[Dynasty] 2019 NFL Draft Class (1 Viewer)

T.J. Hockenson is moving up the draft boards. Tomorrow Hockenson will be awarded the John Mackey Award it will be the first time a Sophomore has won the award. Dane Brugler of the Athletic has T.J. Hockenson going in the 1st round of his first mock draft of the season.

Not sure why Hockenson would stay now. His value is as good as it's gonna get. He's less likely to be a bust than Fant. Fant is one of those guys who is a crazy athlete but not as great of a football player. I like 'em both but I think Hockenson will be the better TE for FF. Fant is a riskier pick.

Isn't he a runt?
My point exactly.  He's the same size as Phillip Lindsey and a lot (maybe - did we just miss on Lindsey?) talented.

I wouldn't consider someone you compare to Cohen as anyone I would take early in rd 1.  Maybe mid-rd 2.
Thus why I said I was looking to get him late.  Although if he ends up in KC I'm expecting him to be in the late 1st part of my draft list.

Michigan State senior RB LJ Scott (leg) declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

A senior usually doesn't have to declare for the draft, but because Scott played in just four games, he would have been eligible to return to the Spartans. That won't happen, and instead Scott will attempt to make his living toting the rock for an NFL team. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound running back had just 180 yards rushing in 2018, but he ran for 2,691 yards the previous three years with 26 touchdowns in that time frame for Michigan State. We'll likely see Scott in one of the all-star events in January.

West Virginia senior QB Will Grier accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

What a loaded field this is already. Grier was outstanding statistically for the Mountaineers over the last two years, and he looked good doing it; ranking in most analysts' lists among the top draft-eligible signal callers. There are some who have concerns about the overall upside/the system he played in, but he'll have a great chance in January to show those doubters what he's capable of. We're excited to see what he does over the week of practices and game.

Dec 5 - 6:45 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Gaskin (5'10/193) was a surprise return to school after an electric junior season, and while he didn't put up monster numbers, he did become the first ever running back to run for over a thousand yards in four-straight seasons. Scouts rave about his vision and ability to find extra yardage, but has concerns about his straight-line speed and lack of ideal size. The latter he can't control, but Gaskin will have a chance to show off his athleticism in Mobile.

Dec 5 - 5:00 PM

FAU redshirt junior WR Jovon Durante declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Durante made the announcement on his Twitter page. At 6-foot, 165-pounds, the redshirt junior wideout doesn't have elite size, but he did post a solid line of 65/873/5 for the Owls, and his shiftiness and speed could make him a potential target. Because he's a fourth-year junior, it's very possible we see Durante play in one of the upcoming all-star games.

Dec 5 - 4:49 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

A junior in the Senior Bowl, you say? The game will accept fourth-year juniors, and that's what Stidham is. He declared for the draft on Tuesday, and the 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback will get a chance to show off his skill set against tough competition in Mobile in January. It's a great decision, as Stidham struggled for most of 2018, although a lot of that could be due to a lack of competent players around him. This will be a chance to show off the talent that made him a potential first-round pick coming into 2018.

Dec 5 - 4:11 PM

Marshall redshirt senior WR Tyre Brady accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Brady (6'3/206) turned in a 66-914-9 receiving line across 11 games played during the 2018 regular season. While he's not an out-and-out speed merchant, Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline noted back in mid-October that the Marshall standout plays faster than his pure 40-yard dash time (per Pauline, it's around 4.50 seconds). The analyst passes along that scouts are expecting Brady to come off the board during the early part of Day 3 festivities this spring.

Dec 5 - 2:31 PM

Alex Wesley - WR -  Bears

Northern Colorado redshirt senior WR Alex Wesley accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Wesley (6'0/184) just recorded his second consecutive season of 1,000 yards, logging a 57-1050-4 receiving line across 10 games played. He will look to use the Senior Bowl as a stage to catapult him into the draft consciousness proper. One analyst who has already become enamored with the wideout is The Athletic's Dane Brugler, who has pounded Wesley's drum at various times throughout the campaign. He's a burner of a receiver.

Dec 5 - 2:15 PM

Notre Dame senior TE Alize Mack accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Mack (6'5/247) has dealt with injuries and off-field issues during his collegiate career -- he sat out the 2016 season due to academics -- but finally managed to put together a mostly complete season in 2018. The senior tight end wrapped the regular season having caught 34 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns. While Mack has plenty of athletic upside, The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard refers to him as a "[r]aw player who clearly needs work on attention to detail" and additionally notes that he has shown issues with physicality at times, writing that he "doesn’t finish plays strong, especially with the ball in his hands." Ledyard colleague Brad Kelly views Mack as having the talent of a top-100 pick, but admits that his draft process will be crucial to his making that cut.

Dec 5 - 1:38 PM

Keenen Brown - TE -  Bobcats

Texas State redshirt senior TE Kennen Brown declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Brown (6'3/250) actually had the option for a sixth year of collegiate ball, but will opt in for the pros instead. He is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he registered a 51-577-5 receiving line. The Athletic's Dane Brugler tabs the former Oklahoma State tight end as a potential Day 3 selection for April's draft. He offers plus-quickness, as well as a nice big body for red zone work.

More than just the 1.01 owners.  That mock was clearly done by someone heavy into fantasy football and salivating over dream FF landing spots.

Also it would be quite hilarious if the Bills used their first round pick on someone named Josh Allen two years in a row.

Mocks are worthless in determining landing spots, but they are fun to read for FF owners to see another take on offensive players being drafted in the first two rounds.

David Sills - WR -  Mountaineers

West Virginia senior WR David Sills accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Sills (6'4/210) has been a monster red-zone target for the Mountaineers over the past two seasons, catching a combined 33 touchdown passes in that space. His size and ability to make post-up catches in the end zone should translate to the professional level, though Brad Kelly of The Draft Network notes that the big wideout has some issues with body control and consistency with his hands. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline stamps him with a fourth-round grade at this juncture.

Dec 6 - 6:49 PM

Jonathan Duhart - WR -  Monarchs

Old Dominion redshirt senior WR Jonathan Duhart accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

Duhart (6'3/210) brings to the table palatable size and a reliable pair of hands. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline noted in October that his potential to land in the spring draft may ultimately come down to how fast he runs at the NFL Scouting Combine/ODU pro day. A respectable time would give him a good chance at a Day 3 selection. After appearing in just two games a year ago due to injury, Duhart came firing out with a healthy 2018 campaign in which he registered a 74-1045-9 receiving line across 12 games played.

Dec 6 - 6:08 PM

Brett Rypien - QB -  Broncos

Boise State senior QB Brett Rypien accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

Rypien (6'2/202) won't be heading to the Senior Bowl ala Will Grier or Drew Lock, but will have a fine stage of his own on which to start building his draft case in earnest. The Boise State signal-caller has a beautiful touch on his throws and is a sharp prospect on the pure mechanical level, though he lacks true arm strength. The Draft Network's Benjamin Solak also notes in the negative that Rypien "[p]anics under pressure and often makes ill-advised 'hope' throws when under duress" before adding that he is "not an escape artist." Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline hits him up with a sixth-round grade as we head into the winter.

Dec 6 - 4:38 PM

Hunter Renfrow - WR -  Tigers

Clemson redshirt senior WR Hunter Renfrow accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Renfrow (5'10/189) won the Burlsworth Trophy on Monday, awarded annually to the best walk-on in the country. His best season came in 2017, when he logged a 60-602-3 receiving line across 14 games played. That was his only season over 500 yards receiving. He's sitting at 43-472-1 for the current campaign. While Renfrow's limitations are obvious -- a lack of overt athleticism and size are his most notable drawbacks for the next level -- The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard wrote in November that "in the right system, he can be a difference-making contributor in the short-intermediate areas of the field." Ledyard would be comfortable with using a Day 3 selection on the Clemson product if he were in charge of an NFL outfit.

Dec 6 - 4:13 PM

Caleb Wilson - TE -  Bruins

UCLA redshirt junior TE Caleb Wilson declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Wilson (6'4/233) was a monster this season, recording a 60-964-4 receiving line to earn first-team All-Pac-12 recognition. All three marks on that line stand as the best of his career. Now onward to the NFL Draft. The Draft Network's Benjamin Solak refers to Wilson as an "[e]xcellent hands catcher who has no trouble snagging high-velocity balls away from his frame and at odd angles with long arms and powerful mitts." In terms of his pro demerits, the analyst notes that Wilson will need to bulk up to start in the NFL and that he has shown subpar lateral quickness, which has in turn caused issues in pass protection. Walter Football's Charlie Campbell ranks Wilson as the No. 4 draft-eligible tight end in the 2019 pool.

Dec 6 - 2:27 PM

Missouri senior QB Drew Lock accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Lock (6'4/225) finished the 2018 regular season throwing for 3,125 yards (63.2-percent completions) with a 25/8 TD/INT ratio. Both his yardage and touchdown tallies were considerably down from 2017, but he was noticeably more accurate this time around after managing to complete just 57.8% of his passes during the previous campaign. The Athletic's Dane Brugler passed along near the end of November that scouts he has talked with believe that Lock will ultimately be drafted in the first round so long as he puts forth his best foot during the predraft evaluation process over the coming months. A sharp showing down in Mobile during Senior Bowl festivities would be a good start.

Lol, exactly my same thought. That would be a dream draft for us.

Ohio State redshirt sophomore QB Dwayne Haskins said that he would not make a decision on an NFL Draft declaration until after the Rose Bowl.

Haskins (6'3/220) will have another few weeks to mull over his decision before the Buckeyes take on Washington on New Year's Day. The Heisman finalist finished out the regular season having thrown for 4,580 yards with a 47/8 TD/INT ratio. Sharp as those numbers might be, the OSU signal-caller does not have a realistic chance to win Heisman in the face of competition from Kyler Murray and Tua Tagovailoa. The Athletic's Dane Brugler slotted Haskins in with the No. 6 overall selection in his first mock draft of the winter, released earlier in the week.

Dec 7 - 2:57 PM

Old Dominion senior WR Travis Fulgham accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Fulgham ended the year as hot as any wideout in the country, and he led Conference USA with 1,083 yards on his 63 receptions. At 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, Fulgham has quality size, and scouting reports suggest he's starting to turn his athleticism into production. Because of his build and his quality finish, he'll be one of the most intriguing wideouts in Mobile this January.

Dec 7 - 5:42 PM

Missouri senior WR Emanuel Hall accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Hall (6'3/200) battled injuries in 2018, but still put up a line of 35/756/6 for the Tigers. He's been a big-play threat in his time with Missouri, as seen in his 21.6 yards-per-catch and a 24.6 average the previous year. He'll need a clean bill of health, but Hall will have a chance to be a mid-round selection because of his skill set this spring.

Dec 7 - 8:00 PM

West Virginia senior QB Will Grier will skip the Camping World Bowl against Syracuse on Dec. 28 to being preparations for the NFL draft.

Grier's 2018 season ends with 3,864 passing yards and a 37/8 TD/INT rate on 67.0% completions and 9.7 ypa over 11 games. He posted a divine 81/23 TD/INT rate over his career. He won't be in New York this evening for the Heisman ceremony, but Grier was a finalist for the Maxwell, Manning, Walter Camp and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards. ESPN's Mel Kiper ranks Grier as the No. 5 quarterback in the 2019 class. Grier is listed at 6'2/214, but there's a decent chance that he measures in a tick shorter than that. Frame is one question mark, arm strength is another. But Grier is a former ballyhooed prep recruit made good as a prolific collegiate rhythm thrower. We'll next see him in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. With Grier out against the Orange, West Virginia will likely turn to untested sophomore transfer Jack Allison. If nothing else, the Mountaineers will find out if it's necessary to enter the grad transfer market this winter.

Dec 8 - 1:14 PM

Washington redshirt senior TE Drew Sample has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Sample (6'5/251) took a step forward as a receiver in 2018. As a junior, Sample caught seven passes across five games, but he caught 23 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Athletic's Dane Brugler calls Sample a third or fourth round draft pick, but he will have a chance to rise up draft boards with a good showing at the Senior Bowl and at the combine. Analytically-driven teams will not like Sample's 7.6 yards per target.

Dec 9 - 5:04 PM

West Virginia senior TE Trevon Wesco accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

At first glance, Wesco's production is just average -- he caught 24 passes for 352 yards and one touchdown -- but it's eye opening when considering he was only targeted 26 times. That means he caught 92% of his targets and averaged a ridiculous 13.5 yards per target. Wesco showed off his athleticism by making a great one-handed catch against Oklahoma State (video in the link below) and he'll get to showcase it for NFL scouts during the Reese's Senior Bowl. Wesco (6'4/274) is a Day 3 candidate.

Dec 9 - 4:53 PM

FAU junior RB Devin Singletary was named the Conference USA Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus.

Singletary was given the fifth best running back grade in the country after finishing the season as the nation's leader in missed tackles forced -- he broke 94 tackles on 264 attempts. Singletary was also one of three running backs to have over 1,000 rushing yards coming after contact (1,027 yards). Pro Football Focus also notes that the junior running back led the country in percentage of yards coming after contact (76.9%). If Singletary declares for the 2019 NFL Draft, he would be a Day 2 candidate with an outside shot of being a late first-round pick with a strong combine.

Dec 9 - 3:15 PM

Texas Tech junior WR Antoine Wesley declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Wesley put up monster numbers for the Red Raiders in 2019, catching 88 passes for 1,410 yards and nine scores. He's also listed at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, so that size is sure to intrigue scouts. The questions will come from the production in the Air Raid system, but that's no longer a prospect death sentence. A scouting report from The Draft Network also notes that he needs to show more lateral quickness, and his route-running can be inconsistent. In his tweet announcing his selection, he said he got positive reviews from the NFL Draft Advisory Board, so iff Wesley tests well, he'll have a chance to be among the first wideouts selected; possibly even a first-round target because of his size and production.

Dec 10 - 4:35 PM

San Jose State senior TE Josh Oliver accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

San Jose State was atrocious -- again with a 1-11 record in 2018, but Oliver (6'5/250) had little to do with the lack of success. He picked up 56 catches for 709 yards with four touchdowns, and was routinely the best player on the field for the Spartans. Oliver needs to show the athleticism to stretch the field, but even if he's not a seam guy, he's a solid motion tight end who could go in the first four rounds.

Dec 10 - 4:28 PM

Michigan State senior RB LJ Scott (leg) accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

There was talk about Scott coming back for a fifth season after playing in just four games, but instead the running back is going to head to the NFL. The 6-foot-1, 225-ound tailback has exceptional power, but he needs to show he's fully healthy and that he can be an effective pass-catcher. If he can, the stock will improve considerably, but he projects as a late Day 3 selection at this point.

Dec 10 - 4:09 PM

Deebo Samuel - WR -  Gamecocks

South Carolina redshirt senior WR Deebo Samuel accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

This will be the last time that we see Samuel wearing a South Carolina helmet, as he's not going to play in the Belk Bowl against Virginia. He's been a dynamic player when healthy, but when is an operative term. Still, he's an explosive athlete, and the 6-foot, 210-pound wideout can make defenders look foolish with the ball in his hands. There's a real chance he goes in the first two rounds if he tests well/gets cleared medically.

Source: Reese's Senior Bowl

Dec 10 - 3:10 PM

Syracuse senior WR Jamal Custis accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

Custis has some of the most intriguing size in the class (6'5/213), and at times, he's put that size into good use with a line of 46/826/6 over his senior season for the nine-win Orange. Consistency hasn't been there -- some of that is due to the system Syracuse plays in, to be fair -- so he'll need to show well at events like this, and the ability to play on special teams will also be big for Custis.

Dec 10 - 12:54 PM

South Florida redshirt junior TE Mitchell Wilcox said that he's having his draft status "evaluated."

Just what, exactly, Wilcox means by that is not entirely clear. He did not specify whether or not he had requested a grade from the NFL's College Advisory Committee, though that would be the logical assumption. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound redshirt junior dealt with an ankle injury during the 2018 regular season, but fought through the health concern to finish the year with a 40-506-2 receiving line across nine games played. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline stamped Wilcox with a grade for Rounds 4-5 during his summer prospect rundown. Not out of the question that he could sneak into Day 2 with a strong showing during the evaluation process.
