[Dynasty] 2022 NFL Draft Class (1 Viewer)

PFF has Western Michigan WR Skyy Moore as their sixth-ranked wide receiver in the 2022 draft class.

Moore (5'9/195) broke out in a big way for the Broncos this past year. He totaled 94 receptions for 1,291 yards and 10 touchdowns, but it was how he won that was really impressive. Moore was excellent at winning at the catch point and excelling as a deep receiver. Despite his size, Moore was excellent in the open field, breaking a nation-leading 26 tackles this past season. Moore has a big opportunity to raise his stock next week at the combine.

Michigan RB Hassan Haskins rushed for the most first down in the FBS in 2021.

Haskins (6'1/220) is a really interesting prospect and has some great qualities. Certainly, his size is something teams are looking for, but also has the incredible speed to get to the secondary and has the toughness to take hits. He's also an all-purpose back with great hands to catch in the backfield and is good in pass protection. His stats were also phenomenal as he finished 17th in rushing yards (1,327), tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns (20), to go along with 4.9 yards per carry. According to PFF, Hassan led all running backs from power five conferences with 103 first down, 18 more than the next. Interestingly enough, this doesn't have the Wolverines back ranked in their top 12. Thought of as a mid-round pick, there's some possible upside and great value for whoever picks him up.

PFF ranks Desmond Ridder as the No. 3 overall quarterback.

Ridder (6'4/215) has been projected all the way up to a mid-first round pick to the early second-round. As a four-year starter in Cincinnati, he's one of the more experienced quarterbacks in this draft, and leading the Bearcats to become the first team from a group of five conferences to make the College Football playoffs shows his excellent leadership. PFF has him as the last pick in the first round which the Lions received in the 2021 trade with Rams for Jared Goff. With this Young Detroit team and the second-year coach Dan Campbell doing very well but Lions standards, a new quarterback might be what they need to get to the next level.

I just put together a big board where half the weight goes to mock draft consensus (an equal mix of Grinding The Mocks EDP and NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board) and half the weight goes to evaluators (equal mix of Zierlein's grades, Brugler's top 100, and PFF Big Board).

When averaging them, I treated guys who were missing from a list as if they were ranked 30-40 spots later than the last ranked player, averaged on a sqrt scale so that players wouldn't be pulled down as much by a bad ranking, and gave QBs a slight boost because some of these rankings don't fully account for positional value.

Here are the fantasy-position players in the top 160:

9    Garrett Wilson    WR    Ohio State
13    Treylon Burks    WR    Arkansas

Pro Football Focus has Western Michigan WR Skyy Moore rated as the MAC's highest-graded WR since 2014.

You don't have to remember Skyy Moore right now because at the end of the combine you will be hearing his name a lot. He has incredible speed with big-play ability, but after the catch is where he excels with an FBS-leading 26 missed tackles this season. Pro Football Focus is high on Moore (5'9"/195) as they have them on their top-30 prospect board. There are some really talented players at the wide receiver position that are coming from big programs, for a receiver like Moore coming out of the G5 to be mentioned means he possesses something special.

Didn't know where else to put this but... Remember this quote from Daniel Jeremiah as you're pining for your team to improve it's o-line...

"If you go back and look at the last five Super Bowl-winning teams, 25 starting offensive linemen, three of them were home-grown first-round picks. You just can’t have any tomato cans out there."

According to The Athletic NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler, former Ohio State TE Jeremy Ruckert (foot) will skip this week's NFL Scouting Combine.

Ruckert (6'5/252) is regarded as one of the top tight ends in the draft, but a foot injury suffered during the Senior Bowl will cause him to sit out this week's NFL Scouting Combine. Ruckert will now reportedly wait until Ohio State's pro day, which is scheduled for March 23rd. Last season with the Buckeyes, Ruckert posted a receiving line of 26-309-3 and finished his career with 54 receptions for 915 yards and 12 touchdowns per PFF.com.

IDKWTF that means. I get the point being made but have never heard this one before.

Per PFF Draft on Twitter, former UCLA TE Greg Dulcich and former Iowa State TE Charlie Kolar are tied amongst tight ends with the most 15+ yard receptions since 2020 by Power Five TEs.

Dulcich (6'3/245) and Kolar will both be drafted this spring during the 2022 NFL Draft, but rank as the seventh and 11th best tight ends in the class per Pro Football Focus. Last season with the Bruins, Dulcich caught 42 passes for 725 yards and five touchdowns, and averaged 17.6 yards per reception for his career. Kolar posted a receiving line of 62-756-6 in 2021, and had a career receiving line of 168-2181-23. Both tight ends caught 36 passes of 15+ yards since the 2020 season, and both had 500+ receiving yards in each of their last two seasons.

Western Michigan WR Skyy Moore says his formal meetings with the Philadelphia Eagles was his favorite so far.

Moore (5'9"/195) isn't the hottest WR name in the class, especially with the amount of names at the top, but he's still a very good player. He had a great season in 2021, catching 95 passes for 1292 yards and ten scores for the Broncos. He's undersized for sure, but he makes up for that with speed and elusiveness, and his ability after the catch is his calling card. The Eagles need another WR to pair with DeVonta Smith, but WR is not a "first-round" type of need. Getting Moore in the second or third would be a great solution to their issues. Also debatably worth noting, it seems the Eagles have been asking all of their prospects to shoot free-throws and Moore went 5-for-5. Fun activity, or some secret draft strategy, you decide.

Coastal Carolina TE Isaiah Likely has met with the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Likely (6'4"/240) should be one of the hottest TE prospects un the upcoming NFL Draft based on production. He pulled in 912 received yards and 12 touchdowns in 2021, but playing for a Coastal Carolina team that didn't meet expectations has buried his name a little bit. At least two clubs are still very intrigued however, and both could really use some extra help in the receiving game. The Jaguars in particular need a safety valve for Trevor Lawrence, and more receiving help in general, while a sure-handed tight end to pair with A.J. Brown might be just the thing to get the Titans over the hump. Likely believes he has the best hands in the draft, and has been viewed by organizations as the F-TE, which is kind of like the slot WR for tight ends. They'll move him all around the formation, trying to use his athleticism to get him open for quick chain movers and that's a role Likely should excel in.

Michigan RB Hassan Haskins and Clemson WR Justyn Ross are limited or not working out at the combine due to injury.

Haskins (6'1/220) is still recovering from lower leg injuries, and will only bench at the combine. Ross (6'4"/205) is had foot surgery, so he will be working out at his Pro Day. Haskins had a breakout season this year, rushing for 1,327 yards and 20 touchdowns. In a bit of a shaky RB class, Haskins could really rocket up boards with a great Combine, so it's a bit of a shame he isn't full go. Ross on the other hand, is in kind of the opposite situation. His star has faded since his stellar freshman season and the WR class is absolutely stacked. A good combine result probably wouldn't have moved him into the top group, but it would have gone a long way in separating himself from the middle of the pack.

Providence Journal writer Mark Daniels reported that Alabama WR Slade Bolden has met with the New England Patriots.

The ties that Bolden (5'11/191) has with the Patriots are very intriguing. Bolden models his game after former Patriot great Julian Edelman, which isn't a surprise when you watched him on Saturdays. His offensive coordinator this past season Bill O'Brien talked to him about how he used Wes Welker. The biggest connection is quarterback Mac Jones. The two were roommates in college and became close because of that. Match all that with the Patriots valuing guys like Bolden who also play special teams and it makes too much sense. Come day three, this will be a pairing to watch out for.

Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker and Notre Dame RB Kyren Williams will participate in all athletic testing except for the bench press.

Interesting that both guys will do all testing except for the bench. One has to assume they don't feel particularly confident in that measurement and are therefore skipping it, but that's just speculation. Walker (5'10"/210) says he's shooting to run in the 4.4s, which would be a good time for someone of his size. Williams on the other hand, emphasized that he wants to be a three-down back in the NFL, similar to Alvin Kamara. Considering he caught 77 passes in the past two years at Notre Dame, he's well positioned to be that all purpose back. Kamara for reference caught 74 passes in his two years at Tennessee.

Pro Football Network draft analyst Tony Pauline reported that Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux still has motor concerns among NFL scouts.

This isn't a huge surprise as ESPN's Todd McShay had the report during the Senior Bowl. Thibodeaux's (6'5"/250) motor was called into questions and Wednesday's report from Pauline confirms that those concerns haven't gone away. When Pauline mentioned that Thibodeaux could have opted out after a high ankle sprain in week one and people connected to the program told Pauline that he "could have given more." One team picking in the top-10 with a lot of draft capital is telling teams that they wouldn't touch Thibodeaux in the top half of round one. Pair that with scouts' questions about his "desire to be great" and it raises more questions about his draft stock come April.
