Bleacher Report's Matt Miller mocked Stanford RB Bryce Love to Round 7.
This is sad, as Love (5'10/202) potentially left millions on the table after deciding to return for his senior season where he wasn't the same due to a nagging ankle injury. Love then tore his ACL in Stanford's season finale to make matters much worse. The former Heisman candidate is unlikely to be fully recovered for his Pro Day, so NFL teams will be drafting him knowing there are major injury risks involved. When healthy, Love has top-end speed, but it's unclear if he'll ever be as fast as he once was.

Greg Dortch - WR - Demon Deacons
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller mocked Wake Forest WR Greg Dortch to Round 7.
Dortch (5'9/170) entered the draft early after posting an 89-1,078-8 receiving line in 2018, but it looks like he's going to need to take home impressive measurables at the NFL Combine for him to flirt with Day 2. Previously, Miller called Dortch a "potential Tyreek Hill piece" but it takes Olympic-level athleticism to be on Hill's playing field.

Dillon Mitchell - WR - Ducks
The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard described Oregon WR Dillon Mitchell's tape as a "wild ride."
Ledyard loves some of Mitchell's abilities, but there are times where Mithcell fails to showcase ball skills. Of course, ball skills are one of the most important aspects of a receiver's game, so this isn't a great scouting report for the former Duck. Mitchell, however, is a quality athlete and was pretty productive as a junior with Justin Herbert. Considered a Day 3 prospect, Mitchell may be better off as a slot receiver in the NFL.

only takes one team to fall in love....I mean the bears moved up one spot to #2 overall for Trubisky….could of had Mahomes…..Laughable
I agree that the hype over looks a few things.Laughable
He's 5 foot nothing and weighs about as much as Shirley Temple did back in 1940. I would let someone else take that risk.I agree that the hype over looks a few things.
What do you dislike the most about Murray
That's my assessment as well. Today's NFL is different, but even watching college tape he looks like a very talented 8th grader out there. He's 5 foot nothing and weighs about as much as Shirley Temple did back in 1940. I would let someone else take that risk.
Not posting this as a retort to your post or to discuss Murray (actually this is more representative of why Haskins should probably be #1 in the NFL draft). Murray is slightly below the mark for accuracy from a clean pocket: https://twitter.com/nflfilmstudy/status/1095152958017323008?s=21That's my assessment as well. Just curious if people have issues with his passing. His accuracy is not as good as people make it to be IMO
Did you not hear that he is short? There is no possible way he can hold up in the NFL even if his BMI is maybe 28.I curious as to the naysayers. His numbers were astounding last year in just about every phase of QB play. Not just his TDs, but his TD/INT ratio, completion %, percentage of deep passes completed, ypa, big play to potential TO ratio, scrambling and keeping plays alive, and rushing yardage in scrambles.
He does a combination of great things that no other QB in college and the vast majority of pros aren’t capable of. What exactly would he have to do then to impress you?
We don’t know but RW measured in at the combine as 5’11” 204. Oklahoma football listed Kyler as 5’10” 195. Often these college programs inflate the player size so there’s a good chance he’s more like 5’9” 185. We really won’t know untill he’s measured at the combine.how much smaller is Murray compared to Russel Wilson? these baseball player types seem to be doing well at QB in the NFL

I was being sarcastic. I agree with you. I’ve challenged the notion of his height with queries about his play. Seems like everyone is afraid to criticize his play since he had the most efficient season in the history of tracked efficiency and did it in a power five conference. Add on that he’s a running QB for fantasy purposes and he’ll have some really great value if he slips into the second of rookie drafts. I like Haskins more as a pure QB at this point but Murray will deserve to go in the top half of the first if that’s where he goes.Yeah, I heard that about Wilson and Mayfield too. I was dumb enough to listen to that despite what my eyes told me about Wilson and missed out on him - like the NFL did when he dropped to the 3rd round. I learned my lesson and didn’t make the same mistake on Mayfield - like the NFL did (despite the continued naysaying from some pro scouts and some experts here). Some guys are just winners and can play, and they don’t let an obstacle get in their way.
However, I was aiming that more at those questioning his level of play, not his stature.

Watching the actual play that led to those numbers has me skeptical about his translation to the pros. There isn't any one thing that sticks out as a problem, but this thread made me realize he has a lot to clean up if he's going to integrate quickly.I curious as to the naysayers. His numbers were astounding last year in just about every phase of QB play. I generally trust PFF. Wharton does good work on twitter though. I also put more stock into clean pocket accuracy over under pressure but I can’t help but be impressed by Haskins accuracy under pressure vs who he was compared against.https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-projecting-kyler-murrays-nfl-prospects
Well, somebody is completely missing the mark. It should be interesting to see who.
So this will be counter to my thesis and long defense of Murray but I do have to remind myself that 5’9 is an outlier. To a degree where there is no comparison at all (outside of Doug Flutie which is a different era of football all together). From a fantasy perspective I think if he goes to the combine and runs a 4.3/4.4 it will be important to keep balance on his stock. It would be preferential to get an outlier running QB in the second over the first with the levels of this WR/TE class and depth at RB (unless playing in 2 QB format).Bronco has a good point.
Today's NFL doesnt require a qb to be 6'4. A lot of very successful shorter QBs.

It isn't his shortness that worries me the most, it's his weight. He won't hold up in the NFL as a full-time QB. Perhaps he has some success as a gadget player. How accurate is he really? When I said his height doesn't worry me the most, that's true, but it is a factor. He will have trouble seeing the field and would have to roll out of the pocket on almost every passing play.Bronco has a good point.

As a Premo subscriber of PFF over the years I’ve found that PFF has been spot on about its evaluations of college QBs. I’ll cast my lot with PFF.https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-projecting-kyler-murrays-nfl-prospects

Estimating at 5’9 7/8 185lbs puts him at a 27.2 BMI.It isn't his shortness that worries me the most, it's his weight. He won't hold up in the NFL as a full-time QB. Light is light no matter how you measure it.Estimating at 5’9 7/8 185lbs puts him at a 27.2 BMI.
In comparison:
ARod 28.6
Dalton 27.6
Luck 28.5
Baker 28.4
Ben 28.6
Dak 29
Brees 28.1
Winston 28.1
Jimmy G 29
Flacco 26.6
Josh Allen 28.1
Mariota 27
Matt Ryan 27
Stafford 28.9
Trubisky 28.5
Mahomes 28.9
Rivers 27.2
Russell Wilson 28.4
Brady 25
Eli 26.2
If he weighs in at 195 and close to 5’10 or even if we’re way off and he’s closer to 5’9 or below his BMI is going to be right in line with league average and close to a number of running QB’s the league has seen. I guess you’d have to allow creedance for BMI. If you don’t believe it’s a meaningful tool this does nothing for you.
Disagree but there is going to be nothing I can say to change your mind. BMI has had a moderate correlation with durability. He is not light by measures of BMI and I anticipate him being closer to 195 and of reasonable if not bigger than average BMI.Light is light no matter how you measure it.
No way he comes within 8-10 lbs of 195.Disagree but there is going to be nothing I can say to change your mind. BMI has had a moderate correlation with durability. He is not light by measures of BMI and I anticipate him being closer to 195 and of reasonable if not bigger than average BMI.
It almost seems like you’re asking him to be built like an RB. Would you be happy if he was 200, 205? I wouldn’t be if he is sub 5’10. The only QB’s pushing 30 BMI are Cam Newton and Dak, Jimmy G, Cardale Jones, Mark Sánchez, Mahomes and Jeff Driskell. He’s of a reasonable size for his frame at 185 to 195 and close to ideal at 195.No way he comes within 8-10 lbs of 195.
No way he comes within 8-10 lbs of 195.
No sense speculating. We will see what he weighs at the combine. You apparently know some things that no one else in football does other than Kyler Murray. Is there anything else that you’d like to share with us?
.
.... this suks ballz. For him it does, but this presents a hell of a day two buying opportunity for a team that's playing the long game.Arghhh.... this suks ballz.

From @mortreport and me: Mississippi St. DT Jeffery Simmons, projected to be a top 15-pick in April, suffered a knee injury during training that is thought to be a torn ACL, per league sources. A statement to offer clarity on Simmons' injury is expected to be released today.
