Yeab i remember afro thunder....draftex by tampa and got hurt and then was out of the league....morgan does have nfl bloodlines...just someone to keep an eye on

Understood.  And Morgan looked good at Nebraska.  But I wasted a draft pick on Bell, who I thought was a pretty decent bet to be a solid WR in the NFL, and he had a good career at Nebraska and a better combine than Morgan.  Just a word of caution, no more than that.  I hope Morgan has a strong pro career.

 
The Athletic's Dane Brugler lists San Diego State TE Kahale Warring as a riser after his performance at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Warring (6'5/252) was one of several tight ends who stood out in Indianapolis, and posted a SPARQ score in the 80th percentile at the event. "On the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, Warring looked smooth during the drills," Brugler writes. "In the gauntlet, he did a great job using his body control and coordination to track, adjust and finish on the move." Brugler believes it's possible that the former Aztec has moved into Day 2 consideration now. This tight end class is loaded.

ESPN's Todd McShay projects the Raiders to select Ohio State WR Parris Campbell with the 25th pick in his latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

As McShay, there'd be something poetic about using this pick for a wide receiver, as this is the pick they acquired from the Cowboys in the deal for Amari Cooper. He saw his stock improve after the combine after posting a strong 4.31 second 40-yard dash time in Indianapolis. "e'd be an explosive receiver for Derek Carr (or whoever is playing QB for the Raiders)," McShay writes, "and has the ability to develop a really polished route tree."

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein believes that UCLA TE Caleb Wilson is a practice squad candidate.

One thing to keep in mind, this profile was written before Wilson (6'4/240) ran a 4.56 second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis, the second fastest of any tight end at the event (Noah Fant, 4.50). That time didn't answer any of the questions about Wilson's blocking, however, with Zierlein noting his "gangly build lacks functional mass." He also notes that the former UCLA tight end doesn't do a great job of creating separation; a most for tight ends in the NFL. "Wilson is a pass-catching tight end only, but his ball skills are currently below par," Zierlein writes. "His lower body tightness will limit his effectiveness underneath, but he flashes potential as a second and third level target."

Purdue WR Terry Wright ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds during his pro day on Tuesday.

Wright (5'11/180) did not receive an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, but his fast time on Tuesday will at least keep him on the pro radar if nothing else. He earlier took part in the East-West Shrine Game, though he had some issues with drops during the practice week. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline currently stamps the speedster with a UDFA grade.

According to NFL.com's Chase Goodbread, NC State QB Ryan Finley was none too thrilled with the 40-yard dash time he posted at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Finley's official time in the 40 was 4.73 seconds, which placed him sixth among the quarterbacks who ran. And he didn't sound too thrilled about the time when asked, either. "I can run a lot faster, but that was good, I guess," Finley said. "I didn't do as well as I was hoping." The former NC State signal-caller won't run at his pro day March 27 in Raleigh, as how he does in the passing drills will be of far greater importance. Finley, a first team All-ACC selection in 2018, is rated the sixth-best quarterback in this draft class by Scouts Inc.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline said on his podcast, 'The Draft Analysts,' that he believes that San Jose State TE Josh Oliver has locked down a top-75 selection for the draft.

Oliver (6'5/249) did not turn in a Noah Fant-style beatdown of the combine last weekend, but did test respectably, with his composite SPARQ athletic score landing him within the 56th percentile of NFL tight ends. His 40-yard dash time of 4.63 seconds tied with Irv Smith's for third-best in the position group. If Pauline's prediction holds true, Oliver will be off the board by the end of Day 2.

Where in the Seven Hells are the QB pass velocity numbers?  That’s a measurement that actually means something, and I haven’t been able to find them anywhere.

The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs views Georgia State WR Penny Hart as a top-100 prospect.

It's going to be tough for Hart (5'8/180) to get selected inside the top 100 after not receiving an NFL Scouting Combine invite, but Hart is one of the rare snubs to have a shot, primarily because of his performance at the Reese's Senior Bowl. In practices, Hart showed an ability to beat corners in one-on-one drills, earning the attention of ESPN's Todd McShay, who called Hart a riser. At this point, Hart needs to be viewed as an intriguing Day 3 prospect with the hope he slides into the latter part of the third round.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller called Stanford RB Bryce Love the "master of the chunk play."

This was Miller's reflection on Love's 2017 season, the year where Love ran for 2,118 rushing yards while averaging 8.1 yards per carry. If Love would have declared for the NFL Draft after that season, he would have assuredly been, at worst, a Day 2 pick. However, Love stayed for his senior season and sunk his draft stock with injury after injury. Love is now considered a Day 3 prospect, but he has upside as a big-play threat if he can return as fast as he was two seasons ago.

West Virginia QB Will Grier recorded the fastest ball-speed among quarterbacks at the combine.

Grier tied with Boise State's Brett Rypien for the top spot with a 59 MPH ball-speed. This is something for Grier to hang his hat on after receiving plenty of criticism about his arm strength. Despite being the strongest thrower in this draft class, he would be behind both Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield from last year's class. Grier remains a volatile prospect that could range anywhere from a Day 2-to-Day 3 selection at this point.

Wasn't that Univ. of Buffalo QB breaking fingers during the combine?  Ball-speed isn't high on my list of attributes for a QB.  Can he make all the throws?  So is ability to read defenses, football IQ,  and most importantly, how accurate is he?

I recently saw this on TV, the speed has a lot to do with getting the ball to the receiver in a fast enough time that the DB can’t respond fast enough to knock it away or intercept the ball. It was speaking specifically about release and speed they concluded Haskins’ time is faster than Brady and A. Rodgers.

Tyree Jackson, I really like that guy. Honestly, he may be my #1 qb. That kid is legit. 

 
Of course sufficient velocity is near the top skills required. The strongest arms don't always make it but the weaker ones always fail.

You can have all the other skills necessary but if you can't deliver the ball into NFL windows it doesn't matter.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein believes San Diego State TE Kahale Warring is a "big upside" tight end.

Warring (6'5/252) produced an 80th percentile athletic composite score at the NFL combine and has been labeled a "big riser" by The Athletic's Dane Brugler. Warring was viewed as a Day 3 selection prior to the combine but may be in consideration for a Day 2 selection at this point.

The Draft Network's Ben Solak believes Nebraska WR Stanley Morgan is "the ideal inside/outside flex player" for a team without a designated slot receiver.

Morgan (6'2/202) is projected to be an early Day 3 selection after posting an athletic composite score in the 88th percentile. Solak believes Morgan would provide a "tremendous return" at his current expected draft position and is a "great short/intermediate guy who can make some people miss." Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline reported that Morgan is "getting a lot of interest" from the Rams, Giants, Cardinals, and Saints. He's currently a Day 3 pick with upside.

NFL Draft Scout's Ric Sirratella reports that Lehigh RB Dom Bragalone ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and 4.52 seconds at the NFL's regional combine.

Sirratella passes along that the 5-foot-10, 228-pound Bragalone also notched jumps of 34.5 inches (vertical) and 124 inches (broad), plus a 4.24-second scamper through the 20-yard shuttle. These are all respectable enough numbers to potentially put him on the Day 3 fringe. Bragalone was an awesomely productive player during his collegiate run at Lehigh, topping 1,000 yards rushing in each of his first three seasons before taking a statistical step back with 757 rushing yards for the 2018 campaign.

This is Rappaport’s tweet.  It just doesn’t make sense.  Lock has an unquestionable strong arm and Jackson has a cannon.  It’s laughable that Grier outguns either guy.  Something’s wrong here.

This is cool. Got QB ball speed numbers at the Combine. WV’s Will Grier had the strongest arm with a 59 score (tied w Boise's Brett Rypien). Other top QBs: MSU’s Nick Fitzgerald & NC State’s Ryan Finley at 57; BUF’s Tyree Jackson, Mizzou’s Drew Lock & Duke’s Daniel Jones at 54.
