raider wideout is undersized, but he's "twitched up." He projects right now to go on Day 2, and his ability to make plays in the return game and after the catch could allow him to play immediately.

Florida WR Antonio Callaway is visiting the #Jets on Monday.

Callaway is widely viewed as one of the draft's top talents t the position. And due to his documented issues at Florida, teams want to be extra comfortable when considering drafting him. That's where visits and workouts come into play. Callaway will likely be a fourth-round pick or later. Just one team needs to give him a chance.

You didn’t read it. He’s talking about DE Bradley Chubb at 10th.

I agree that Chubb at 10 is heinous. Teams would be trading up. That whole mock looks super off base. I mean, they have Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph in the 1st and Josh Allen in the 2nd. Classic case of the site’s mock taking into account their observations and rankings and ignoring the news around teams indicating that they value the players completely different.
Josh Allen should go last of the 6 qbs. He’ll probably get drafted way too early in reality. If that is your point, then I agree.

That is my point, yes. Not saying anything about their rankings, I have not delved deeply enough into the QB class to give an educated opinion. However, the vast majority of mocks agree on the same 4 QBs going first with most of them calling for them to go in the top 12 (since most mocks won't predict a trade up which seems like a lock to me if the Giants or Broncos pass on QB). Most mocks are 1 part rankings, 1 part team needs,1 part news and 1 part reading between the lines of the news. PFF's  mock takes into rankings and needs only. I can appreciate that, mocks are all just for fun and clicks anway, but I probably won't hold my breath thinking my Bears have a shot at Chubb.

Rotoworld's Josh Norris passes along that Miami RB Mark Walton is taking an official predraft visit to the Giants.

Walton (5'10/202) could potentially be selected in the second or third round, though we'd put his likeliest range as early on Day 3. While some parties view him as a sleeper back in this class, his athletic testing results at the combine were not particularly encouraging -- he posted a composite score which landed him in just the 15th percentile of NFL running backs.

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compared Penn State TE Mike Gesicki to Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham.

"Gesicki needs to improve his play strength and his issues as a blocker could limit the amount of teams who will target him," Zierlein writes, "but he has a chance to become one of the better pass catching tight ends in the league." The 6-foot-5, 247-pounder tested out phenomenally at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting a composite score in the 99th percentile of pro tight ends. The Penn State standout could potentially be the first tight end drafted later this month and we're not ruling out a Day 1 selection.
